Spray Tan Etiquette - please help

Apologies if this has been answered before. Looked on MN guide and don't have the necessary answer.

Put bluntly are you supposed to just wear pants/knickers?
(Whispers) Would it be too made to wear a strapless bra?
What is the procedure and etiquette?

I like to wear an old bikini, though. I like the strap marks and I kid myself it makes my tan look more natural. I've only had one spray lady comment it was unusual to do so.

Also, I plan to avoid paper pants my whole life, if possible. It's a personal mission I have.

A bra is not weird. Just say you want strap marks. I always wonder about women with massive norks who don't wear a bra - do they lift them up to get a tan underneath or not?

Don't worry about going sans bra. Remember, they have seen everything before! Every single shape and size. I once asked my therapist if she 'see's' the naked bodies in front of her any more.

She said boobs, bums and bits to her were like elbows to me - non consequential! Remember, your therapist will have seen many legs akimbo, revealing many naked fanjos whilst doing brazillians.

Yes, I have been asked to lift them up and move them around and I was so embarassed that I didn't go again! (it was also cold IYKWIM)

I think if you'd have to lift them up - wear a bra.

LesA - a decent therapist will ask you to 'raise your arms' to do underneath!

Oooooh thankyou OP for getting answers to one of my Q re spray tan ... I have two more to add if I may.... Firstly do I moisturise before ? And ... This is the biggie can I believe it when the therapist said I won't look orange ! I want a " I've sat in the sun few days" look

De-fuzz & moisturise the previous evening if having it in the morning, in the morning if having it late afternoon or evening. DO NOT use deodorant or it will go green under your arms!

Degrees of orange depend on brand used...

Everyone i have ever tanned has been a little bit embarrassed the first time.

Wear whatever you fancy. I'm shy so I wear a swimming costume with the straps tucked down. Most people wear old knickers, an old bikini bottom and maybe a strapless bra. Also nude is fine. I dont inflict paper knickers on my clients lol. The ideal thing to wear is the brief bikini that you bought and then got home and thought "bloody hell I cant inflict that on the general public".

De-hair at least the day before.

Leading up to the tan exfoliate and moisturise quite enthusiastically. On the day DO NOT MOISTURISE and shower with non moisturising soap or shower gel. Ideally dont wear foundation etc.

If you wear perfume or deodorant the guide colour (the bit that you wash off) will go green. BUT you do wash this off adter a few hours so not the end of the world.

Boobs are tricky. The only way to get some tan underneath large boobs is to lift them up, but hoiking them around is, as you say, a bit mortifying. Wearing a bra is a solution.

Wear loose clothes and flip flops to the appointment.

Phew. Sorry. Am going on a bit. A good beautician will tellnyou all this and more. I email an information sheet to my clients beforehand and text them on the day as a reminder and the next day to check they are happy. Most get right on their nerves lol

Ps. Tell the beautician clearly how you want to look and how your skin behaves in the sun. 8% and 10% strength tans are a week in Palma rather than two weeks in Cancun.

well i like to think they dont mind till a mate said HER mate who did them said she saw ALL sorts including " women with knockers down to their knees"

so i am not so sure
