There have been some amazing blogs mentioned on here which I'm now avidly reading.

Does anyone know of any uk style blogs where the blogger is aside 12/14?

I'd love to read a blog of how someone my own size dresses and wears trends.

OP posts:

Google Jessica Quirk; she was one of the original daily style bloggers. Her style is classic and a bit preppy but she does colour very nicely, I think.

Beware, she is very tall so her size 12 is "Amazonian" and yummy-looking whilst mine, at 5'3", is more M&Ms-esque.

Start your own - Posterous is the easiest blogging site ever.

Spookey80 · 30/03/2012 22:13

Yes I got a link to a fab blog from an unrelated chat on s and b a few days go. I can't seem to find the link anywhere. I liked it because it was a really normal lookin mum- not cocomama, but another one so would love to find it again.
When I try to google search for blogs I get lots of us sites and can't seem to find what I want.
Any ideas on searching woul be helpful, thanks.

GillyMac93 · 30/03/2012 22:49

It wasnt the school gate style one was it ? I think she looks fab !:)

Dingdong I subscribe to your blog and was plucking up courage to email you some photos, my friends have been encouraging me to after I told them about your blog. However I'm a size 20 and dress in a more rockabilly/retro fashion.

dingdong3 · 31/03/2012 14:10

Stella, please do. In a post like today's you'd be on with a couple of other girls which takes the pressure off a bit. I know my readers would love it. And I always welcome an excuse to have a day off :) schoolgatestyle at yahoo dot co dot uk

mrsebojones · 31/03/2012 14:19

@ dingdong3. Must catch up on blog reading now I have a few days off work Grin.
Such a shame people who wear a dress size 14+ don't feel confident enough to post pics. Says a lot about the society e live in. I really think style is less about size and far more about how you dress what you have iyswim!! At 5ft nothing and a size 8, I rather envy some of you ladies with your hot curves!

MyleeneCrass · 31/03/2012 21:36

I like school gate style. Finding the lady with the pink front door a bit Londoncentric and smug.

StyleGuile · 31/03/2012 22:19

Hello Myleeee Crass - I think that I may be that lady with the pink front door -although I am far from Londoncentric (not a Brummy through and through but have lived here for nearly 20 years) and I would hate to think of myself as smug - but if that is me, I apologise! I have had a lovely size 16 lady model for me - and everyone loves it when she comes out as she has great curves - will post a pic of her soon. Looking forward to reading some of the other blogs.

MyleeneCrass · 31/03/2012 22:38

Yes you might be her. I look at your outfits and just think that would never work unless you are size 10. Crew neck tops are so hard to wear above a B cup nork. But please, link to the posts with a size 16 model.

KateSpade · 31/03/2012 22:41

Has anyone mentions VIPXO?

She's a ''plus size'' style blogger, i use the quotes, because she's not actually that big, maybe 16, but recently she's been getting fat comments...

She's good though. Does Designer inspired every sunday!

dingdong3 · 01/04/2012 00:46

Aww..thanks Myleene....but have to tell you I'm a big fan of StyleGuile. You need to follow a mix of them. No one blogger will tick all the boxes.

Since I started blogging myself, I've found so many other blogs and I'd say that 80% of them I look at for inspiration only but would never actually wear what they feature. Others, like StyleGuile, Suburban Style, Fashion Spy..I'll see actual pieces that will work for me and that I'll buy. It's interesting also to get a stylist's view on something - particularly around what suits body shapes etc...I'm a bit clueless about all that.

Off to check out Vipxo as I couldn't find the other blog I referred to above...maybe it was the one I was thinking of? :)

MeTheMog · 01/04/2012 06:58

Good morning all. Have to say I follow both School Gate and Style guile (and no, I don't find you smug) but I do agree with the op. I would love to see some well dressed 12/14 women to inspire me more. Can't send you photos unless I'm feeling comfortable with my clothes choices and that is what I want some inspiration to help with. Would love to see you put together some look books/ fashion advice for this size.

drywhiteplease · 01/04/2012 08:59

Big fan of schoolgatestyle ,marking my place on this thread, .
Also Styleguile, Does my bum look 40, Wear it today, mrsebjones like yours too esp for your fab hair ....
Tbh I like lots of photos,less narrative..........mrsebjones my letter to johnnie b would have gone a bit more like this;
" johnnie, I like your lovely clothes but less of the twee smugery please...I dont care that Helga modelling yet another floral print wrap dress loves rum and raisin ice cream, puppies and the smell of freshly mown grass"

drywhiteplease · 01/04/2012 09:02

And btw methemog I send dingdong photos with the view that some of my outfits are ok and maybe some aren't but she is the expert and will choose the good ones.if loads of people sent more photos to her then there would be more chance of a variety of looks/sizes....if that makes sense.

StyleGuile · 01/04/2012 09:42

Morning! Thank you Myleene for your response and also dingdong3, MeTheMog and drywhiteplease for your words of encouragement Thanks. I do appreciate your comments Myleene - the written word is hard and I accept that whilst I may mean one thing when writing it could come over differently to the reader, so I will heed your warning! As to the clothes, I put out a plea a few days ago for curvier ladies to step forwards with their photos as I would like to do a weekly feature on different bodyshapes but no takers yet although I don't know why as I think clothes look so much better with curves in them! You wouldn't want to see me in outfits which need a larger bust to fill them - I look dreadful!

mrsebojones · 01/04/2012 09:46

Drywhite - my hair Hmm - you have made my Sunday though. I thank you. Alas, blog very neglected of late. The day job and home keeping me from it!
The post to Johnny was a little tongue in cheek Grin. TBH, find I'm buying less and less these days. DS is nearly 9 and doesn't feel boden is cool. DD thinks Next is now the epitomy of style, especially as they are currently selling Moshi Monster T-shirts. And, I tend not to want to pay full price for womenswear. In fact, DH is probably the biggest fan these days of a Boden sale shirt.
Agree with others that no one blog is enough. I still look at WIT as she posts some great basics and puts pieces together really well. Though she does, at times, wear hideous shoes!!
Happy Sunday one and all

KateSpade · 01/04/2012 10:07

Good morning!
I've checked out school gates and style guile. Im not overly keen n either. Styleguile's pictures are really small.

I love fashion blogs, and the three i really like are llymlrs ghostparties and milkteef

I especially like UK blogs, none of that american lark.

& plus ladies, once i have lost my baby weight, i am starting my own fashion blog! :) I cannot wait to be thin again!

StyleGuile · 01/04/2012 10:52

Hi Kate Spade - you are right, the blogs you recommended are great! Their photos are very good - I keep mine small a) because I don't really know how to make them larger b) my face is not as line free as theirs and I might put people off their cornflakes!

drywhiteplease · 01/04/2012 10:58

I just make styleguiles photos bigger......can't everyone do full page?

mrsebjomes lol at wit shoes...are you meaning the leopard print loafers? I have bought some pewter jewelled ballerinas like hers though (but sadly not muimui!)

talkingnonsense · 01/04/2012 11:04

Ding dong, I love magans hair in yesterday's pic.

ZenNudist · 01/04/2012 11:08

I like school gate, only just started reading blogs. Links to styleguile/ coco etc gratefully appreciated Smile

mrsebojones · 01/04/2012 11:14

drywhite you too have observed Ms Fantacci monstrosities Wink. It's funny because I love most of her wardrobe.... JUST NOT THOSE SHOES, I want to scream everytime she posts a pic ofherself wearing them :)

Interesting to hear that some say that pics are most important on a blog. I have time to post pics, just not time to write the words to accompany them :)

I may try and blog a picture of my new leopard print flat shoooz I am wearing later.
