I have been using a wonderful one by Oskia (Get up and Glow)
I got it for free from a friend who works for a magazine and love love love it! But it's running out. So imagine my surprise when I had a look to see how much it cost... Hmm

So, back to the drawing board with much sadness. I need this magic potion in my life dammit!

There has to be a cheaper alternative surely!??

Tillyscoutsmum · 26/03/2012 20:00

frazzlerock · 26/03/2012 20:42

If you like it and it's working save yourself the bother of buying cheaper ones that you dont like!

theseventhdwarf · 26/03/2012 21:48

i got a lovely one from vichy as a sample from our loacl chemist - got the night cream too (she gave me a couple of bottles and I ve been using them both the last 2 weeks - I think they re brilliant and have noticed a really dramatic difference in my skin.
I think i m going to invest once i get paid!

oldteacher · 26/03/2012 21:49

The ALDI one. Bargain too.

Northumberlandlass · 27/03/2012 08:13

Aldi, anti ageing one. Think its £3.95 or maybe £4.95 - but I haven't found another as good (or as cheap).

frazzlerock · 27/03/2012 16:24

That's great!
Only problem is, I've never even seen an Aldi. Where are they all?!

I have reviewed the Oskia one and it is good, key ingredient is Hyaluronic Acid - other point is, it doesn't contain any crap, so if you want an "equivalent" don't even bother looking at Boots/Department Stores.

As someone else said, yes, its £65 but you could spend £30 on something rubbish and not use it....

I'm sure Oskia have an offer on at the mo with £10 off........????

Otherwise, check out Naturisimo, they have loads of serums, just remember to check ingredients as Oskia is water based, and lots of serums are oil based. Or search for a hylauronic acid based serum, there should be a few out there.

Did you put make up on over yours? I had bad pilling when I tried.....

YouChangeWithTheWeather · 27/03/2012 16:39

The Boots red one that's the same as the Protect and Survive one but cheaper.

It's more than the Aldi one but I can't tell the difference.

frazzlerock · 27/03/2012 18:11

That's what I'm thinking MissFoodie.
I suppose you get what you pay for.... but £65!!

Yes I can put make-up over Get up and Glow. Although, I usually let it sink in first then I apply Olay moisturiser (the one with a hint of tan) over the top before applying make-up.
I have put the serum on before a night out (for a boost) and have been able to put make-up on with no trouble.

I'll check out Naturisimo and see if I can get the Oskia any cheaper.

Thanks for the heads up!

I use Protect & Perfect (if they have a £5 off deal), or Olay Regenerist (DH works for them, so can get it cheap). Both are fab.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 27/03/2012 18:20

I love this SBC one.

I buy it off of e-bay for half the price though.

Mamasunshine · 27/03/2012 18:23

Aldi do a reflective one I think, it's brilliant I've had comments on how great my skin looks when I wear it!

BIWI · 27/03/2012 18:26

Boots Protect and Perfect serum is the only one which has any clinical evidence to prove that it works

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/03/2012 18:26

Can someone tell me what face serum does and why it is necessary? I've moisturised since I was 14 and had a lovely complexion up until about 33/4. I still have a good glow but am starting to look a bit baggy around the eyes and stringy around the neck :( (37 next week)

I want to look 22 again, but failing that.......?

(sorry for thread hijack)

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/03/2012 22:14

I am a thread-killer :(

Tillyscoutsmum · 27/03/2012 22:18

You're not a thread killer. I just think no one wants to admit to spending potentially 60 quid on something which they can't actually tell you what it does Wink

I think its supposed to sink deeper into the skin than moisturiser and them forms a base for moisturiser.... or something like that. For me, it just evens my skin out a bit and gives me a bit more of a "glow"

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/03/2012 22:25

Sixty quid? Sixty quid? Sixty quid?

Good lord!

Tillyscoutsmum · 27/03/2012 22:27

Only the one in the OP. The one I use (the Soap & Glory one) is about £12 but is usually on a 3 for 2 at Boots.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/03/2012 22:29

But will it make me look 22 again? Grin

VivaLeBeaver · 27/03/2012 22:31

I read that moisturiser is to improve the skin you have now/today. Serum is to Improve the skin you have in the coming weeks.

No idea if that's true.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/03/2012 22:35

I'm getting some. Do they still do that Boots stuff that really worked? And doesn anyone have an opinion on the Body Shop stuff?

frazzlerock · 27/03/2012 22:46

I'm still toying with the idea of spending £65 on the Oskia....
Maaaan it's good!
