MarshaBrady · 08/06/2012 09:23

MidnightinMoscow · 08/06/2012 09:38

use this link and then click sale, under 'just in'.

MarshaBrady · 08/06/2012 09:42

Oh thank you MiM! Good thinking.

Back in a bit!

alwaysrunninginheels · 08/06/2012 10:27

Am just loving the sales. Shame matches hasn't put much dvf stuff in the sale- looks like old stuff really.
But have managed to buy this in both colours as there were different sizes available and have to see what fits.

Then following the love of all things animal this
www.matchesfashion.com/product/55097
I keep trying the brackets for links but cant get it to work- but have no idea why apart from a complete lack of IT skills....
Now have fingers crossed that some other people buy the jbrand leopard print jeans in my size before this evening when i sense one glass of wine could have me throwing caution to the wind.....they are a really bad idea arent they???

notyummy · 08/06/2012 10:41

Staying away from Matches sale. No more spending this month. Some lovely links though!

Most jealous of your upcoming holiday Dauphin- obviously I would suggest a maxi that would work for day or night Wink, a range of fitted t shirts that can be worn with shorts or jeans, couple of sun dresses and perhaps one smart dress. Depends what luggage restrictions you have!

Had a trying on session last night for the black tie do we are going to on Saturday night. It is for DHs work and those of you remember me posting at Xmas may recall that he turns into a Victorian father about what u wear to these things Hmm. He really is not like this about anything else, but it is such a conservative world. I tried on (look away now capsule wardrobe fans) 11 Blush black tie (ie ankle of floor length formal dresses) from my wardrobe last night and quite a few were discounted for being 'too low at the back' or 'too contemporary'..... In my defence, I go to 5/6 black tie events a year and many of the same people sometimes attend. The dresses I have date back to 1997 as well! In fact of the 3 contenders that I have narrowed it down to, an ankle length beaded black sheath dress is one of them. Bought in 1997 when i joined the RAF. For what seemed like the vast sum of £100...but it has stood the test of time.

Emo76 · 08/06/2012 11:46

I don't need any more stuff.
But I do love this Anya bag

blossoming · 08/06/2012 11:57

I bought 2 pairs of 811s to try, the blue bonnets and the red ones a la mim. And a Maxmara blue 3/4 sleeve t shirt, but in a L as the only size I had left. Already regretting the returns thing. Never mind!
I've been wanting to recreate this look for a while and I got the white tee yesterday!
Also doesn't this look good? Could wear my black slinky top with the blue bonnets, and my strappy jimmy choos aren't dissimilar to the ones on the model. Where I'm going to go dressed like that I don't know though!

Morning all,

Just back from the village where I did the Matches sale in person (shame about the two kids in tow) as I just cannot cope with paying eight pounds for delivery when the items are half a mile away. So I dragged myself off the sofa and went down there. Sale very low key this time around, no signs up or anything. Saw that dress fritzi, so beautiful and glam! Their computers were crashing all over the place, lucky I had cash, must be the W&A orders flooding in!

So, I ended up buying this little Maxmara as having looked again at Gracie, she is beautiful but something just isn't right for me, and this little cardi which I have a similar stripy version of and wear all the time.

Over and out.

blossoming · 08/06/2012 12:03

Oh dauphin, let me think. I'm going S of F too and will be taking 2 bikinis, 2 swimming costumes, beach shorts and rib vests, 3 linen dresses for town/market visits, toucan scarf for sarong duties, probably a jersey beach dress (boden last year), and skinnies, v neck tee, scarf and sunnies for airport! If I wasn't' camping, I'd take a maxi dress too, but I just know I'm going to be so hot and eating out during the day if at all, that there is no call for it. Could change my mind though, depending on the effect it might have on DH tonight!
Please remind me of anything I might have forgotten. DH loves my knee length boden white denim skirt for example.. Still want a hat of some description though!

Love the thought of you handing over wads of cash amber! Love that bag. Hope you're feeling better today.

AmberNectarine · 08/06/2012 12:19

It was a bit of a pretty woman money actually, bloss. I sold our uber heavy double buggy last night so had £500 in cash on me, purely by chance, so I just got this wedge out and started peeling off notes. The sales assistants probably thought me ridiculously flash...

DonaAna · 08/06/2012 13:29

Long time, no see. Thanks for the Matches sale links! I ordered a DvF dress and an Maxmara dress. Lots of parties coming up, plus the school gate crowd here is pretty dressed up - I spotted a real Birkin there today.

On the budget department, I've bought two navy dresses from Esprit - both have gotten a lot of positive comments from passers-by.

Oh, and there was a major lapse from austerity, a cherry-red python Miss Dior pochette... Love, love, love it.

Does anyone still use the red H&M Hasbeens from last year? I wore them yesterday, by far my most comfortable summer sandals. Tried to wear a lovely new pair of Castaner espadrilles today - both heels in blisters :(

alwaysrunninginheels · 08/06/2012 13:29

amber thats made me smile!!! v funny! A few years ago i had similar situation paying for a couple of sofas in John Lewis.....don't think the sales assistants knew what to think! Would much rather have taken the money to Matches though- v jealous of one so close by!

AmberNectarine · 08/06/2012 13:38

Ooh which Castaners have you got Dona - I have my eye on a half price pair...

AmberNectarine · 08/06/2012 13:39

Pretty woman moment not money. I doubt anyone would pay me for that.

alwaysrunninginheels · 08/06/2012 13:46

Is it me or they adding to the matches sale as the day goes on? the dvf dresses i wanted are now in sale.....tad miffed at paying another £8 for delivery!!

MidnightinMoscow · 08/06/2012 14:08

Love all the links. Hope the red 811's work for you Bloss. I collected and returned mine today, was tempting to just keep them and wear tomorrow at a friends house for lunch, but was wise and thought of the matches discount.

I agree that £8 is steep. Can you call them Always and see if they can add to your order?

Like the idea of Amber getting a wad of cash out - Frank Butcher style. Grin Hope you are feeling better today.

Saw a really lovely jumper in Day Birger this am - a rose gold, fine knit with long sleeves and a black ribbon tie at the neck at the back, DD started to yell though so no time to try on. Might go back an later to try on, as I really need to get my eyebrows done today, but not sure if I can face the weather.

Am wearing black 910's, grey linen Zara tee and a black vest. I am dressed like it's November.

MidnightinMoscow · 08/06/2012 14:09

Oh, meant to say - I took the R&B flats back, and was given a new pair straight away. No quibbles.

Excellent service.

alwaysrunninginheels · 08/06/2012 14:22

Have managed to dig out my r&b receipt and plan to see if I can get mine exchanged tomorrow- fingers crossed!

Hopefully · 08/06/2012 14:27

Always I was about to pop on and point out DVF dresses now in sale but see that you've seen them already!

No good bags or dresses for me in matches. Ho hum.

blossoming · 08/06/2012 14:31

I have added a Balenciaga top to my order Blush. Thinking it might fill the void that is the 'going out top' that I have in my wardrobe. And figuring that I would pay that much for a dress.
Think the DHL man might be visiting pretty soon though. Am definitely only keeping one pair of jeans...

Seems that the sale site is down, and now says coming soon instead.

FritziGreenEyes · 08/06/2012 14:39
