Micro pedi - have I been conned or what !

Saw this advertised on TV and read good reviews on Amazon.

Bought the last one on the shelf from my local Boots (always a good sign , I thought, if it's selling well).

The packaging also persuaded me. To quote........ "removes the roughest of skin in seconds"

WHAT AN UTTER PACK OF LIES !

Absolutely pants ! If you apply any pressure to the roller to get it to engage with the rough skin on the foot, it prevents the roller from rotating resulting in no buffing away of any skin whatsoever.

All it is capable of is lightly skimming the surface of the foot skin resulting in a teeny tiny bit of skin surface smoothing. This also takes a long time, not "seconds".

I'm mightily pissed off that I can't find the receipt to return it as not fit for purpose and as I didn't buy it from Amazon I can't leave a blisteringly accurate warning for other horny hoofed desperados with summer approaching.

I fear I will be buying a B&Q detail sander instead !

Get the soap and glory one as recommended on here. It's great!

There are reviews on Boots online so you can give feedback at least.

I fear Boots will not post what I have to say about the poxy waste of£40.

Has anyone had any success with the gadget and if so what was the state of your (foot) hard skin to start with ?

Lightly stroke doublebase gel over your feet morning and night. The skin will go. Takes a few to work but gives you baby soft feet.

I'd take it back even without a recipt and offer to give them a demo of how shite it is in the shops. I think you can leave reviews on Amazon without actually having bought the product from there.

I have an electric pedi thingy and it's fab. It's a spinning disc, like a mini sander.

2 weeks of daily use and I have no hard skin at all. I maintain it by using it 2/3 times per week and it only takes a few minutes.

You can still leave a review on Amazon! You are reviewing the product after all.

I bought the Soap and Glory one the other day, I was practically hyperventilating when I got there as they haven't had any in for months.

How disappointing though. I hate it when you feel conned.

The micro pedi is rubbish. Best thing i have ever used is this blade callus remover (about £3 from ebay). I then use the soap and glory file and finish off with a soak and a a scrud with the Newtons chiropody sponge. Babysoft feet for the first time in years. My feet were gross though, they were that rough that they actually ripped tights.

Yeah I had the exact same thing, I thought it was rubbish and no good when you apply pressure etc. I'd taken batteries out of the tv remote (which worked fine in the remote), but I've just put brand new batteries in and it was amazing, like all the reviews said. You might have already tried this and just have a faulty one but worth swapping batteries for new ones if you haven't already :-)

I bought one a few weeks ago on the back of a s&b thread. My feet are beyond awful. Full of hard skin and cracks. I have been doing the mico pedi every day, with flexitol heel balm twice a day, for about a week. My feet are transformed and I am converted. It takes time to do my feet, as they are dire, but now they're beyond recognition.

As Ange says, make sure the batteries are new ones, there is a noticeable difference with older ones.

I have a micro pedi and love it! But haven't had any issues with the barrel stopping - maybe yours is faulty, or batteries old?

ENormaSnob - can you link to it, please? I love my Micro Pedi but my heels are fine so I use it on my toes which get hard skin.

I also got the Margaret Dabbs foot file which is great and has replaceable pads.

Of course, even though it's been nice out, it's still not warm enough for me to wear sandals as my feet go a bit blue if chilly. Wish there were something I could do about that.

those who are mis - using it will not see results same for those who do not have bad feet. I bought the micro pedi for my diabetic mums feet as they are coated in deep hard skin were dry and cracked. I also bought extra rolls coarse and soft yes it took a little bit of time but what a difference and the dead skin was so severe on the towel I caught it on I shook it out on the garden a snow fall for sure. I am ever so impressed as is my mum claims to feel the improvement of her much inflicted feet. if using the micro use gently on dry feet as part of foot care routine.

Footner is the best foot treatment going. Gross, but very effective.

If you got out from Boots then take it back! They are very good at giving refunds, they even refunded me after if bought some insoles that I'd cut.

Don't give up! I wasn't impressed at first. Make sure you have the ultra course roller ( dark grey) from amazon and new batteries. You only need the lightest pressure. 5 minutes on each foot while watching TV followed by high urea foot cream. It does work really.

I prefer a visit to a chiropodist who use sanders and scapegoat to shave skin off.

Scapegoat = scalpel

My husband used a B&Q Sandbug orbital sander on my feet. Ahhh bliss. It took 30 mins to do both feet and believe me they were bad! I feel like a new woman. A touch of E45 to Finnish . Job done! I have tried everything out there but nothing could beat this vibrating sander. If you want to do it B&Q it.

Did he use a chainsaw to cut your toenails too?
