That link won't work, but if you click on the 'world of bonpoint' then click on YAM you'll see it.

Portia I just put on my wrist warmers Blush

Ollie I will be looking for your party expertise next week, dd wants her whole class, so 27 7-8 year olds in the garden. I will be praying for sun. Or at least lack of rain!

MrsCampbellBlack · 23/03/2012 11:30

Verity - DD's blind in her room is in that fabric with F&B middleton pink on the walls - its really lovely.

Feels good to actually offer the right fashion advice Grin

Still in the park and very warm. Need to update with summer stuff pronto.

FritziGreenEyes · 23/03/2012 12:33

Lovely outside but the sun is so strong already: Don't forget to put on sunscream!

FritziGreenEyes · 23/03/2012 12:34

Errr, or maybe even sunscreen Grin

MarshaBrady · 23/03/2012 12:56

Grin Fritzi.

Home for lunch going to put some on, good post timing!

Russianred · 23/03/2012 13:04

Afternoon all. My new GAP shirt has arrived already (v impressed as ordered it yesterday afternoon) and I am completely in love with it - perfect fit, lovely soft washed cotton and gorgeous popper detail. Would heartily recommend that others follow suit.Suburban, as others have said, budgets here span a very wide range, you should stick around.

MrsCB that entire outfit would look excellent on you. Gorgeous.

MiM am sure you've checked latch and so on, but do persist in doing so - was convinced DD's latch was fine and it really wasn't. My MW shrugged off any concerns with 'you've done it before, am sure it's fine', so make sure you ask someone to watch you if you feel you need it.

I love charity shop hunting - there's one near here where I came up trumps with a couple of lovely COS tops recently. My neighbour told me about some that are further afield that have excellent stock, so may need to make a trip soon. DS always spends his spoils in charity shops too Annie.

Love that Whistles top Bloss - have you seen the dress version in that print? I could see you looking gorgeous in it, but not sure that you'd go for the scalloping.

Decam if I had your legs, I'd never be out of jeans, so of course you must buy another pair. Shame about the Me&Em dress.

pickledsiblings · 23/03/2012 13:16

Marsha, I tried on a wide brimmed straw hat for you in Accessorize, 'twas v. nice and only £17.

Annie and Red, well done for 'flushing out' suburbanstyle - do stick around suburban, great blog!

Yes Annie, I thought the dress looked a bit short on the model, glad you love it.

I seriously can't shop anymore without thinking of you guys - TS have a very nice selection of flat sandals Red Grin.

MiM, I bf all three of mine until they were 2.5 and it was still painful in the early days when they just wanted to drink constantly. You have my sympathies. I hope you get the chance to enjoy some sunshine this w/e Smile.

Big wave to the rest of you - have great Fridays.

blossoming · 23/03/2012 13:31

I just can't bring myself to purchase the linen tunic. I keep seeing the woman's mortified face when she asked me if I was pregnant when I was wearing last year's version.
And also, must avoid linen [stern]. Crumpled is not a good look for us dramatic/classics.

Hopefully · 23/03/2012 13:48

Bloss sorry to smile at your tunic plight, but it's cheered me up no end Smile

I am so grumpy this week. Have had PMT for 2 weeks, AF is almost two weeks late (literally never happened before, I have had a 28 day cycle since forever). Did a test before MU and am not pregnant, but it is driving me bonkers! Also haven't lost an ounce all week despite (mostly) adhering to Jillian and her metabolism mastering ways. Grrrrrr

VerityBrulee · 23/03/2012 13:48

That paint goes beautifully with at LA pattern, thanks MrsCB

Great the dress is a keeper Annie

I just lost myself in the Matches site! Got an email about metaics and spied this which is perfect for someone like me who's always cold. It would be a doddle to run up too. Off to peruse Hopefully's fabric shop recommendations!

I'm hoping that some of you lovely teachers might be able to help me out. Ds2 has dyslexia, and is very bright (we have seen his IQ!) but needs help in structuring and presenting his work. He always worked in a small group for English and history, but this year because he did 'too well' in his literacy and numeracy tests (and because of cutbacks) he is in with the mainstream class and really struggling. His teacher, who means well but is not very experienced has been 'encouraging' ds to do better, but ds, who is very sensitive to criticism feels that the teacher is always angry with him and that ds is never good enough Sad I think it is really a break down in communication between the two of them and a lack of support in the classroom that is the problem, but ds was in tears this morning going to school and that is hard to deal with. I have a meeting with the teacher and head next week, and I want to have lots of constructive ideas rather than just complain about lack of resources!

Have four friends of dd's here this afternoon, so trying to mentally prepare for the noise!

ReineDeSaba · 23/03/2012 13:55

ReineDeSaba · 23/03/2012 13:56

hugs verity

VerityBrulee · 23/03/2012 14:03

Thanks Reine Happy Birthday to dd Smile

I can't believe Red swears Shock

Russianred · 23/03/2012 14:11

Oh Reine please let us see that cake - sounds phenomenal! Yes to potty mouth - I can't really control myself when a. drinking and b. not in the company of children. DH was very shocked the first time we went on a date, having already spent a lot of time together, but in the setting of a school.

Verity I am so sorry your DS is experiencing difficulties in lessons and it's horrible for him to be starting the school day feeling so miserable. What is his teacher like at liaising with the SEN department? Sometimes communication across school isn't what it should be and, if she's inexperienced, she may not be fully aware of the extent of DS' dyslexia (particularly as he's so bright) and may not be particularly well versed in approaches/strategies. My Mum is a super-whizz expert in the field - will ask her about it when I next talk to her; I feel a bit out of the loop. Icey would probably be able to help plenty, but imagine she is otherwise engaged Wink.

I am looking for some low book-shelving (single, possible double shelves) that one can put cushions on top of and sit on for DS' room. We have one of these for the playroom, but am keen for DS to have something in his room that is easily accessible. The Ikea Expedit would do, but am unsure of how much climbing on it could take. Any ideas?

Hopefully · 23/03/2012 14:13

Reine we need cake pics!!!

MarshaBrady · 23/03/2012 14:14

Looby it's orange Céline. (thumbnails, small bags lined up). Small, bright and light!

Fleecy yes definitely! I have never really got in to big label bags, but I love Céline now and could happily have more.

Verity love the Bonpoint inspiration. Good luck for next week.

Thanks Pickled !

Reine what an ace cake.

Red I didn't notice Grin

Emo76 · 23/03/2012 14:34

hopefully it is not as glamarous as it sounds particularly the aftermath!

annie not sure if I can make it and slightly reluctant to attempt a meet up with my children for the sole reason I won't be able to catch up witn anyone properly and just get frustrated (AIBU?!)

amber I wonder that too. But it doesn't put me off!

Spring feels here in London - beautiful day.

MarshaBrady · 23/03/2012 14:36

Also Reine's post reminds me. Someone said a lovely compliment at the meet up. To which I should have said thank you. Blush.... Although I'm sure people's memories are as hazy as mine. Grin

I can't find any summer stuff!

The charity shop near me is as expensive as real shopping. £60 to £250 for 'vintage'. It's better as a clothes swap place, drop something off and get credits. Wonder if you've been in that one Annie?

MarshaBrady · 23/03/2012 14:37

Emo I'm tempted to bring only one child.

My friend really wants to meet up and I have persuaded her to meet in evening instead as she is a sahm with school age and has loads of free time. I crave free time and said I'd rather have a break from my children!
