Have Alexander McQueen skull scarves had their day? I've been looking for a navy and grey scarf for some time and have come across this

www.alexandermcqueen.co.uk/scarf-boutique/skull-scarves/ACF,en_GB,sc.html?scarf3d=false

Which would be perfect in terms of colour, but wonder if the style has been copied to much now?

Yes, you can get lookalikes in Primark now, so they've definitely had their day.

thebestisyettocome · 16/05/2012 21:52

I had one which I loved and wore every day. Then the lookalikies came out so I stopped wearing mine some months ago < sobs>

KenDoddsDadsDog · 16/05/2012 21:55

I haven't worn mine for ages but might dig it out again.

suntodayplease · 17/05/2012 09:10

Hmmm, mixed thoughts. Has anyone seen any scarves with similar colouring? The colours are perfect as I seem to live in shades of navy, grey and white!
Thanks

I have not worn mine in ages and I don't think that they have had there day

MrsCampbellBlack · 17/05/2012 09:47

Well I still love mine and to be honest primark copy everything so it doesn't put me off wearing the 'original'.

AmberNectarine · 17/05/2012 10:26

I have two and wear them regularly, often together!

ishopthereforeiam · 17/05/2012 10:51

I still wear mine from time to time - you can clearly see the difference between a genuine item and the Primark imitations. I don't think they've had their day...

I have the dark purple / ivory one.

suntodayplease · 17/05/2012 13:59

Thanks for your responses, may have to order now!

DonaAna · 17/05/2012 17:57

You can find them in my local vintage shop Wink

MrsCampbellBlack · 17/05/2012 18:36

I wouldn't trust one from ebay.

They sometimes turn up on the outnet.

lumbago · 17/05/2012 18:50

O no. Obv a fake one ;)

EldonAve · 17/05/2012 20:23

noddyholder · 17/05/2012 22:41

startail · 17/05/2012 22:50

I hate skulls and you are posting £165 skulls.Confused

Llareggub · 17/05/2012 22:55

I don't get the love for these scarfs at all.

Llareggub · 17/05/2012 22:56

FFS, scarves. What am I doing?

CaoNiMa · 18/05/2012 10:43

165 quid for a flimsy scarf! Are you having a laugh?? I'd expect it to rival the Bayeux tapestry in detail and weight for that price.

FourYolksAche · 18/05/2012 10:46

I would love one. I think it depends if you're the sort of person who looks like they wear genuine things iyswim. I have both genuine and fake bags so people assume they're all real actually they probably assume they're all fake

Lulumama · 18/05/2012 10:47

I've got a black with hot pink skull, I love skulls, have a bit of a thing for them, and DH got me the scarf as a treat a couple of years ago. I do have cheap versions too, but if you like them, and want one and your children won't go without food so you can buy one, knock yourself out !
