new thread!

Oh well - maybe when you have a large country estate. I prefer the Caldo to the other, but not much in it - I just find that crossed-over material can be a bit uncomfortable when sun bathing in a bikini.

FritziGreenEyes · 26/03/2012 14:03

Good point red. The Caldo also has a little pull out table for putting on a chilled glass of white wine Wink

Russianred · 26/03/2012 14:08

And you need to ask which one to go for?! Grin

Decameron · 26/03/2012 14:31

Lovely jeans, Bloss.

Like the chinos on you, SuburbanStyle.

How was the barbeque, Red?

Don't you want to go back to dentistry, Reine? I can't see the cake photo unfortunately.

Yes, I do have a few gems in the attic! I need to put money aside for the summer sales now. I see some nice stuff I like in DKNY and I need I want I have to get a red bag.

Russianred · 26/03/2012 14:38

It was alright Decam - a group that we've socialised with since being young and childless, so the dynamic is a bit different now, but enjoyable nonetheless. Is there a red bag shortlist?

Any of the Anya Hindmarch red leather bags will do nicely, Red! Whatever goes on sale, really.

Decameron · 26/03/2012 14:57

I keep meaning to ask how your sister is?

Hello.

typing one handed! feeling much better about bf, am pumping still but taking it a day at a time - no pressure. i know it won't last, mw coming back tomorrow with the option i can try latching again. they are being great, and letting me take the lead.

red - i have thought wit was up-duffed too for a while...we shall see. how is your sister getting on.

i am dressed today!!! hideous, hideous outfit, no make up and flat hair, but i am wearing clothes...hurrah!

re chino's - i like wit's skinny ones. i know what you mean suburban, i'm not keen on my chino's now either, too tapered from the hip i think. i suspect i need proper skinny ones too.

rufus101 · 26/03/2012 19:12

What a fright MIM. When thing are so scarey in retrospect, at the moment they are occurring......shudder.
I love the name Olivia, so graceful.
Made your red lentil soup today Bloss, even if I say so myself it was very yummy. My child minder asked me if I had lost weight today. Clearly she knows the way to please me. Haven't, but maybe I look as if I do!
Enjoying all the DH stories. We moved in after two months (but effectively had been living together since the first weekend Blush) and D H proposed after 6 months. Got married 18 months later, as I had exams to get over and done with. I'm the same as you though Bloss, constantly wishing my life away and not living in the moment and enjoying it right now. DH is always giving out to me about it. Won't change now though. It's too deeply ingrained.

ReineDeSaba · 26/03/2012 19:25

ooh exciting that good list building for Summer Waft..thanks annie

decameron will add you now..I have always dreamed of having multiple careers,am just not planning to go back to dentistry at the moment, will wait for both girls to be in school.

pickled great guess,my old boss thought I should do it professionally but I don't have a huge passion for it..I'm guessing your friend was a technician?

will definitely ask for everyone's advice and feedback when I have consolidated it all in my own mind!

Zembo · 26/03/2012 19:46

All sounds very exciting Reine I've been thinking about what else I could do recently too, I'd love a portfolio career.

Well done on the BF to date MIM - I might have bored you all with the details before, but I expressed exclusively for both my DC for around 6 months. I then introduced a bit of formula but carried on with the expressing until they were both a year old. I resorted to hand expressing, so felt like a propper cow Smile

rufus101 · 26/03/2012 19:48

Impressive Zembo! Remember having to do that once. Don't know how you did it for 6 months.
Can someone link to Suburban's blog? I haven't bookmarked, and can't find the link. Thanks!

FritziGreenEyes · 26/03/2012 19:53

reine Cannot wait to hear about your plans Smile. Exciting!

verity How did your almost net-free weekend go? When is your appointment with DS's teachers?

Does anyone have a good quiche recipe? DD wants to decorate more eggs for our Easter tree.

annie Lots of hula-hooping going on in our backyard too at the moment. DD is cheering me on but I am hopeless.

Russianred · 26/03/2012 20:20

I cannot hoop for toffee, it makes me go (more) cross-eyed.

Decam thank you for asking - she's fine, just resting up at home and taking powerful medication. Think she's planning on going back to work at the end of the week. Sounds like a hideous experience. Yes to red AH, how lovely.

MiM glad you are feeling well supported in your bf-ing. FWIW (and still no pressure) it did get a lot better quite quickly, but did take about 4 weeks from having abscesses to bf-ing feeling second nature and pain-free.We're all rooting for you, whatever decision you make!

There are some lovely quiche recipes in the Great British Bake Off Book, this spring vegetable one might be nice for now.

Russianred · 26/03/2012 20:21

Oh dear, that was a terrible, unintentional bf'ing pun. Excuse me.

pickledsiblings · 26/03/2012 20:23

Reine, friend was indeed a technician - is the stuff she uses. What fab transferable skills! I'm seeing her tomorrow if you want me to ask her anything Smile.

Can I be in the Wafting loop please Annie just in case I get the opportunity at the last minute?

Might go and do some hula hooping on the wii, you are putting me in the mood. How much on MFP for 10 mins HHing Bloss?

Ollie, your boots are such a good colour, they're from some Dutch shop aren't they? Could you be bothered to link again?

pickledsiblings · 26/03/2012 20:24

arf arf Red

Hopefully · 26/03/2012 20:25

Wow, Zembo that's a lot of pumping. I get mastitis every single time I pump, for some reason (I guess something to do with stimulating milk production without removing it efficiently enough). I had mastitis four times with each DS (some due to pumping, some not), really badly about three of those times. I really don't like BFing

MIM hurrah for getting dressed! You are doing so well, and brilliantly for persevering with BFing.

Annie my sister loves hula hooping, she's been doing it for a few months. I think it fits in nicely with her love of vintage. Even her exercise is retro!

Bloss I am rejecting any return of skinny flares as they really (imo) need to be worn with heels, and I just cannot cope with heels for everyday.

No news from people re DH's job. We can expect to hear from them any day this week as the relevant man is now back from holiday, so are even more on tenterhooks. Argh the waiting is going to drive me insane.

I wore shorts today (purchased on the uber-cheap yesterday). It definitely wasn't my finest look, what with the pasty legs and less-than-perfectly-toned thighs, but I needed to get the sun to my legs, and a day out at the farm to see lambing with the DSs seemed like a good opportunity to not care too much about looking bad. Paired them with one of my even cheaper vests and big brown scarf for when the breeze reminded me that it's not actually summer yet. DS1 was so sweet with the animals, he held the baby chicks incredibly carefully and sat for ages with a lamb on his lap. But mostly he loved the tractor rides Hmm Grin

pickledsiblings · 26/03/2012 20:26

I miss having a little snuffly rooting baby.

Hopefully · 26/03/2012 20:27

God, I don't Pickled! If I could just produce toddlers I would have about four more children, but the baby stage kills me.

blossoming · 26/03/2012 20:59

Belly dancing gets you 45 pickled! You could get a ginger nut for that (but leave a few crumbs as they're 47cals Wink)

fritzi, this is my go-to quiche recipe. I make it every single time we have guests and serve it as part of a buffet type meal with boiled ham, room temperature ratatouille, cous cous with lemon and herbs and salads. It always gets demolished.

rufus, have you started your new job yet?

rufus101 · 26/03/2012 21:07

Next week Bloss (bites nails nervously). Dreading it. Hate change me.
Going away overnight with my Dsis on Thursday. [http://www.monart.ie/ here] Now that will be nice, but I could do with more time off. I have decided to fly into BTs tomorrow and see if they have j brand majors, but otherwise my time is completely used up morning and afternoon this week.
Bookmarking that quiche recipe. Having people over on Sunday. I love boiled ham. Delcious.
