*sounds klaxon* 30% GA peel shizzle that you can do at home

thought i ought to do a public service and announce it properly as hardly anyone seems to know you can buy this stuff to use at home - and it works out sooo much cheaper than having it done at a salon even tho it's the exact same stuff.

i've only used it once so far (for 3 mins) but have been properly amazed by the results - as i posted on another thread, my 11s have reduced by 50% [holy grail] and my skin generally looks brighter and more even.

you do it weekly, building up the time over 6 weeks and then have a break.

the magic goo is here: www.bravuralondon.com/glycolic-acid-30.html

don't forget to get the neutraliser (apparently just bicarb but maybe has crushed fairies' castles in it too Hmm so your choice) and use sun block in the day.

anyone a veteran of the stuff and care to share your results?

p.s. i don't work for bravura and i'm a MN regular recently name-changed to separate my S&B chat with my over-sharing on other threads.

Tuesday night and Sat afternoon is peel time here too.

Today I went to work wearing only a smear of lipstick. No need for any foundation/concealer/powder here.

Feeling good (nanananananana)

KeepOrfThemCarbs · 17/04/2012 16:37

I got the lift at work (just the one floor) so I could gaze at my face at the very flattering mirror in the lift.

I posed to my heart's content.

WHAT A WANKER ETC

MissFoodie · 17/04/2012 16:38

catinboots · 17/04/2012 16:40

Wasn't the witch of the east the pretty one??

MissFoodie · 17/04/2012 16:43

not sure, I mean the one in striped socks that melted Grin

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/04/2012 16:47

Glinda the Good (witch of the North) was the pretty one

The one from the east got squashed by Dorothys house

The one from the west was the melty one who still haunts my dreams

jen127 · 17/04/2012 16:50

Has anyone gone to the 50% GA yet, my camel skin has not peeled with a 7 minute 30% GA- it looks much brighter and the pores are smaller but I want the burn baby!! Or Do I ( now nervous ...)

QuinnFabray · 17/04/2012 16:53

I just find them too drying. I've done a course of GA and a couple of SA peels, and whilst they do help to a degree with the blackheads and oiliness, I feel like they've dried my skin out ( even though it still gets oily, and I still have blackheads ) and it seems to have accentuated my wrinkles, especially my cat's bum mouth, and I look crepier and older. I guess the layer of sebum on my face, which the peels have stripped away, was making my skin look plumped up and younger. I hated my manky oily blackheady skin, but it seems I hate this drier crepier older looking skin more.

WeesaD · 17/04/2012 17:44

Ooh MissFoodie - fab read! Thank you!

WeesaD · 17/04/2012 17:45

Ooh MissFoodie, fab read! Thank you!

The after pictures of the deep peels are amazing, but I'm not sure I could take the process....

blobtobetter · 17/04/2012 17:50

If I have been using 10% SA do I now order 20% SA or 30% GA?

The SA hasn't done much at all for me - I always thought my skin was sensitive but even after 5/6 minutes I just had a tiny bit on tingling and pretty much no change in my skin.

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 17/04/2012 18:24

I am another sheep - have ordered the bravura.

ggirltwin2pinot · 17/04/2012 19:36

missfoodie have had to register with docsummat to read that link but still can't see it

cocolepew · 17/04/2012 20:16

I did it.

I look the same. I left it on for 2 mins after washing my face (I like to ignore instructions) It didn't burn apart from when it went in a spot I picked Blush

No redness, feels very dry because I didn't put any moisturiser on.

ggirltwin2pinot · 17/04/2012 20:19

right have read the link

interesting it says that retin a creams can be used whilst having peel treatments

also says no need for the neutraliser as water has the same effect

i only read the glycolic acid bit ,took ages to download btw

HandMini · 17/04/2012 21:03

Wow. Coming late to the peel party, but wow! I'm converted. Done one peel with the 30% stuff and left it on for only 2 mins. But skin much tighter and brighter and fab effect in my brow lines/wrinkles. I really hope I don't wake up in the morning and find it all gone back to the way it was. Skin feels pretty dry and tight...any experts around to tell me should I slap on some moisturiser/oil or just leave it. Not itchy or painful.

WeesaD · 17/04/2012 21:47

GA 30%
Ok, I don't like being left out so decdied Tuesday night is sizzle night for me too!
Just done #3 for 6 minutes. OMG it itched! A loooong 6 minutes!

Question is, the leaflet that came with it says work up to a max of seven minutes - then what? I'll be there next peel - then 50%?

maddiemostmerry · 17/04/2012 21:48

Feeling quite Envy of some of you with such lovely skin.

Shall I risk GA, I have rosecea, some small red veins on cheeks and allergic rashes[allergic to grass, cats, dogs, dust mite etc]. No blackheads or spots as such.

Please talk me in[or out] of it. Finger hovering over buy buttonConfused

hiviolet · 17/04/2012 21:52

WeesaD iirc, the leaflet says you can take a six week break and then start sizzling again, no need to move up to 50% if you don't want to.

I'm post sizzle now. Cheeks feel lovely. Face cheeks that is, although I'm sure my arse could do with some sizzling. Can GA melt cellulite?

MissFoodie · 17/04/2012 23:10

sorry girls, you didnt need to log in to that website, if you scrolled down you could read it anyway-
salycilic doesn't need neutralising, it's glycolic and the others that need the bicarb

cocolepew · 18/04/2012 08:07

I didn't get my neutraliser in the pack, so I just used cold water with the GA. I still have skin left this morning so it seems to be ok to do.
