Amber - how awful for you. Hope you get some rest today. Can you ask your Mum to help?

Bloss - I meant I loved the name of that website: I want to be an Alt. Some great inspiration on there.

School run then Dutch lesson. Bah.

Emo76 · 07/06/2012 08:19

oh amber get well soon. that's really scary. glad your DH is stepping up to the plate. probably not the right time to introduce bottles but I think your life would become a lot easier if you did (but harder to begin with ) - yes I know that may not be mumsnet PC.

I get it ollie "lady to the left of EA" bloss blog!

Am going to that "lounge suit" event tonight entertaining two people I don't know very well at all. Must not get drunk. Must not get drunk and make fool of self. Repeat.

Wearing an "old" Moschino cheap and chic black dress, new nude LKB heels and
this scarf I got yesterday.

Also I got but am returning this Red valentino dress - it's quite nice on but gives me those fat bulgy bits at front of armpits and for the money really isn't worth it. Was a bit of a random try!

Happy Thursdays everyone - yes, it feels like a Tuesday but in fact only one day until the w-e-e-k-e-n-d. Woo hoo!

AmberNectarine · 07/06/2012 08:33

Ah, emo I have been trying to introduce bottles, cups, dummies etc since day 2 so no worried re. Mumsnet PC here. Little madam just won't have a bar of it!

Well, just on my way back from the nursery run. DS will be there this morning then my mum will collect him, so that I only have HRH to deal with... Will try to nap when she does, as feel like I have done 10 rounds with Jillian this morning!

So the Matches preview code ended at midnight - surely we must now be on red alert for the sale proper...

AmberNectarine · 07/06/2012 08:34

Wrap sale has started if anyone is interested...

alwaysrunninginheels · 07/06/2012 08:44

Matches website kept going down yesterday saying they were "making the site more beautiful" as hoping that was code for "getting ready for the sale"! Harvey nics starts Tuesday evening! Surely that means selfridges will be about then too?

MidnightinMoscow · 07/06/2012 08:52

Amber you poor thing - I really hope you get some rest and get better soon.

Emo have a great time tonight, lovely scarf btw.

Great shopping Bloss, those leggings look great.

I had a shopping itch that needed to be scratched in the form of red jeans. They needed to be the right shade, not too bright so they could cross over into AW wear. Tried the MIH Paris on again, lovely jeans but they do not flatter my hips at all. Tried on a few others, but without doubt - J brand are the uttermost best jeans for me. Made me realise that I will stick to them, meaning buying far less but at least knowing they suit me and will wear loads. So, I have ordered these, but had a HoF voucher so ordered from there for collection tomorrow. Am thinking they would work well with this blouse.

Interesting to hear about the style day chat - I totally get that your personality shapes how you dress, and for me I have outfits that I feel much more 'me' in, or rather the 'me' that I wish to look like. So, that in mind I am wearing a favourite today Bloss of J brand black 910's and the top version of this. Not sure what they makes me though!

Such a shame for Friday, the alternative venue is a bit far for me too although seeing as I have tagged along at the last minute I would go with the majority.

Meant to say to Fritzi and Ollie, glad you liked my ceramics - am impressed that you remembered. I have the 'chicken or egg' egg cups - although they remain largely unused due to the egg ban in our house. Grin I consoled myself with the garlic pot at Christmas, but I love the butter dish too.

Our building work has been delayed until early July. Am itching to get it started, as we have cleared the loft now and the contents are in our bedroom. Alongside DH's work desk and DD in the travel cot as she is too massive for the moses basket! Not much room to move at the moment!

Red great news the kitchen is finished, would love to see some final pictures.

blossoming · 07/06/2012 10:46

Another reason to do colour/style is that never again will you be bullied by pushy salespeople! A red mist descends every time I think of my mum who went into a 'boutique' recently as recommended by 'friends' and came out with an expensive Victorian-esque lace shawl in cream. Anyone with any style knowledge would know that mum is a definite winter, ie absolutely no cream, and a classic, comfortable dresser. Think Dash and CC. Makes my blood boil.
Have offered her a HoC day but she has refused.

Poor you amber- I hope the antibiotics are kicking in (assume they have given you some if you are that poorly). So hard to get a good rest when you have little ones- lots of TV and cuddles with the baby followed by early nights?

emo- thanks for linking to the LKB sale. I really like the look of this blouse.
That Chan Luu scarf is gorgeous! I love the magenta and turquoise colours (will be tempted if it goes into the sale)!

Wrap sale not exciting me at all. J Crew stuff looks great but so expensive once you factor in taxes, etc that I don't think it's worth it.

Lovely links bloss and MIM.
It's so possible to get persuaded into purchases that aren't quite you/ don't fit into your lifestyle at all! I love the pared back approach of bloss/ hopefully/ everything.
Must start to invest in some a small number of good quality buys in AW when post natal/ BF figure has calmed down!

AmberNectarine · 07/06/2012 13:08

Thanks for kind wishes all. Yes have anti-bs looby and a nasty throat spray, so I am combining those with lots of paracetamol to keep my temp down (have history of sepsis with infections so have to be ultra careful).

Sam edelmans arrived, and are perfect, love the rose gold colour and the soles are lovely and cushioned. Bargain at £40!

Lovely scarf emo, I bought a fab scarf hanger from Ikea at the weekend (along with hundreds of plastic storage boxes) so my scarves are all organised, and better yet I have space for more!

MarshaBrady · 07/06/2012 13:08

Oh Annie, tis a damp squib out there. Let's do something soon, I'll pm.

My childhood Dutch friends would not be impressed with me. I remember many a family holiday trudging through rainy forests. It's lovely! they'd say.

I also completely messed up on dates as ds2 is not actually with me tomorrow.

Russianred · 07/06/2012 13:14

Hi all. Have two sleeping children for the first time in ages after a morning's swimming. It might have been the first time we've taken DD Blush.

Amber, that's very scary. I've had a couple of public fits/faints and it's really disorientating to come round to; hope the DC weren't too affected. You must be feeling exhausted.

I haven't got any PMs about tomorrow, so not sure who to reply to, but think it's got to be a wash-out, hasn't it?! I'm coming up in mid-July for a few days and would love an evening drink/daytime mini-waft/lunch with anyone who might be around.

MiM I love my 811s with a passion. Excellent purchase. Will take a couple of pics later and whack them on for you.

I had my pink Gap skinnies on yesterday and couldn't get a snorting sound out of my head. Am feeling like they may not have been the wisest of purchases.

I would be interested in colours/style you know. I have gleaned little bits of what you all discuss and have decided I'm probably a winter. Style-wise, can you be a Gamine/Dramatic cross (it's a bit like Crufts!)? I definitely have made expensive mistakes in the past and it would be great to understand a bit more about it all. Also, I imagine it gives you confidence in what you are putting together, which I can lack.

Have been a bit drawn to some Boden preview bits - particularly the blouse you linked to in the bottle green Ollie and the navy pointy pumps. Good workwear (squee!) staples.

blue2711 · 07/06/2012 13:15

Oh goodness amber, that sounds scary. Hope you are resting today and your little madam isn't being too demanding. You always sound such a selfless and patient mum but do try to prioritise yourself a little now if possible.

Such a shame about the waft. This wretched weather.

Gorgeous blouse mim. I love j brands too but haven't really got on as well with my bright pink 811s as I'd hoped. They're too long and loose at the bottom I think, I need to have them taken up. My TS Jamies are tight all the way down and I like the fit better. Love those leggings bloss, I used to have a pair but wore them out at the knee, must replace. Love the EA site too, she looks great in white jeans in winter, must try this year!

hopefully I'm compiling an AW list too. Looking forward to seeing yours.

Excited about the sales, have my eye on a few things....

blue2711 · 07/06/2012 13:20

red, you see I feel left out of the 811 love! Hmm, is it because I am so short? They look ok but just feel they could look better. Although I suppose I shouldn't be complaining that £40 TS skinnies suit me more!

blue2711 · 07/06/2012 13:20

Amber, I need that scarf hanger in my life!

Russianred · 07/06/2012 13:23

It's probably because your legs are slimmer than mine Blue! I am quite chunky in the calf, so I welcome the lower leg looseness - Jamies look beyond awful on me!

blue2711 · 07/06/2012 13:26

Ah, you see my thighs are comparatively much bigger than my ridiculously skinny calves...

red I'd be up for doing a colour / style day sometime if you're up for it. We might be too far apart though. Really think hopefully and everything should travel the country administering consultations to W and A members...

AmberNectarine · 07/06/2012 13:28

Here it is, blue.

Big 811 fan here, have three pairs - red, cobalt and fuschia. Really good fit for my relatively slim waist and, ahem, more generous thighs and bottom...

Russianred · 07/06/2012 13:37

Sometime in the next year I reckon Blue. Probably by Christmas-time when the household funds are running on a more even keel. If you're ok to wait till then, I'd definitely be up for it. Must be a mid-way point somewhere.

MarshaBrady · 07/06/2012 13:40

Red yes to mid-July. I'd love to an outside drink in the late evening.

Which date is good for you? (cranks up mu engine again, ever the optimist)

I'm not sure why my pm didn't make it to you btw! Must have been an extra space in it or something.

Emo76 · 07/06/2012 13:44
