Codandchips · 18/03/2012 21:38

I have shifted some weight recently- middle aged spred type. Am not overweight but this was straining the old wasit bands a bit.

OH MY GOD, i forgot how nice it is when everything fits. How much better it is when you glimpse yourself nekkid and arent revulsed ;)
why do i let this happen twice a year? :)

Codandchips · 18/03/2012 21:59

ScarfOfSexualPreference · 19/03/2012 00:02

I've lost 9st 5lb in total- I can notice a bit of difference, yes Grin

Seriously though that took me ten years, in stages. Currently in (hopefully) my final loss stage, only erm.... 2-3 more stone to go!

It's freaking me out how different I am, today I bought a stretchy type dress for the first time ever in a size 14, I'm planning to wear it with just tights under and not shorts too for the chaffing! Odd times.

PerryCombover · 19/03/2012 00:40

scarf, do you have extra skin?
i have a ledge/ridge of c/s that won't ever leave

QZ · 19/03/2012 00:43

OK- astonishing weight loss aside (! v impressive) what on earth is a scarf of sexual preference???

DialsMavis · 19/03/2012 08:01

Wow, scarf! I have recently lost 13 KGB and want to lose at least another 5. I ate lots yesterday and can't stand feeling so uncomfortably full anymore, I didn't actually realise how much I used to eat, as it was fairly healthy.

The only downside is that DP got me a vintage engagement ring for Christmas which was too small. I had it resized but they said once it was done it would probably have to stay like that..... It's huge on me now! Smile

Squitch · 19/03/2012 08:08

I've lost a stone and a half and want to lose another stone and a half. It is brilliant. I feel so much healthier. Even ran to the shop yesterday with my dd (which granted isn't very far but I wouldn't have made it to the top of the drive a few months ago).

I do find myself slipping a bit now though and last week I didn't lose anything (though I'm trying not to let it get to me as I didn't put any on either).

And wow Scarf - that's incredible and inspirational!

ScarfOfSexualPreference · 19/03/2012 08:32

Perry Yup sadly tons of skin, just all round bad body but I think I'd sooner have that than be so unhealthy. I just have control garments and the possibility of a tummy tuck at some point. I'd love to sort my arms out too.

QZ It's from the Harry Potter musical, well they have a sorting hat for houses in HP, the musical also has a second piece of magical clothing!

Dials I know that feeling, had a bad couple of binge days the past couple of weeks and urgh, I forget that ucomfortable feeling. Trying to keep it in mind so I don't do it again! I only have one ring, it's huge now but it's not special. I've yet to meet anyone special enough to give me a ring!

Squitch Thanks, it's hard work and erm... I did go up rather than down for two years but on track with the end in sight. Well done on your loss! When I started I could barely walk 100y now I do between 4-8 miles walking a day for work, no problem!

Sorry op for stealing your thread, I'm just a happy bunny this week as I'm so, so close to going from 'obese' to 'overweight'. Goal always on my mind!

alessthandomesticgoddess · 19/03/2012 08:38
Envy

I've almost lost a stone and I haven't noticed it anywhere.

gingerbubs · 19/03/2012 08:56

You are all inspiring me. I must get started (again) today. Can't wait to feel that way!

OlympicEater · 19/03/2012 12:00

Me too ginger.

I'm a serial diet thread lurker but seem to be going in the wrong direction to often for my liking.

I need a blunt friend to say "Oi take yourself in hand, get off your backside and go for a run"

Codandchips · 19/03/2012 12:18

the chafing people talk about would really motivate me

OP posts:
Codandchips · 19/03/2012 12:20

I do think that its an amazing freedom even from my measly 7 lbs to Scarfs almost TEN stone.
I do wish people would be more encouraging of others to lose weight on here rather than to "Live with it"
i always remember oprahs "live your best life" mantra

I am finding this inspiring. Please keep up the pep talk stuff!

I like the 'live your best life' mantra. A very good thought.

Codandchips · 19/03/2012 13:03

yes and it is hard. but every day i want to scoff i try and remember that feeling of zipping up a pair of trousers that fit well.

I bet shopping in mainstream shops for those losing 10 stone is AYMAYZING

OP posts:
Codandchips · 19/03/2012 13:05

the thing is that I do this twice a year or so. I excercise twice a week but KNOW that its looking again at portion sizes, cutting out booze and increasing fruit and veg that shifts weight for me, not running around.
I think everyone should have to weight themselved once a week not forget to replace the battery on the scales ;) so that they have an alarm weight.
I should take my own advice a bit,

OP posts:
otchayaniye · 19/03/2012 13:12

it is great not carrying around body fat. i feel light and nimble.

i've been an big boobed 8-10 most of my life but. moving to asia and in first pregnancy i piled it on and reached a 14.

i've since had another baby and have lost all the weight and more without dieting and am now a small soze 8.

annoying that people can't stop commenting and trying to feed you up. they wouldn't dream of drawing attention to slow weight ai, so why weight loss?

i'm also peeved at. having to sell all my clobber

Levantine · 19/03/2012 13:21

I'm really glad you posted this, I know I feel much better when my trousers aren't tight but can't seem to get there right now.

I find if I do the tiniest bit of exercise it stops me eating too much. Haven't done any since pg with DC2 though and he is now 17 months

Ephiny · 19/03/2012 13:34

I lost about 1 1/2 stone, which doesn't sound very much, but it's a fair amount when you're short with a small frame, and it means I'm now a size 8-10 rather than a 12, and feel I look like me again.

I'm much happier for it, and it didn't take any particularly onerous dieting, just stopping stuffing myself with crap I didn't need or really want out of boredom/stress.

Next step though is to try to get fitter and stronger. I don't really want to lose much/any more weight as such, but I could probably do with being in better shape generally, and having less body fat and a bit more muscle...

MsNorbury · 19/03/2012 13:39

yes agree excercise is a good distractor

MsNorbury · 19/03/2012 13:40

Ephiny you want to try body pump
its an amazing class - really works on muscle.
is a franchise so there will be a class near you

happyhorse · 19/03/2012 13:42

It is ace! I've lost almost 2 stone and am the smallest I've been for years. I'm looking forward to a summer of lovely little dresses. Well done to you all.

MsNorbury · 19/03/2012 13:49

yup and no gaping trews overhang or " things that shrunk"

ahem

upper arms OUT OUT OUT

PerryCombover · 19/03/2012 14:06
