WOW. and thank you! It's amazing - made a really really huge difference and I've only used it five or six times. So grateful to you!

Cyb

I'm using 0.1% of it with 10% Glycolic acid peter thomas roth daily now
I can see a difference...I use a BHA also as I have had pore/blackhead issues

I no longer have visible blackheads or pores on my nose or sides of nose...it's the strangest thing ever ever ever. The pores on forehead are still there...
My 11s are still there in the evening but in the morning my skin is great. My forehead is actually about minus 5 yrs
I had a little scarring on cheeks and sun damage (Ffs) which now seems to be getting better daily

I'm v gentle with washing patting dry now for fear of my face slipping off onto a towel

ggirl · 28/04/2012 16:41

that stuff from the dodgy site...no idea what percentage it is

how reckless am I ?

it says 0.5mg para 1g what does that mean

anyway I have noticed my 11's are no longer noticeable only close up and obv if I frown

Bucharest · 28/04/2012 17:07

ggirl- did I see upthread this stuff is good for wrinkly eyes? Those are my main aged bits...

heroutdoors · 28/04/2012 17:12

This thread has reminded me. Used it years ago and it was fantastic! Must get some more.......
The 0.025 is the safest to start with. The cream, not the gel. The gel is not pleasant to use around your eyes, makes them water.
Also make sure there is no toothpaste residue on your lips, hence the burning
feeling. The two don't mix.
For those of us who cannot go to Asia in person , I will try and buy from the [email protected].
They do not have a website, they are a RL pharmacy in Hong Kong, but will ship all over the world.
They are very good, and will tell you, for instance, if they can only supply a generic, etc.

Do we think we can do this and the acid or is it an either or situation?

cocolepew · 28/04/2012 17:20

Next time I'm up in town I'll try to get to the shop and see if I can get any more info on it, if anyone likes.

heroutdoors · 28/04/2012 17:38

notmost
I would not dare do both. Retin-A is very potent. And will thin the skin.
After all, it is a drug, not just a cosmetic cream.

faustina · 28/04/2012 17:57

oh yes please coco! I assumed 0.5 meant 0.5% - it would be interesting to know

I'm sticking at the retin a heroutdoors. I think ggirl is trying both though

Bucharest, another S&B sheep eyeing this with interest....

YNK · 28/04/2012 18:32

Yes it says 0.5% on mine which is quite strong. I bought 0.1% in Turkey once as well which was better for around the eyes. I only use the strong stuff half the time around the eyes. The gel is no good for this due to the alcohol content.

Wolfordwonder · 28/04/2012 19:33

You can buy it over the counter in any Dubai pharmacy for about £7 - they probably get it there or middle east? It's great stuff. I'm going to get some as mine almost out - a tube lasts me for about a year!

Wolfordwonder · 28/04/2012 19:33

That's Dubai or elsewhere in Middle east!

heroutdoors · 28/04/2012 19:51

Just remembered.
It is not just the sun which your skin will become more sensitive to, when using Retin-A.
Also the wind, rain and cold.
So any dog walkers , out in all weathers, protect your skin very well.

Bucharest · 29/04/2012 09:59

Oooh, my friend is off to Dubai next week.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/04/2012 10:02

Amazon are doing a tretonion (spelling fail) 1%. I dont have active acne but I have slightly pitted skin from allergy rash scarring on my cheeks. Would this do it anygood? or would a 0.5% be better for me?7

Also I use Clinique city block 40spf everyday, would this be enough sun protection?

Thank you.

ggirl · 29/04/2012 12:34

fluffy- I don't think retin-a cream will improve pitted scarring but it certainly wouldn't do any harm. And yes spf40 would suffice I think.

I think pitted scarring is only improved by deep chemical peels that need to be done by a Dr.

I am not definite but It's worth a google to check

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/04/2012 12:42

Oh dear.

lurkingaround · 29/04/2012 19:56

I'm no expert but I think laser is your best bet for scarring. Namely Fraxel. It's quite expensive. I read a post about intracel laser(afaik) a few months ago but I don't know anything about it. Acne scarring, a right nuisance, isn't it?

PerryCombover · 30/04/2012 14:59

Maybe I'm kidding myself but the retin a plus aha is having some effect on my scarring

SeaHouses · 30/04/2012 15:15

How much retin A is in Protect and Perfect then? I am worried I damaged my skin a few years ago by using it without sun block.

I don't know whether to go for Retin A or the acid thing. My main aim is to sort out my massive pores, not wrinkles. I might have wrinkles, but they're probably obscured by the vast pores. Which should I use?

I would be a bit fearful of using both.

ggirl · 30/04/2012 18:46

perry -what aha cream are you using?

ggirl · 30/04/2012 18:47

seahouses-Don't think there would be that much retin-a in the no7 cream.
It would have to be a small enough amount to not need a prescription.

AmberLeaf · 30/04/2012 18:52

Has anyone used Avibon?
