Sorry about thread title. Hope everyone is back from holidays soon and will find us here.

amber Which JBrands did you get?

bonsoir I tried on those two tops in Cos before Easter and was tempted too. Bought a simple navy dress in Cos and shoes, which are not on the website Hmm. Will return this top. Cos is great at the moment I think.

Decameron · 12/04/2012 11:50

Hi, I'm alive! Dd1 using the laptop so will post later.

blue2711 · 12/04/2012 12:11

Ooh, DS out, DD sleeping, me sitting on sofa with Brie and crackers and DS's Lindt chocolate rabbits. Just what I need after a tough night.

Mrscb I really really like that bag. I also like the Evelina in cream although it's woefully impractical. Would you believe I'm still hankering after the Rosie though... I just really want a small cross body bag that I actually feel chic using. Also still wondering about this D and G Lily?

And this is also nice and about the same price as nylon Rosie with my discount code... What to do??

Amber, I do indeed like that skirt but they've all gone now sadly. Jealous that your next big birthday is 30...!

My cream silk top is Zara last year I'm afraid. It is gorgeous, quite loose fitting with a fine jersey back and three quarter length sleeves. I don't have enough loose tops and they do look good with skinnies. I'm loving the loose chambray blouse (Wendy's) with skinnies atm.

Mim I really hope your discomfort eases very soon. I felt terrified at the prospect of having both DC alone to begin with - and it's still not easy now - but I seem to manage somehow and you do sound so capable that I'm sure you'll be fine.

blossoming · 12/04/2012 12:11

I am having lovely lunch on my own in Chester. Ready to hit the shops. Saw gorgeous pink trench in Zara window for those of you with older dd's.

mim, please take care of yourself.

ny and red still away I think fritzi.

Hopefully · 12/04/2012 12:21

MIM I also hated having both DCs alone - between DH's paternity leave, my mother, sister and MIL I managed to avoid it for over 5 weeks Blush. It definitely helped me heal quickly having someone around all the time though. TBH I'm still pret crap at organising us all for the things we do, and DS2 is over a year! That's just my impatience though - FLE will testify that I do most things, including getting ready to leave the house, at about 700mph. How long is it since CS now? Am worrying about your scar. Don't be brave if it's tender! Should be well manageable with a couple of paracetamol at this stage, maybe see doc if it's not?

Blue your Zara top sounds really nice. I could do with a couple more relaxed tops - I wear my Inhabit gauzy cashmere slash neck a lot just because it's my most slouchy top to wear with skinnies, and it's getting a bit warm for it now!

Amber I've been toying with the gold Me and Em maxi. Might order it if I send back much of my kettlewell order.

Speaking of which, kettlewell have changed the shape of their square necked vest and it is no longer as good for me (too classic). If anyone comes across nice square necked vests in good weight jersey, please share! Couple of other good bits, including the square necked tops and might keep the knee length skirt as a good plain useful workhorse - will have to try with heels later though.

VerityBrulee · 12/04/2012 12:32

Argh, ds2 knocked over the 7 week old iMac smashing the screen, ?175 to fix. Between him and the cat's rehydration I have spent a Mulberry in the last 7 days

mim I agree about getting your scar looked at, that doesn't sound right.

blue it's me with the small face and the ray- bans! It's worth looking on their site, very few other manufacturers do sunnies in various sizes. I have others

  • Tom Ford Jennifer's and a Chanel pair with camellias which I can just about get away with but my RBs fit best.

marsha I really want to post a link for you but can't. If you look on the sartorialist, back in January there is a post about a girl, Sofia Hedstrom who runs marathons in dresses Grin I book marked when I read it thinking there's a W&A kind of girl. I love the idea of running but can't get past the look of runners, although I see Liberty have just done a range with Nike!

mrscb fantastic strategy Grin

fritzi I love the VB sequins I use one for my daily shopping, and have made a copy for dd in pale pink linen with silver sequins. The right of passage bag of girls here seems to be Juicy Couture, yuck!

Glad that everyone has been enjoying the hols, I'm looking forward to a few more relaxing mornings before the onslaught of school again.

OllieinOrange · 12/04/2012 13:27

So who wants to hear proof, if further proof were needed, of my endless dizziness? In que in H&M, having tried on an ivory and navy breton and about to get served when I glance down and realise I'm holding the white and navy breton which I was wearing when I entered the shop and Im actually wearing the one I wish to buy. Quickly scurried off to changing room and changed - that could have been so awkward at the till if I hadnt spotted it Blush

Was meant to be just 'popping in' to the centre to get DS1 some plastic swim shoes (he is not allowed to take his swimming diploma next week without them apparently) and refund the Zara cream boucle jacket and came home with a new breton, grey jersey blazer (also H&M), and a really lovely pale nude/peach fineknit cardi (from Mexx of all places) and an oversized linen scarf with a nude/peach and grey stripe. Very happy - will look nice with a white or cream cotton camisole/blouse, bf jeans and brown ankle boots or sandals.
Also tried some paler wash jeans on in Esprit, terrible fit on me but liked the lighter shade with the new cardi so will now try and find some others. Funny after wearing indigo jeans for so long that I now like a lighter wash.

Apart from jeans, sunglasses and a white slub/linen top (no long sleeve ones to be found today), please shoot me if I go near the shops again before my HoC day in June

Bloss meant to say yesterday I liked the navy M&S vest top, esp the button detail, but not sure about the grey/silver one.

Off to catch up.

OllieinOrange · 12/04/2012 13:31

Speaking of Espirt (did you see anything Fritzi?), they have refurbished a large one near me and Im not sure if the influence of the TV ads with stunning model but some of their things looked quite nice. They also had a gorgeous jasmine scene being wafting out into the store - would love my home to smell like that!

Decameron · 12/04/2012 13:55

OK, made DD1 hot chocolate and put on a DVD to get her off the laptop!

Blue, I like the Rosie bag the best.

Hope you all had a nice Easter.

Bummer about the iMac, Verity.

Ollie, funny!

Mim, sorry you are still in pain. Your DD is gorgeous.

I found it hard work in Dublin as DD2 was teething and waking a lot but it was nice to see everyone and I did get to go out with the lovely Rufus, a fellow Wine fan (who was carrying a very nice Miu Miu bag).

Funny about the comments re the Longchamp bags, I think they are great bags and bought my third one in Heathrow on the way home. I use it mostly as a changing bag. My very nice father ordered me a cardigan from New Zealand after I admired the one he bought his girlfriend. I'll have to be extra careful not to shrink this one, it was expensive.

Great strategy, MrsCB and lovely bag. I ordered Acne Pistols on the basis that I couldn't persuade DH to buy a house I like and the boots are quite a bit cheaper. I hope he sees it the same way when the credit card bill arrives. Hope they fit.

The Me&Em discount popped up the other day when I did my supermarket order so I have ordered this dress in cobalt. Also ordered this DP dress, never bought from DP before but it only came to £14 with discounts and gets good reviews. I also ordered this navy blazer to poshen up jeans but not sure whether it will be too work-y (might be good for your meeting, Hopefully?). Planning on buying a top in Whistles tomorrow with the Elle £15 off then will have to keep a low profile and start my red bag fund all over again!

Everything, did I miss your birthday? Belated happy birthday. I think a good belt is a wise buy.

Ants, enjoy your time off.

Emo, I think either the grey or the khaki Me & Em dress would be good colours on you.

What did you buy your sister, Slay?

Happy shopping, Bloss. I also prefer the first M&S top. Glad you had a good time. I like the way the Spanish women dress.

Got to go play with DD1, she is bored now that we are back as she is now used to being constantly entertained.

Decameron · 12/04/2012 13:56

Verity, my DD1 gets very confused as to what to call runners, she tells me to put on her sneakers/trainers/runners/whatever!

Decameron · 12/04/2012 14:01

Oh and Fritzi, I like the title!

IceCreamCastles · 12/04/2012 14:04

That's hilarious ollie Grin. I managed to accidently shoplift some shampoo the other day as I'd put it on top of the pram. Still feeling pangs of guilt.

Braved toddler group with both dcs this morning. Ds decided to vomit copiously all over himself and me for most of the time we were there. Delightful! People were backing away.

Glad everyone who has been away has had a good time. Wonder how red's getting on?

Hope you feel better soon MiM. I'm having similar clothing issues- scar not painful as such but normal jeans too tight. Suppose I'll have to bite the bullet and buy some in a bigger size. One of the mums at toddlers had some gorgeous teal ones (leighs I think). She was tiny though.

rufus101 · 12/04/2012 14:04

Job gO

MarshaBrady · 12/04/2012 14:05

Verity god am exactly the same. I can't do something unless the related outfits are good. Oh no, even as I type that I realise it's true!

rufus101 · 12/04/2012 14:11

Oops! Silly iPhone! Bloss job ok so far, commute much easier which is the main thing for me. I had worked here as junior so its funny seeing everyone looking older and wiser (clearly including myself!)
Decam I tried on the pistols in black and love, loved, loved them. The 37 is a little roomy and I think after a bit of wear they might be on the large side. I could NOT get into the 36s though. Assistant says I must have a high instep. Would love them for A/W so I'm wondering if an insole would do the trick. (clearly trying to justify the 37s aren't I? )

Decameron · 12/04/2012 14:13

ICC, funny about the shampoo

Marsha, I am the same, I think that's why I liked tennis and horse riding so much. :)

This is the blazer I've ordered.

Decameron · 12/04/2012 14:15

Rufus, I think you should get them. :) I have a high instep too, now doubtful the 39s will fit.

MarshaBrady · 12/04/2012 14:25

Yy Decam, tennis and horse riding are the best for a good look.

Oh dear I need those too now! I mean I need a decent tennis court, a decent one with lots of space in the sun, airy and green and um a horse (and the ability to ride).

MarshaBrady · 12/04/2012 14:26

Great blazer, am working haven't caught up apols to everyone.

OllieinOrange · 12/04/2012 15:02

Above post should have said jasmine scent and not scene. Flipping Dutch auto correct - my spelling does not stand a chance!

Decameron lovely to see you, say thank you to DD for giving up the lap top! Glad you had a good trip but know exactly what you mean about such visits being hard work. I used to feel the same after visiting my parents. Love the blazer - very classic and can really see you in the Me and Em dress.
Rufus glad the new job is working out.

Fritzi what was it you brought in Cos the other week? Quite liked this grey collared dress but collar was too severe on me.

Doesnt WIT have some lovely holidays?

blossoming · 12/04/2012 15:39

It is scary the amount of money I can spend given a few child free hours.
decam, can you recommend cross body bag? Not a satchel?

OllieinOrange · 12/04/2012 15:42

Wotcha get Bloss? Smile

OllieinOrange · 12/04/2012 15:46

Bags reminds me - saw some from this Dutch based collection today - great colour range. The egg shell blue one on the 7th rown down, far left was v nice.

here

pickledsiblings · 12/04/2012 15:54

Yeah Bloss, fess-up!

blue2711 · 12/04/2012 17:02

I need to know too bloss!

Thanks for sunglasses tip verity. Am tempted by the Tom Ford Jennifers in cream. Which RBs do you have? I like the classic aviators but fear I need something sturdier as am clumsy.

Good haul ollie. I too am ditzy. Finest hour recently was locking DS, my bag, keys and mobile inside the house and DD and I outside... Crisis only averted as I persuaded DS to turn the key in our French doors to the garden. He was chuffed to bits at being the hero just like his beloved Alfie (anyone else love those books?)

Decameron, I like the rosie by far the best too. Let me get this straight, are you telling me I should buy it?? Wink

Marsha, I believe for many years the bad clothes are what have put me off skiing...

DD has avoided her injection due to extreme snuffly-ness. Got her weighed though and that's been about all I've achieved today.

blue2711 · 12/04/2012 17:04

I like the look of WIT's Tunisian villa very much. We have just booked to go to Majorca at the end of May. Am half excited half terrified, but we are taking wonderful MiL so hopefully it will all go OK. Feel like starting packing now though. My DH is one of those who will expect to pick up the closed suitcases and walk out the door with no other input!
