I'm the same as choceyes and Ephiny

I used to be around 7 st 4- 7st 7. Top weight ever ( unhappy and comfort eating) was 8st.

I am now 7st 11 and need ideally to lose another 3 lbs- it's all round my middle and my upper arms are a sight. Fat hangs over my bra strap at back. I have a tummy which is ALL fat.

I weighed 8st 4 when about to give birth to a healthy 7lb 6oz DS!

Stripped off there is no way that I look thin, and I have quite toned muscly thighs from exercise.

Ameliagrey - wow, you didn't gain much in pregnancy did you?? I weighed nearly 10.5 stones, so I put on nearly 3 stones (with both pregnancies)! Lost all of it within 4 months of having DC1 but only very recenty lost the last stone after DC2 who is 21 months now.
When I got married I weighed 6 stone 12lbs, not due to dieting, but due to a very long commute for work which involved a lot of walking. I did start to look scrawny then, especially around my collar bones.

I'd say you were healthy not fat.

I'm two inches taller that you with the same bust size and I'd be bigger than I'd like at that weight, probably about a size 12. I weigh about 8 1/2 at the moment and am a size 8 so that extra 3/4 stone makes all the difference for me. It depends entirely on your preference and where you carry the weight.

This is why I think the BMI is not great. I have those fat scales that tell you how much body fat you are & i'm about 29% which I believe is verging on obese. Now, I agree that on thighs & bum & now I'm older the love handles, but never on my slim & shapely arms & collar bones.

How you dress makes a big difference to whether you look slim/chunky. But I would love to be in proportion...any one want to swop legs ?! Grin

peachypips · 23/05/2012 20:15

3littlerabbits I salute you and stuff another choc in my mouth whilst nibbling my lettuce

Downandoutnumbered · 23/05/2012 20:21

choceyes, I think I'm very dense (in every possible sense!). I cycle everywhere and my legs and bum are really muscular, so 7st7 is too light for me - I have horrible salt cellar collarbones and you can see the tendons in my neck. It's very ageing.

Flightty · 23/05/2012 20:25

I can't picture you but probably not.

I weigh about 8 and a half and I'm 5ft7

it's going up though as I'm pregnant

bit too skinny here

Flightty · 23/05/2012 20:28

Midnight, I think that is where the preggo weight is going Smile but normally my boobs are smallish (according to DP)(and all his mates)

ameliagrey · 23/05/2012 21:16

Willowsip I think you may be a little confused over your fat scales :)

Are you saying your BMI is 29%?
or are you saying your fat % is 29?

The scales tell you both.

For a woman, fat percentage of around 29-30 is average and a little bit too high- 25-ish would be better.

This is not the same as your BMI.
