Oh dear Amber - cross posts!

I got repeated tonsilitus when DD was little. I am sure it strikes when you are tired and immunity is low - plus small children seem to harbour lots of germs. Lots of painkillers, gargling and fluids seemed to help. Mine was bacterial so I needed antibiotics.

AmberNectarine · 06/06/2012 08:56

ny yes I have Drs appt this morning. I get it at least once a year, think I might just ask for them out, due to hassle factor!

Hopefully · 06/06/2012 09:47

Poor you Amber, hope you get better quickly.

Will post wish list later...

Am feeling so blobby after two weeks of more or less constant indulgence. Am visibly bigger (and tragically it isn't just water weight - I am well aware of how over calories I've been!). An going to pick the running back up this week alongside Insanity.

Can't believe it's under a month till the first training day for SE and me (just an initial day, proper training is a month later). I am getting SO excited Grin

pickledsiblings · 06/06/2012 10:10

Amber, I m suffering with a sore throat here too, voice keeps coming and going and I had my tonsils out years ago. Agree with NY that you are most likely run down, try to get to bed early and nap during the day if you can.

Ladies, I have decided this morning that I will not be wafting on Friday. A combination of a ballet exam practice lesson for DD, the fact that I can't leave one DC at home and... the hairdresser just rang and said that Friday is the only day she can do this week .

I will be sorry to miss you all and look forward to hearing about it all on here. Thanks Annie and Marsha for keeping me in the loop and I hope you get good weather for the occasion.

MarshaBrady · 06/06/2012 10:41

Annie and I have made contact. Annie has suggested a plan B.

Will pm later on.

blossoming · 06/06/2012 11:01

Hi everyone. Glad you had a good time ny. I've bookmarked your hotel.
Sorry you're poorly amber.
Just an update on my heart rate monitor. I was mortified at the start that I'd been overestimating calorie burn quite significantly: 134 for Shred for example whereas MFP was giving much higher, and about half for mountain biking too. Then today I put it on before getting the dcs ready to go to town food shopping, and lo and behold it says I burnt 300 cals in those 80 minutes!
No wonder I have to schedule excercise into my day when I'm at work. In a way it was easier to incorporate excercise when at home, doing the school run etc. It also helps that I live on a hill of course, and that dd is pretty heavy in her buggy!

I have sent a pm but it said it would rain today and I am in the garden in shorts. So who knows! Confused

Those who are coming it would be good to know what you prefer. I am flagging, too much organising Grin

Is suburban around? Just wanted to say how great your blog entry on white jeans was. Loved all the pictures. My favourite was denim jacket with red stripy top.

Amber hope you are feeling better. Long time sufferer here too esp when younger. My twin sister got it just once aged 10 and Dr whipped hers out - my Mum is convinced he got the 2 of us mixed up in his head Shock

Cold and rainy here - and Im supposed to be doing the 5km walk for school this evening.

Have brought an off white capped sleeved collarless shirt from Maison Scotch in their sale to channel my inner Leanne Rhimes!

suburban · 06/06/2012 13:20

Hi Ollie just catching up after a weekend of not much internet time. Glad you liked the white jeans post. Really enjoyed reading about your weekend in Brighton. I am intrigued by the whole colour/style days thing. Perhaps when Hopefully is trained up she can do a mass South West analysis for us Smile

So sorry you are ill Amber when you have little ones it seems there is rarely a time when at least one of you isn't ill. My DD is full of cold so I am dosing up on Vitamin C to try and ward it off.

Congratulations Pickled

We had a lovely but low key weekend seeing family and doing DIY. Took DD to a farm park on Monday which also sells livestock and had to drag DP who grew up on a farm away as he was threatening to buy a piglet Hmm.

Off to catch up a bit more now

blue2711 · 06/06/2012 13:31

Poor you amber, I've just recovered from first ever bout of to tonsillitis and it's horrid. Then DS had it and was really poorly. Hope you get better soon.

Who was asking about panama hats. WIT features one identical to my straw trilby today. Mine has a black ribbon too and I love it (the only hat I ever have). Goes with everything and covers the bad holiday hair!

blue2711 · 06/06/2012 13:35

bloss it's good to hear that general DC care burns calories as that's what I always tell myself. Probably run up and down the stairs a hundred times a day too (ok I know I should still exercise but it's better than nothing, right?!)

Zara floral blazer arrived and is great. A small fit but looks good I think. Not sure DH will quite get it though, although he did rate the floral skinnies. Other floral blazer owners, what are you wearing yours with?

You need to leave a gap after the link, then your word, then the two square brackets alwaysrunning. See below, as SE said.
Love the LKB links very much.
I have spent like a loon today. I have looked and looked at my style notes and reckon this jacket in navy could be good for me. And this one in black could be excellent. So have bought both, just to see. I want to emulate the lady to the left of EA in this photo. To that end I went to my favourite my pashmina site and bought a black stole.
I also bought these J Brand black leggings.
You see what happens when I'm left alone with the DCs for an entire day??
Luckily I am going out for the day with them tomorrow, RL shopping and lunch out. Doubt I can do so much damage then. And on Friday it is DHs birthday and we're having a night away. Still thinking of wearing the White Co strapless maxi, and hoping to find appropriate footwear tomorrow.

Ended up having to walk the 5km school walk this evening, luckily in bright sunshine. Nice to chat to some of the other parents but am zzzzz now!

Blue like the sound of your trilby.
NY your weekend sounded so good. Think we will try and come over as a family in October and would like to plan in a couple of days in London.

Fingers crossed for the waft. We have visitors this WE. Have promised them a bike ride, raw herrings (to eat) and lots of Dutch gin!

OllieinOrange · 06/06/2012 21:23

Bloss - thats a brilliant name and topic for a blog!

notyummy · 06/06/2012 21:38

Great news about the night away Bloss but weather not looking good for strapless maxi!! If you are only inside though will be less of an issue. Good work on the clothes ordering!

AmberNectarine · 06/06/2012 21:52

Bit of drama here. Hauled myself and the kids down to Boots to collect my various medicines, next thing I know I'm waking up to a paramedic! Had high temp and racing pulse, and just collapsed. Was treated at the scene and handed over to a very worried DH who has never got home from work so fast. Am doing my best to rest now, though not easy with a demanding bf baby and lively toddler.

blossoming · 06/06/2012 21:56

Oh my goodness amber, how awful for you. Hope you really are resting now.

ollie, you've lost me?

ny, you forget the secret weapon that is the Roxy!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 06/06/2012 22:03

Oh no Amber. Yes you must rest.

I am dithering over the picnic as I envisage a waft in glorious weather, and just can't quite get excited about sitting in a park with rain clouds or actual rain.

I know. It was the image of a perfect day to match those perfect children we have.

The alternative is looking too far for most. SO we just need to decide whether to try and find a central London location or um not.

Good shopping Bloss!
