I have never seen such a pile of hideousness!

Some sort of red patterned leggings next to bright lime skirt made out of old sofa. A wooly tunic that would make anybody look 9 months pregnant. Horrible shoes. Garish and unpleasant swimming costumes. Black blazer type thing with really shiny buttons. It was all horrible.

I did get a new pair of pjs and a casual top but mostly I walked round going ugh. Didn't even venture near the nightmare that is Per Una.

Your post made me laugh!

My local M&S looks like a bomb site due to renovations. Was too busy trying to negotiate pram around the bare concrete to see the clothes Smile

Got baby some nice mittens tho Grin

OddBoots · 24/03/2012 19:13

I think t is just this season, I went in Next the other day and couldn't find anything I'd want to treat myself to.

Northernlurker · 24/03/2012 19:18

these are much worse in RL

this hurts my eyes

Why would anybody buy this horror?

mumblechum1 · 24/03/2012 19:20

It's the 80s all over again

Flightty · 24/03/2012 19:33

M&S should stick to food. They are really good at food!

Their clothes have always been really awful. I remember vividly a royal blue jersey skirt and sweater set I had when I was 8. It had rows of mustard yellow braid along it, with giant brass eyelets in.

I can't remember what I was thinking at the time. I think I'd been given a voucher.

I do remember it being comfortable but that's about it. Never had anything I liked from that shop.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 24/03/2012 19:36

Ergh. Those leggings make me feel queasy.

Hello Northern! How are you? Grin

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 24/03/2012 19:50

I turned to look at this vile dress in M&S today and walked into a pillar.

DH was crying with laughter - he did admit he was worried that I was considering buying it - I was able to reasure him that my head had spun towards the dress in an exorcist horror way - not an 'I want that' way

Northernlurker · 24/03/2012 20:19

Those zig zags should be illegal. I agree there's an 80s vibe .

I can't think why this is in the sale

This is good if you want to look like an extra from Starwars

Twp brass buttons twice as much fun

We're all fine thanks What - how is Orbit and the family? Smile

JarethTheGoblinKing · 24/03/2012 20:21

It's clothes for people who were teenagers/young adults in the 80's

Wink
WhatFreshHellIsThis · 24/03/2012 23:20

We're good - Orbit turns three next week if you can believe that! Time doesn't half fly.

Glad all is well. Think your life would almost certainly be improved by having this in it though. Grin

hattifattner · 24/03/2012 23:28

I see your garish leggings, chunky cardies and all, but I rather think this wins.

LineRunner · 24/03/2012 23:31

It's the 70s. The middle class suburban 70s.

cocobongo · 24/03/2012 23:44

i agree with everything that everyone has said, apart from this:

htty Sat 24-Mar-12 19:33:14

M&S should stick to food. They are really good at food!

no, sorry- selling cr@ppy ready meals with an "i'm worth it"-style voiceover does not make good food.

CocoaCloset · 24/03/2012 23:55

I agree generally but usually find one or two things amongst the horrors. For example a few weeks ago I got some nice heels for £20 that aren't dissimilar to some KG ones I have had for a lot more.

SilentSinger · 24/03/2012 23:56

I saw this today. I was horrified.

JeelyPiece · 24/03/2012 23:59

I nearly started a thread about this yesterday after touring the Limited section of M&S with a face like ShockConfused

It was reminiscent of Wham on holiday in Barbados in 1986.

applecrumbleandcream · 25/03/2012 00:02

SilentSinger that skirt is truly truly hideous. I only go in there now for clothes for dd, they have lovely things for her!!

EnjoyResponsibly · 25/03/2012 00:02

aJumped Jesus you should have given a dragon butter warning to that link. It looks like the models stomach exploded!

YouBrokeMySmoulder · 25/03/2012 00:03

I was in there yesterday and actually liked lots of the Limited section brights - good for a summer of festivals. [hides]

Northernlurker · 25/03/2012 00:05

That's like the bit of a sofa skirt I saw today. They seemed to think you should 'team' it with the red leggings. Hmm

Hatti - I saw that cardigan on the sale rail today. I fled gibbering.

OP posts:
YouBrokeMySmoulder · 25/03/2012 00:07

I quite like this but maybe I just need help.

Northernlurker · 25/03/2012 00:12

What - no way is he 3!!! Mind you my baby B is nearly 5 so I guess he must be......Grin Sorry it was What who linked teh aztec lovely.

Hatti - that's truly awful. Thank the Lord I didn't see that in the flesh today. One of us would not have emerged intact.....

LucyManga · 25/03/2012 11:34

I browsed the shoe section in MS yesterday as occasionally there will be a gem in their 'Contemporary Footgloves' range.

My God, it was bad, tough Shock.

Horrid, round-toed patent shoes garish colours, as shiny as a new coin and with massive wedge heels. No idea who they are aimed at. they were like granny shoes with stripper heels.

Orthopaedic-looking clod-hopper sandals in aluminium foil-shiny silver.

Funny penny loafer thingies in colours like snot-green and sick-yellow. I was in hysterics at those and people were staring at the crazy laughing lady....

Danceswithdragons · 25/03/2012 15:13

Is there anything worth buying? Cosmetics maybe? Only I have some M&S vouchers to spend and don't really want to buy food with them.
