Sorry about thread title. Hope everyone is back from holidays soon and will find us here.

amber Which JBrands did you get?

bonsoir I tried on those two tops in Cos before Easter and was tempted too. Bought a simple navy dress in Cos and shoes, which are not on the website Hmm. Will return this top. Cos is great at the moment I think.

Thanks Decameron Grin

Red my grandmother is also obsessed with my, my mother's and aunt's weight she also has no off switch with regards to what is appropriate to say out loud. It is very wearing.

Have now been sucked into a hole looking at the Me and Em site everything is amazing. Particularly like this maxi skirt.

Sad georgina, have pm'ed you

notyummy · 15/04/2012 10:40

Suburban- I have a black cheapy maxi skirt v similar to that (complete with fishtail styling, but not the spiral detail.) I have got a lot of wear out of it and wear it with black wedge boots in the winter and either wooden wedge sandals or black canvas shoes in the summer. Looks good with a fitted Breton too IMHO.

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/04/2012 11:06

Suburban - Tosho have a similar skirt.

NY - I rate the james twiggys in clean black

suburbanstyle · 15/04/2012 11:45

Thanks Mrs CB will take a look

NotYummy Love those styling ideas.
I am quite pear shaped though and a cheap DP one I tried looked awful so am happy to invest a bit more if it means thicker/more flattering jersey.

OllieinOrange · 15/04/2012 12:09

suburban just been catching up on your lovely blog and it prompted me to look at the Forever 21 website. Hadn't realise they do EU delivery and, even better, have a couple of white linen/slub tops which should be good as back ups if the WC doesnt work out.
Whats their sizing like - the size guide says a medium is 10/12 and large 14/16 - and I fall in the middle! Is it like Primark ie go large when its t shirts etc?

Also, is quality an issue esp given the price of some of the tops??? Am a F21 novice as you can tell!

Lots of chambray shirts on there for those of you looking and thought this bag was very cute for a neon fix here

pickledsiblings · 15/04/2012 12:11

Not sure who's still on the look out for a chambray shirt...too fussy with the pleats?

suburbanstyle · 15/04/2012 12:57

Hi Ollie F21 in the same league as Primark, so always size up at least one or two sizes. The quality is what you would expect from the price really. A bit hit or miss but most of the stuff I have had from there has been fine. Now I think about it, biggest issue is buttons popping off rather than things shrinking or going shapeless.

Cute bag, I saw someone with a neon Cambridge Satchel yesterday, looked really good.

FritziGreenEyes · 15/04/2012 18:50

Hello, anybody there?

pickled What do you need suits for? Office job?

AmberNectarine · 15/04/2012 19:38

Oh don't talk about neon bags, finding the siren song of the Raoul hard to resist but made a lot of fuss in front of DH about waiting til May...

mim we went out to the cinema this afternoon to see 'The cabin in the woods' (DH's choice) which was ridiculous but quite amusing in parts. Then grabbed a quick lunch but didn't dawdle as poor DS has a virus which has washed him out. My DM really is the baby whisperer though, I got home to them both fast asleep on her!

DH has been a real star lately with helping me out with the kids and around the house, so I think my rage a few weeks ago did the power of good! I let him chose my outfit today (birthday favour) and ended up in the remarkably tasteful combo of pistols, stripy Splendid mini (obvs) in faded blues, Maje leopard T shirt and black leather biker. Was bit self conscious of the short skirt but he made such a fuss of how good I looked, bless him!

suburban I am also after a maxi skirt, have seen one in the Wrap catalogue I quite like the look of.

ny sounds like you had a wonderful holiday - your DD sounds like a fabulous travelling companion!

Decameron · 15/04/2012 19:54

Could you send your mother round here, please, Amber?

DD2 is now being put on the Contented Little Baby routine, at the grand old age of 10 months. I think she is waking out of habit.

Lovely scarf, Bloss. I'm freezing today, hope my cardigan from New Zealand arrives soon.

NY, I have the Me and Em cap sleeve dress, fab on though haven't actually worn it yet, the martini dresses in navy and black from last summer (wore them loads) and I've ordered the tulip dress. I also have various tops from them which have washed well. They are knee length on me. I bought medium as I don't like dresses to be too clingy,

FritziGreenEyes · 15/04/2012 19:54

amber The pink Raoul was featured in today's Sunday Times Style Magazine. Don't wait until May if you really want it Wink

FritziGreenEyes · 15/04/2012 19:56

deca I love the Tulip but MUST.NOT.BUY.ANY.MORE.DRESSES before I've seen the style lady in June.

OP posts:
Decameron · 15/04/2012 19:56

oops but think small would fit you as I am a 12.

Decameron · 15/04/2012 19:57

Heh heh, Frizi! You know you want to.

notyummy · 15/04/2012 20:21

Thanks for the dress tips Decam and the jeans pointer MrsCB. I do like the look of the tulip dress and the ruches skirt, but am dithering over the sizing. Am usually a 10, but due to bottom issues am not a small 10. Hmm.

Suburban - I am a fellow pear, tamed slightly by running and shredding, but still not the smallest of bottoms. Quite understand the fear of poor quality clinginess - I usually wear my cheapy clingy maxi with a spanx underslip Hmm.

Russianred · 15/04/2012 20:38

Am laughing a little at the wicked grandparents stories - NY she's about the same as she's always been, but more inclined to make her comments in larger gatherings than she used to be Grin.

Pickled of course that is the stripy top I want, but it is a little ££ post-holiday, post-bathroom! MY CRB arrived whilst we were on holiday, so I'm all ready to start my tutoring; I was worried that the school may have lost interest but they phoned just before I left to check that I was still keen. Perhaps I'll get it once my first pay check arrives...

NY I love my Nudie black skinnies - about £90 and have stayed black and tight. Have recommended to a couple of friends and they have all loved them. On the Me&Em sizing front, my new (via Ollie) dress is a M and I'm an 8-10. I think it is the perfect fit, but, like Decam, I don't like dresses that are too tight.

The pink Raoul is lovely. Also, good spot on the neon yellow front Ollie, I like very much.

FritziGreenEyes · 15/04/2012 20:51

ny I have the Me&Em in a medium too. It's lovely!!!

OP posts:
OllieinOrange · 15/04/2012 21:18

But Fritzi the tulip dress has pockets........drool.

Hopefully · 15/04/2012 21:26

NY the Me and Em dress I had on at MU was a small, and it's definitely a lot more fitted on me than it is on the website model, but I like it that way. . You are definitely more small of derrière than me, but if you don't like things too fitted then maybe a medium?

Amber I daren't let DH dress me - he'd probably do it more stylishly than I manage myself Blush

DP order arrived. Quite a lot of crap (including amazing non-waisted blazers, in which I could grab approximately 5" of spare material at the waist when the blazer was done up. In a size 10), but am v v pleased with this cap sleeved dress which I want some tan or nude flats to wear with. Also Insanely pleased with the linen biker, thank you for pointing it our MrsCB! I have it in the champagne and navy, and am contemplating keeping both, depending on how the colours look in daylight tomorrow, as I can see me living in them this summer.

Decam thanks, will try calling customer services tomorrow and see what they say.

Mucho indulgence this weekend, but not as bad as it might have been, so am hoping the scales are kind to me tomorrow. Have two parcel delivery cards too - wonder which of the MANY orders/eBay purchases I have made recently they will be. Exciting!

Fleecy · 15/04/2012 22:31

Just to throw a spanner in the Me&Em works, I am usually a 10 but currently more a 12 and I was fine with the small but I like my dresses tight

Loving the tulip dress, especially in cobalt.

hopefully I find DP sizing a bit all over the place but on the whole quite generous. My size 10 ankle skinnies lasted right through pregnancy and have needed belting to stay up and I am so not a 10 at the moment.

The thread's nice and busy again! Lovely to have ny and red back and your holidays sound fabulous (with angelic DC!). I'll post properly tomorrow but just wanted to say quick hello as haven't managed to post all weekend although have had a few quick reads. Feel

blue2711 · 16/04/2012 02:30

Oh, rubbish iPhone! Feeling very happy right now - despite the hour - after a wonderful few days when the children have been great, everything's gone smoothly, all is good with DH and I've felt pretty stylish. Must remember this feeling when all is chaos again tomorrow and I'm in my pyjamas all morning!

Liked outfit today: navy skinnies, white Gap shirt, oatmeal and navy striped fine cardigan belted with whistles leopard belt (purchased Friday with Elle discount) and tan aggies. Went out Saturday night and dressed purely to please DH in bright red Zara mini dress (last season's skater style with short sleeves) and high leopard shoe boots.

Think someone from ST style reads this thread: Amber's gorgeous bag and the TS tan/orange sandals in today.

I feel quite successful in tracking down what I want lately but can't believe how hard it is to find a great white t shirt and a fine, long sleeved grey jumper.

Will comment more tomorrow on links etc but wanted to say hello to Georgina and best wishes re. your poor friends.

See you all again tomorrow.

AmberNectarine · 16/04/2012 06:58

If ST is reading I'll happily accept a styling job Wink

Morning!

Blue lovely to hear it's going well at the moment. Long may it continue!

Fingers crossed today is a bit easier than last week - DS2's separation anxiety has reached epic proportions.
