Hello, it's Advantage points splurge time and I'd like to try a new perfume. I love Thierry Mugler Angel, and Agent Provocateur (the pink one) and CK One too, and that's about as adventurous as I've got so far.

What would you recommend I try next?

Thanks.

I love Angel too. The other perfumes I really like are:

Lolita Lempicka (in the lime green box with a purple apple shaped bottle)
Chanel Allure and also Allure Sensuelle is really nice.
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle
Christian Dior Dune
Vivienne Westwood Boudoir (love love love this one)

Viktor & Rolf 'Flowerbomb' is popular with people who like Angel, although it's not really my taste - worth a try though.

For something lighter, I like Estee Lauder Pure White Linen. Also love Estee Lauder Knowing, although I see that as an older woman's fragrance because my mum wears it.

Gucci Guilty is my latest and I love it! Hugo Boss Orange for daytime, it's nice and fresh.

EllenParsons · 16/05/2012 16:09

Maybe the Jimmy Choo one? Haven't tried it myself but I keep meaning to and apparently it is quite sweet so you might like it if you like Angel.

You could try Thierry Mugler Womanity if you like Angel and Agent Provocateur seem to have new ones out at the moment.

It depends if you are looking for something light and summery if so issey miyaki is a good one if you want something more flowery then Flowerbomb or flower by kenzo are good choices. If you want something more long lasting I would go for allure by Chanel and flora by Gucci or Pravda amber are also good. Blush can you tell I'm a bit obsessed with perfume.

EclecticShock · 16/05/2012 16:21

I haven't moved on from agent provocateur one, love it. Thought I might have liked flowerbomb but too sweet for me. Rock n rose isnt bad.

cahu · 16/05/2012 18:56

Versace bright crystal or D&G Light Blue... Both light and summery and clean smelling. A bit heavier.... One of the Chloes with the ribbon on the bottle.

I've got a thing about Lady Million by Paco Rabanne at the moment. Awful name and horribly garish bottle/packaging but I love the smell and it really lasts on my skin for ages.

justtryingtodomybest · 16/05/2012 20:20

I absolutely love Flowerbomb and get so many compliments when I'm wearing it

DressDownFriday · 16/05/2012 20:24

Jimmy Choo smells divine. DH got mixed up at Christmas and bought me something else so I'm waiting for my hols to buy it (holiday tradition to buy new perfume).

anniewoo · 16/05/2012 21:11

As my least favourite perfume in the world is Angel- I won't be very helpful. Pur olfactory tastes are so different. Tho' CK one is lovely

Peppin · 16/05/2012 21:21

Try L.I.L.Y. the new one by Stella McCartney. It's sort of floral but not too girly.

I normally wear Coco by Chanel, but smelt the new Diane by Diane Vom Furstenberg recently and had to buy it. Again, has floral notes but with a woody, almost spicy base. Lovely.

For a fresher scent, you could try the new Eau de Chloe which is lovely and crisp. A nice day scent.

catgirl1976 · 16/05/2012 21:30

Tom Ford Black Orchid is amazing

Springforward · 16/05/2012 21:36

I adore Chanel Chance at the mo.

cheeseandpineapple · 16/05/2012 21:40

Jo Malone ones are gorgeous, you can wear them on their own or "layer" them ie mix them up, mainly fruity and floral scents, very fresh and uplifting, I'm always asked what I'm wearing when I have Jo Malone on.

They also do candle versions, handbag sizes and bath stuff so you can get a fix of your favourite scent in loads of different ways.

I think I am alone in the world in loathing Jo Malone. I want so badly to like the stuff in there, I love the idea of the boutiquey little shop and all the lovely packaging etc, but I can't bear any of the fragrances (believe me I have tried and tried to fall in love with them but I just can't). Sad

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 16/05/2012 22:20

Chanel Allure, but the perfume not the eau de toilette, is my most favourite perfume.

ethelb · 16/05/2012 22:21

i got complimented twice on chanel allure sensuelle today.

it is sexy and adult without being frumpy. It costs though.....

itdidntworkout · 16/05/2012 22:24

Can you describe yourself, hair colour, age, occupation - I really think it makes a difference.

Day or night scent?

HappyGirlNow · 16/05/2012 22:36

Armani Mania. Love it!

cheeseandpineapple · 16/05/2012 22:43

I was a late convert to Jo Malone but now there's no looking back.

Perfumes are my guilty pleasure, I have an array of them but if I could only have one it would be a Jo Malone.

Emsyj, what a shame for you, I'm not fussed by the branding, although it is lovely, I just like the fragrances, they're very authentic. You really get what's on the label.

Do you prefer musky, less fruity scents?

I have an unused bottle of coco mademoiselle which I'm just not into on me but like it on others (must give it to a friend).

The wrong scent on me makes me nauseous, literally feel sick if it's too heavy.

Years ago when Poison was the rage, I got into a cab and the driver started coughing and spluttering and winding down his windows saying how he couldn't stand Poison, he recognised it instantly. Never wore it again and ironically it makes me feel pretty sick now if I smell it on someone else!

emsyj · 16/05/2012 22:47

I like Coco Mademoiselle - we must have total opposite tastes! Grin

DH bought Allure Sensuelle for me and I loved loved loved it but wore it for work at a really shite job that I have now left and every time I smell it, the memories flood back! I'm Sad about that because it is absolutely gorgeous.

cheeseandpineapple · 16/05/2012 23:01

I should send you my unused bottle of coco mm!
