Hello, it's Advantage points splurge time and I'd like to try a new perfume. I love Thierry Mugler Angel, and Agent Provocateur (the pink one) and CK One too, and that's about as adventurous as I've got so far.

What would you recommend I try next?

Thanks.

Emsyj I agree with you about Jo Malone! I love the look of the bottles, the shop etc... but somehow I just haven't really got on with any of the actual fragrances that I have tried!

MrsSeanBean · 17/05/2012 00:51

OP - how about Thierry Mugler 'Alien'? (The bottle can be refilled as well :-) )

emsyj · 17/05/2012 08:45

Feel free, cheeseandpineapple! Wink Grin

Glad it's not just me with the Jo Malone - I'm a sucker for pretty packaging and the clean white lovely shop, just really disappointed that I don't like any of the fragrances.

what about Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte? It's got a slight green tea/ fresh scent without the bitterness of the original Cristalle.

mammanetta · 17/05/2012 13:51

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue - green apple, jasmine and white rose (apparently) very fresh and uplifting - can't leave the house without it :)

I wear Balenciaga and the new choe one which a lovely Mumsnetter sent me (miniture)

I tried Madonnas new perfume in Boots yesterday & regretted it immediately. It is not nice at all. Very heavy, overpowering & pungent. So swerve that one.

whackamole · 17/05/2012 17:11

Is it for day or night time? I like a light and fruity one for day - Ed Hardy is nice, as is Vera Wang Lovestruck. For evenings and when I am 'dressed up' I like Chanel - Chance, or Allure (which I haven't got at the moment).

Wow, loads of ideas, thanks all! itdidntworkout i'm 36, dark hair, tall, dress/look about 10 yrs younger or so i'm told!

It's more of a daytime/anytime scent i'm after as w two dc under 3 i don't get out much in the evening!

I've just got a Guerlain one: Basil and Mandarin. Sounds like a salad dressing but actually quite light and pleasant, but not a Grand Parfum.
I usually wear Vera Wang.

The problem is all 3 are very different types! For something in Angel's type I would suggest Flowerbomb EDP (Victor and Rolf), Jimmy Choo EDP or Gucci guilty Intense. Agent (I assume the original pink one not Eau Emotionelle?) is a more classic musc; Narcisso Rodriguez For Her? Or Chergui by Serge Lutens? Ck 1 is light and fresh, utterly different again! Eau de Cartier, Leau Serge - Serge Lutens or Pure - DKNY. Bloody difficult though because you don't seem to have a type IYSWIM? I hate trying to hate people who give a mix like this at work! Grin

I love Angel too. Have you tried Womanity also by Thierry Mugler. Really unusual, like Angel, very gorgeous and always gets lots of comments!

I was also recommended Flowerbomb, tried it in Boots, fell in love with it and then saw the price tag!!

The Fragrance Shop are refilling Angel bottles for £26 at the mo. Going to get mine refilled for my hols!

Emsyj, I had another whiff of my coco mm, to see if I could be persuaded to give it a bash but it's official, it really isn't my cup of tea, my dh bought it for me recently on way back from a trip duty free, sweet of him but shame to have a whole bottle go untouched. I'm going to see if any of my friends here fancy it but if not, when I'm next back in the uk (I live overseas), I will pm you for your address and post it to you!

emsyj · 18/05/2012 22:53

Ah how sweet!
