Help! MN haircut = mullet!

BrittaPerry · 22/05/2012 13:36

ARGH! I gave myself the MN haircut, dyed it all black/purple, and it looks like a mullet! The short layers are kind of more "pouffy" than the others.

I have a work thing to do tonight where I need to look good (hence the haircut, and I have tried to dye it purple but it has turned nearer to black and so I will have to wear more makeup just to look alive)

WHAT DO I DO????

neds??? ends. really.

LumpyLatimer · 22/05/2012 14:08

Sorry to disagree with previous but in the name of all that's holy and precious do NOT straighten it Shock. STraightening it will draw attention to all the different layers. Tousling, at this juncture, is your friend!

BrittaPerry · 22/05/2012 14:09

Hairdresser not an option - at home with 2yo and then 5yo as well, alone till 6.30, and when DH comes in I have to go to this thing immediately.

Will try the straighteners...

A pixie haircut might suit you.

PlayEatSleep · 22/05/2012 14:09

Sorry X-post

BrittaPerry · 22/05/2012 14:10

EEK - xpost.

No straighteners?

LumpyLatimer · 22/05/2012 14:10

Pin up the back then, and leave the front sort of tousley...poor you!

Oh my God when will people leave straighteners alone

LumpyLatimer · 22/05/2012 14:10

I also agree with PLayEatSleep. You have a nice little face - you know, a little one, an elegant small one, not a damned great clownish one like mine that needs lots of hair all over it.

Could you get a mobile hairdresser to come round?

If not I think an up do would be the best option

PlayEatSleep · 22/05/2012 14:12

Honestly, I think you should try and tie your hair up for tonight. And get to a hairdresser when you can. You have fine features and I think you would really suit a pixie cut.

pictish · 22/05/2012 14:12

Can't you take the kids to the salon? I do.

peggyblackett · 22/05/2012 14:13

Definitely an up do. I would try and twist and pink the shorter layers down so that they blend in IYSWIM.

Make an appointment for the hairdresser see now.

LumpyLatimer · 22/05/2012 14:13

I can see you having it converted into something a little like this, only a little shorter.

For now, pinning up the back will give teh same effect - then you can have the back nicely cut and shaped.

RachelWalsh · 22/05/2012 14:14

I'd lose the parting at the front and brush it more forward, maybe use the straighteners on the fringe if necessary? End up with something like this

What made you do it? I saw the pictures one the dm and thought it made the l
Woman look like pat bloody sharp!

You look a lot better than she did but your must be bloody brave to have even attempt it.

Straighten it.

peggyblackett · 22/05/2012 14:14

Agree that a pixie cut would really suit you - you're lucky.

tittytittyhanghang · 22/05/2012 14:15

Dont cut any more off it. Go to a hairdressers when you have time. For tonight i would suggest <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?hl=en&sa=X&biw=1092&bih=514&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=oiOfd1km7RiIaM:&imgrefurl=syailah.blogspot.com/2011/11/prom-updo-hairstyles-for-short-hair.html&docid=VUjNEqJY_dnG2M&imgurl=4.bp.blogspot.com/-QWblcjNZDdU/Tbp6I5GoSBI/AAAAAAAAK5w/bZbh1RE8XV0/s1600/2011_wavy_updo_hairstyle_pictures_updo-hairstyles-for-hot4.jpg&w=330&h=495&ei=7pC7T7nbAYjX8QOg4OmeCg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=773&vpy=130&dur=1940&hovh=275&hovw=183&tx=104&ty=271&sig=114857164073484842903&page=1&tbnh=157&tbnw=120&start=0&ndsp=14&ved=1t:429,r:12,s:0,i:97" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this at the front and try pinning the back up with lots of kerbies,

RachelWalsh · 22/05/2012 14:15

Like these I mean.

Then I'd go to the hairdressers ASAP if not sooner! But you have lovely fine pixie-ish features so you will really suit a shorter do I think :)

Methe · 22/05/2012 14:15

And I agree with whoever said you would suit a pixie cut :)

PlayEatSleep · 22/05/2012 14:17

Agree with titty. Don't cut anymore. Just pin.

LumpyLatimer · 22/05/2012 14:17
