Which do you recommend?

I want it to be easy to apply, not smell unpleasant, and actually last all day.

Is this possible?

Clinique cityblock. Not cheap, but very good, if quite heavy duty.

Trills · 10/05/2012 17:57

Sorry, I meant for all over, not just face (I'm going to Seville and the weather forecast looks like this - it's only supposed to be high 20s)

Ooops. I like Ambre Solaire ones. HTH!

cornflower123 · 10/05/2012 18:05

Would love to go to Seville by the way.....

Trills · 10/05/2012 18:07

It's going to be lovely :)

Piz Buin 1 Day Long - very good stuff, and I have skin the colour of the whitest white!

Lovetats · 10/05/2012 18:39

P20. We used this in Nigeria (including three very pale children) and nobody burned - except me when I forgot to put it on my legs. I burned so badly, I've still got the scars which makes this product all the more amazing.

HauntedLittleLunatic · 10/05/2012 18:41

Piz buin is very good but double check cos I think it is 6hr (as many 'once a day' products are)

blackteaplease · 10/05/2012 18:54

Agree with p20 but make sure you let it soak in or it stains white clothes yellow

Ben10NeverAgain · 10/05/2012 19:01

Superdrug Once a day is fantastic. Doesn't P20 not stop one of the rays, don't know whether it is UVA or UVB?

shottspar · 10/05/2012 19:07

I've used Ultrasun in the past, you can get it from John Lewis or Amazon. It doesn't stain your clothes and really works - even on a red headed, blue skinned person like me! I used Factor 30 and didn't burn at all when I was in Spain last year.

squareegg · 10/05/2012 19:12

P20 changed so now does both Uva and uvb, its amazing!

zanz1bar · 10/05/2012 19:22

La Roche Posay Athelios 50+ UVA and UVB
Very light fluid, no White smears, very good for sensitive skin acne/ rosacea.
Boots.

Thanks for the suggestions :)

How were the canaries? I went to Lanzarote in September (during the week when it was hot here, irritatingly) and it was lovely and relaxing.

I use the stuff from Lidl - it's brilliant.

Trills · 10/05/2012 19:41

I don't have a Lidl nearby so the budget version is not an option

Ultrasun - you don't need anything else. We used the Super Sensitive Family Formula last year on me (olive skinned but can burn to start with), DH who would burn on a February day in Scotland, and twin 18mos. None of us burnt at all, it was excellent and didn't stain clothes. Had tried P20 but found it made everything go yellow and really stung if you got it in the eye.

MaryBS · 10/05/2012 19:46

Piz Buin every time. I used to be a fan of P20, but this is far better!

supernannyisace · 10/05/2012 19:50

I like both P20 and Ultrasun.

I am v lazy at applying sunscreen - so it works well for us.

DowagersHump · 10/05/2012 19:51

I used to be a Piz Buin fan but have switched to P20. The sand doesn't stick to your legs and it's much more water resistant than PB

CupOfBrownJoy · 10/05/2012 19:55

P20 is excellent. I've used it at the height of summer in the tropics and not burned (and I'm very fair). I wouldn't use it on my face though.

Put it on nice and early in the morning and let it dry thoroughly though.

Maraki · 10/05/2012 20:57

I just bought ultrasun. Do I need to reapply after swimming and drying? (hope this is not a v stupid question). Thanks
