*sounds klaxon* 30% GA peel shizzle that you can do at home

thought i ought to do a public service and announce it properly as hardly anyone seems to know you can buy this stuff to use at home - and it works out sooo much cheaper than having it done at a salon even tho it's the exact same stuff.

i've only used it once so far (for 3 mins) but have been properly amazed by the results - as i posted on another thread, my 11s have reduced by 50% [holy grail] and my skin generally looks brighter and more even.

you do it weekly, building up the time over 6 weeks and then have a break.

the magic goo is here: www.bravuralondon.com/glycolic-acid-30.html

don't forget to get the neutraliser (apparently just bicarb but maybe has crushed fairies' castles in it too Hmm so your choice) and use sun block in the day.

anyone a veteran of the stuff and care to share your results?

p.s. i don't work for bravura and i'm a MN regular recently name-changed to separate my S&B chat with my over-sharing on other threads.

yes but bear in mind that most creams and things are only about 1 to 3%, so maybe yes, to be on the safe side.... :)

brighthair · 17/04/2012 11:28

Maybe I should have bought the lower one, I got over excited Blush
I will just have to do a v v short time!!

DoUntoOtters · 17/04/2012 11:31

Damn you all. I have just ordered this, and the night cream. Grin

How long will it take to get here?

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 17/04/2012 11:33

lol - love the idea that your nose would look younger than the rest of you Grin and have got these number 11s withut ever knowing what they were...
i am also a s&b sheep, having succumbed in revent weeks to primer and BB cream, so will give it this one a go....
Do they sell it in Boots? am going by there on way home...

happy2bhomely · 17/04/2012 11:41

I've just ordered some 30% GA. I will report back Smile

KeepOrfThemCarbs · 17/04/2012 11:42

Does anyone else find that they look a little bit waxworky?

MissFoodie · 17/04/2012 11:43

mrsguy Boots? er, no...this stuff is probably illegal
keeporf no, are we going to be seeing you in tussauds soon then?

KeepOrfThemCarbs · 17/04/2012 11:48

lol at illegal.

Well waxworky when I put cream on. I don't waltz around looking like an exhibit, I promise.

I don't care. Rather waxworky than dried up old riverbed.

MissFoodie · 17/04/2012 11:49

OOOOOOOOH LADIES, check this out!!!
it's like the "Encyclopaedia of Peels":
www.docstoc.com/docs/74151738/Color-Atlas-of-Chemical-Peels

KeepOrfThemCarbs · 17/04/2012 11:54

That's great missfoodie - lots of great info there re GA peels.

Lol at encylopaedia

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 17/04/2012 12:02

loving this thread - keep off great name!

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 17/04/2012 12:13

Ok - this seems to be on sale in boots Grin

Sanctuary 30 Day Youth Revolution Glycolic Peel-Off Mask and Serum System

any views?

MissFoodie · 17/04/2012 12:17

this will have a very low % of GA, if you've never used it then it's a starting point

KeepOrfThemCarbs · 17/04/2012 12:17

Thanks MrsGuy Grin

Nah, I think you should go for the stuff linked at the top of the page.

I think it is stronger than the stuff you can buy over the counter - this is the stuff they use in salons. They charge £80 for a glycolic peel in SK:N clinics for instance.

brighthair · 17/04/2012 12:27

I have used the sanctuary one. It's a peel off and it was a pita to get off. I liked the serum though

FourYolksAche · 17/04/2012 12:27

Right I can't resist any more

Ordering GA30%, in the deep end I go Smile

cocolepew · 17/04/2012 12:28

There is a moisturiser on the website for Roscea Brighthair.

supernannyisace · 17/04/2012 12:30

I still haven't used mine yet...

However I have been using a cream from Derm for acne - Differin, which is a retinoid. I think TBH that is having the same effect?? Pores looking good - had a bit of flaking/peeling first few days (but I was also out in the sun then).

Am keen to try to GA though - it is sat there looking at me... I did a patch test on myhand - and spilt the damn neutraliser stuff all over...

Hmmm... will keep reading all your results first Grin

cocolepew · 17/04/2012 12:42

My GA has arrived!

Tomorrow I shall be a peeling, red faced loon.

I can't wait!

KeepOrfThemCarbs · 17/04/2012 12:44

The pot the neutraliser comes in is crap.

I yanked the lid off the other day and it went everywhere.

MissFoodie · 17/04/2012 12:46

the neutraliser is bicarb! just use what you've got in cupboard!

Pinkglow · 17/04/2012 12:55

Ok so I overalled my skin care a week and a half ago. I have been using the Liz Earle cleanse and polish, Mandelic Salicylic mask from Forever Young and this for my spots www.etatpur.co.uk/index.php/pure-actives-spots-skin-blemishes-salicylic-acid-300.html

After the first few days of doing this I came out in horrible horrible spots, I mean big ones but now they are clearing up really well. I did my second peel yesterday and my skin is looking much brighter and this morning I only had to dab abit of concealer under my eyes and chin. My skin is not completely clear but my foundation (which is a light one) is now enough to cover the imperfections.

No idea which part is doing this but I am much more confidant about my skin. Think I will go onto the GA mask once Ive done the six weeks of the Mandelic Salicylic

MissFoodie · 17/04/2012 13:04

pinkglow the etat pur SA is only about 2%, so if you do decide to get a peel, start with a low %

hiviolet · 17/04/2012 16:02

Tuesday night is peel night for me, hooray! Will be %233 for me, and I'm going to push the boundaries and try five minutes instead of four.

Sounds like maybe SA would've been better than GA though, as I'm trying to sizzle away acne scarring, not wrinkles.

hiviolet · 17/04/2012 16:02

I typed %23 3, don't know why it went all Autocorrect on me Grin
