Got the summer Boden catalogue this morning in the post.

Flicked it open not expecting to like anything and find that I like pretty much all of it and want to buy it all.

The last few catalogues have been pretty meh for me but there is loads I could see myself in this time, especially liking the Garland dress and the maxi dress.

I felt the complete opposite. Increasingly they seem uninspired and over priced. Even the quality of many of the things isn't that good anymore. I used to buy a few things mainly in the sale every catalogue but these days there are so many other options at a better price. I've always found their dresses too long and their trousers old fashioned. Sorry Boden, you're dumped!

mrsebojones · 18/04/2012 19:40

haha! I'm the other way round right now. Used to buy lots from Boden for myself and DC but have found less I like this season and have now decided to try weaning myself off his catalogues completely!

HappyAsEyeAm · 18/04/2012 19:54

Since they've started their petite range, I'm buying loads. Always waiting for the best offer as I'm spending so much!

AppleHEAD · 18/04/2012 20:40

I liked it but it's insanely expensive. I won't be able to buy even mini Boden

Agree Mrs Fruitcake - didnt think much to the original stuff but today have ordered portofino dress in cream picnic (although that colour way may be too girly for me ) holiday maxi dress in French blue that looks lovely , the towelling hoody always thought they should make one for grown ups and the tipped blazer in blue stripe . I live in Channel Islands so get vat off too so 31% off today which makes the prices more realistic Smile

Northernlurker · 18/04/2012 22:00

There's a jersey tunic I have my eye one. Really happy with the stuff I've bought recently.

polyhymnia · 18/04/2012 22:19

Which jersey tunic do you have your eye on?

Morgan · 18/04/2012 22:49

I saw them as I have worn to death my winter one but not keen on the patterns

southeastastra · 18/04/2012 22:52

i like the kimono dress

Morgan · 18/04/2012 23:02

Oh no now ordered tunic in pebble and wedges in Truffle Bargain at£53 instead of £99 - hopefully will go with maxi dress for a posh'ish cricket do on 1 July - that's 3 orders today as ordered some shoes for my daughter too - yikes Grin

Morgan · 18/04/2012 23:03

Southeastastra - I had the corner turned down on that page too but didn't order wasn't sure which colour to go for .

Northernlurker · 18/04/2012 23:20

Yup the fab jersey tunic - in moss or prune - definately looks like a me kind of pattern. I'm really pleased with the funky knitted tunic btw - got it in two colours Blush

CointreauVersial · 19/04/2012 00:04

MrsF, I have to say, I was strangely tempted by quite a few of the summer items too. Not so many shouty prints; quite a few more subdued items. Possibly too much linen (which looks gorgeous on for about 20 minutes, after which you start to resemble a dishcloth).

I may have to hang on for the sale, as per usual. Why is it so damned expensive?

AlpinePony · 19/04/2012 06:53

Jersey, jersey, jersey and assorted cheap mixes. :(

And would it fucking kill them to at least hint at a waistline?

polyhymnia · 19/04/2012 10:54

northernlurker, I too like the funky tunic and have two! I have a large hourglass figure and hate 'tents', but the waist certainly goes in enough on that one.

Had a chat about the colours of the fab jersey tunics with a nice woman on Boden phones who told me the moss is in fact a bright green, though it looks a nice soft colour online. That put me off, but may not put you off if you like bright green. She thought the prune was the nicest colour-way, so I'm thinking of that - only thing which worries me are the coral touches (I don't like brights, which is unfortunate at this point in fashion!). Pebble looks quite nice, but I think the yellow wouldn't complement my blonde hair.

I have the glam jersey tunic in blue and those colours are lovely - looks good with the Boden navy linen crops. Would have preferred it without plastic 'adornments' but, because the colours ar so nice and subtle, not garish, they do blend in pretty well.

Mopswerver · 19/04/2012 14:16

Agree AlpinePony. Their dresses are shapeless and their trousers are...well, boring. I don't think I've ever bought anything that fits really well. I think I'm a pretty straightforward size 10 though at 5'3 (and a half!) I am obviously way too short.

drywhiteplease · 19/04/2012 15:31

Johnny seems to have dumped me!!!!Sad dispute making a few recent purchases I don't receive the catalogue any more!!!at least I can be tempted I suppose.

drywhiteplease · 19/04/2012 15:32

Meant cant

orangina · 19/04/2012 15:39

Lucky you drywhite...... today I got that email and I found myself writing back to them to tell them that their website ought to refer to a "waist" rather than a "waste"....

(pedant alert)

Northernlurker · 19/04/2012 16:21

Mops - I'm a size 22 5ft 3 and can find stuff that fits. Mind you - I've never dared try the trousers yet.......

Mopswerver · 19/04/2012 16:35

Even the dresses Northernlurker? When I say never fits properly, some of the tops have been OK but not so great that I really love them if u know what I mean. Apart from one yellow hoody that I wore until it frayed!

drywhiteplease · 19/04/2012 17:32

orangina an Eaton education and he can't spell Shock

drywhiteplease · 19/04/2012 17:33

Sonotkylie · 19/04/2012 17:58

Orangina, I so nearly did that too! Glad he didn't get away with it
