Sorry, this isn't the first time I've asked this of late but what colour shoes would you go for with this dress?
www.warehouse.co.uk/embellished-bodice-soft-prom./Occasion/warehouse/fcp-product/307755

I am useless at putting colours together and all I can think of is nude but that feels a bit boring. Any suggestions please?
am not very good at this sort

Dress

I would go cream vintagey feel. I am really bored of nude heels too. Maybe something like this?

Gorgeous dress.

MrsCampbellBlack · 08/05/2012 19:59

Pretty dress!

Metallic - dull gold or bronze perhaps?

MrsLettuce · 08/05/2012 20:17

white slingbacks and a gold, maybe?

MrsLettuce · 08/05/2012 20:18

gold bag. I think a bag in deeper shade of coral than the dress might be better though

MrsLettuce · 08/05/2012 20:27

gold again

suede bow
deeper colour and not as fussy
impossible to find the right shade unless you look IRL

impossible to find the right shade unless you look IRL really, there are so many about this season though.

ShuckingFattered · 08/05/2012 20:34

Thanks. I saw a bag similar to the Dune one in New Look today, MrsLettuce but I wasn't sure if it was too matchy. What about a deeper coral pair of shoes or would that be too much? I'm off to have a look now...

If you want to be bang on trend white is the new nude! Something a bit boxy and graphic like this www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/uk/en/zara-S2012/190056/789515/HIGH%2BHEEL%2BSANDAL

Or a more vintage look like this www.thatindielook.com/acatalog/Vintage_1980_s_White_Court_Shoes_5.html#nogo

ShuckingFattered · 08/05/2012 20:44

I like the first ones Girlgonewild but as I'm really short ankle straps don't work.

Would pink work with Coral, or am I clutching at straws here!

OP posts:
MrsLettuce · 08/05/2012 21:02

You could have coral shoes but white would be much, much better. Not shoes and bag though.

That said, these and a coral bag might just work: coral for you, white(ish) for me Wink

MrsLettuce · 08/05/2012 21:03

coral for you, white(ish) for me

ShuckingFattered · 08/05/2012 21:07

Oh, now those I like a lot Grin. Right I'm off too look at Zara. Have a big store near me too!

OP posts:
MrsLettuce · 08/05/2012 21:07

FFS Letuice, those those are wrong. would look like you'd tried to match the dress exactly and failed. Please ignore me Hmm

White shoes & deep coral bag would be best.

MrsLettuce · 08/05/2012 21:09

Sorry, was too late. They are utterly beautiful and they do them in a mint green to. Actually, if you can take the dress to the shoes IRL that could work. Not the coral though. Sorry about that.

ShuckingFattered · 08/05/2012 21:16

Bugger. You're right though. OK, white it is and I will hunt out the coral bag I saw too. This is far too complicated... I knew attempting to find an outfit for a work do was going to be difficult. I should have declined!

OP posts:
MrsLettuce · 08/05/2012 21:35

Oh, is it a work do? Posh or just 'naice'? Thought it was a wedding - haven't seen any other threads. No need to go to go to the trouble with the coral bag then, if it's not a posh do. too much hassle. A slouchy (lighter) tan shoulder bag would probably be fine!

ShuckingFattered · 08/05/2012 21:52

No it's posh Sad. Think satin ball gowns to the floor and dj's. I am bucking the trend with knee length cos I am a fair bit younger than most and too short to wear a full length dress. Plus I don't have £££'s to spend and I can wear this to a wedding in the summer!

OP posts:
MrsLettuce · 08/05/2012 22:00

Right. That was vital info Wink

You certainly haven't made it easy for yourself! It's a lovely dress just the hardest I've ever seen a bit tricky too accesorise.

Good luck! You will be stunning.

Bet we could get you in a good full length job with fab accessories for less cash and less hassle

MrsLettuce · 08/05/2012 22:38

this, the beautiful-but-wrong-for-the-coral-dress shoes you so loved and wanted, pastel yellow bag and this.

Would save about 60 quid and be perfect for wedding and work do.

This OTOH is too short for the work do (fuck 'em), perfect with the zara shoes and nice for a wedding. silver bag silver earrings. Done. Maybe 80 quid cheaper than an outfit with the beautiful warehouse coral dress. A bit less if you added a vintage-looking diamante broach too finish it.

ShuckingFattered · 09/05/2012 07:21

Why would you do that Grin

I love the long dp dress but I am 4' 11'' with really short legs and anything long just makes me look weird - almost like I've been cut off at the knees (I have the wedding dress pictures to prove it Blush)

Thank you for all your help. You won't click on one of my threads again will you!

OP posts:
MrsLettuce · 09/05/2012 07:36

I will! I like a challenge Grin

Have a great time.
