Weight versus dress size

On another forum somebody told me "there's no way" that I can weigh 10 and a half stone and still only wear a size 8 to 10. But I do.

I personally don't feel actual weight determines what size clothes you wear. Do you?

I am 5 feet 9, 11 stone 10 (bmi normal range but only just - 24 ish) and yet friends who are size 12 are much squidgier than me with a totally different shape. My % body fat at 21% is slightly lower than the ideal range the nice BUPA doctor was looking for (22-26%) and is more akin to elite female athletes (which makes sense as I am a distance runner, albeit not a particularly accomplished one!) I am strong and athletic looking rather than dainty! Dress size and weight are not good comparators

Meant to say - am size 12

I am 5"9' and just over 10 and a half stone and I wish I was a size 8-10 like the OP...

I mean, I can fit a 10 in shops like M&S and Fat Face, but I'm not deluded enough to think I'm really a 10. Size 12 fits me comfortably, I am probably more a size 11 which obviously doesn't exist. I certainly couldn't fit into a size 10 across the board, and no way a size 8.

I guess I am quite broad - I have an hour-glass shape, but my shoulders are wider than my hips. So technically a v-shaped body but I do have a waist (as opposed an actual v-shaped man's body!).
