Got the summer Boden catalogue this morning in the post.

Flicked it open not expecting to like anything and find that I like pretty much all of it and want to buy it all.

The last few catalogues have been pretty meh for me but there is loads I could see myself in this time, especially liking the Garland dress and the maxi dress.

Orangina, I so nearly did that too! Glad he didn't get away with it

I have H cup boobs so I buy the dresses that 'drape' rather than 'fit' Mops - that's maybe why the ones I've bought have worked? I love Boden actually because I can buy a 22, looking at the cut on line, and know that it will work with my figure. An awful lot of places seem to cut size 22s without thinking at all how it will fit!

orangina · 20/04/2012 10:13

I got some ridiculous email back that was clearly computer generated..... the website spelling error has been corrected though!

polyhymnia · 20/04/2012 10:33

Northernlurker I agree on the dresses - and tunics.

Btw, have you decided on the fab jersey tunic yet, and, if so, which colour?

I'm a tall, hourglass 22, don't like 'specialist' plus size labels on the whole, but each season I can get from Boden a few tunics and maybe one or two dresses that really suit me and aren't tent-like. Plus some cardis and great belts and smetimes shoes and bags. These are really useful, and often enjoyable, additions to my wardrobe. Whatever Boden's shortcomings, I think they're really to be applauded for doing Size 22.

Nevertheless, with the dresses I often have to send back at least half a dozen before I find 'the' one. While I can tell online which styles definitely won't suit my figure some of the ones that look as if they will prove to be too short in the body when they arrive.

I get paid next week so will order then. i think prune with moss maybe too if I like it

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 20/04/2012 11:43

it is overpriced, but the dresses are a great length for us taller folk. admittedly some of the prints are a bit much, but there are always lots of simple plain dresses too.

Bluepetticoat · 20/04/2012 13:23

Not inspired. Have ordered 2 dresses but thinking hard about each.

Dresses are often an dd fit for me- I need an 8 or a 10 but the 10 hips are often too wide. Who has 38 hips if they are a size 33-34 up top? Made for pear shapes I think.

I'd also like dresses that are not empire line aka Jane Austin style, or shapeless shifts. I work hard at staying in shape and I damn well want to show it off.

My order arrived but sending most do it back - the shoes look cheap I'm afraid nice colour but don't like the trim colour, tunic colour is terrible on me , portofino dress is too girly BUT the holiday maxi is great and love th blues so have ordered neither blue one too . Managed to order shorts for my daughter in age 1 1/2 instead of 8 so had to order them again. Also got 15% off online today .

hattymattie · 20/04/2012 15:22

Got wax jacket in recent promo - contrary to my expectations it fits and looks great - very pleased. Agree there is a lot of overpriced stuff though and do not like the recent veering towards viscose.

Northernlurker · 05/05/2012 15:08

Ok I liked the tunic in prune so have ordered Moss as well as it was in low stock and it's now or never! Grin If it's too green it can go back.

Anewnamenow · 05/05/2012 15:26

Ok I've wanted to ask this for w while, how do you wear a tunic, alone? with leggings? Jeans?
Thanks

polyhymnia · 05/05/2012 17:27

I wear mine with skinny jeans. Too tall to wear any as dresses.

Northernlurker · 05/05/2012 18:15

Depending on the tunic I wear mine with jeans, trousers or leggings. My legs are short and round basically but the tunics come to a decent length and my 14 year old daughter approves so I think it's an ok look.
