I have been using a wonderful one by Oskia (Get up and Glow)
I got it for free from a friend who works for a magazine and love love love it! But it's running out. So imagine my surprise when I had a look to see how much it cost... Hmm

So, back to the drawing board with much sadness. I need this magic potion in my life dammit!

There has to be a cheaper alternative surely!??

FWIW I have absolutely no idea what it does.
It just does
That's enough for me

Hyaluronic acid firming serum by now solutions that I've found in that posh pharmacy at the back of Oxford street. Keep forgetting the name Blush

Bell & Croyden
;)

Thank you, MissFoodie. That's the one. I like a good rummage there now and again.

I have the boots one but am never sure what to do with it. Put it on before moisturiser, or after? Frankly I don't see it making a difference, but my skin seems to soak it up pretty quickly, so I would need half the bottle at a time Hmm.

I apply a liberal dusting of stable dirt, alllow to sink in through the course of the day, then splash some water around the general area now and again. My face looks fine. The added bonus?...totally free! Grin

Serum first - sinks in very quickly - then moisturiser

whitelillies · 28/03/2012 08:12

Go to Vichy counter get sample of their youth active serum as I said before it s brilliant I m a convert - my skins brilliant since starting to use it and the night cream

keepmoving · 28/03/2012 08:30

Ariel, serums usually deliver higher concentrations of active ingredients and tend not to be creamy. Depending on skin type, you usually follow up with a moisturiser. Those with oily skin often don't need another product for example. I have quite dry skin but find if I put my serum all over I only need to apply moisturiser on my cheeks.

Hylauronic acid keeps the skin feeling hydrated and will usually combat fine lines which are caused by dehyration so your skin looks fresher. There are different grades and concentrations of active ingredients in products and it is usually the case of getting what you pay for.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 28/03/2012 08:43

Thank you keepmoving, that's what I was after.

Try the Body Shop one - vitamin C serum.

Lovely frangrance and feel. And only £13.50

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 28/03/2012 09:06

How long do they last? Do you only use very small amounts?

You're looking at someone here who won't pay more than £5 for a moisturiser or £6 for a mascara.

keepmoving · 28/03/2012 09:13

A 30ml bottle will last 2-3 months if used day and night. I use a vitamin C that comes in a pump and find two pumps enough for my face and neck.

keepmoving · 28/03/2012 09:16

Meant also to say, some cheaper serums may contain more water so you may find you use more each application.
