New bowl of crisps, tuck in Ruby!

I am thrilled at this Pixi lust. Another of their things wot I like is the cheek gel in natural. It doesn't stay on very long but while it does it's well pretty.

I felt a bit rubbish yesterday and spent much too long hunched over the computer looking at not very edifying things. Today is better. Have shredded, spot cleaned the stair carpet, written a letter to DD who will be at an outdoor pursuity place with school next week and am now going out to buy some fabric conditioner at Wilkos. When the mice are away the cat does rather boring things, it would seem Blush.

Fantastic news, Wilbur!! I bet your stress-levels were off the scale this week - that lead-up to exchange is so nail-biting, even without a killer deadline. So is it the same house you were always after, or did that one fall by the wayside? So many housemoves (?!) I'm losing track.

We've just got back from a lovely meal out with friends but managed to hit a deer on the way home. Sad A busted light, cracked bumper and lots of deer fur stuck to the front of the car. Sad We turned round and went back up the dual carriageway but couldn't see the deer, so hoping it isn't lying injured somewhere.

wilbur · 21/04/2012 20:57

Oh gosh, CV, that's scary. The deer is most likely fine - they are much bigger and stronger than you think.

Re the house, it's the one we've always been after, the only one we were prepared to move for. It's only about 10 mins from where we are now, a bit further south and east - heading over towards MI's gaff... Grin

I didn't get time to evaluate the deer species as it flew over the front bumper, but I think it was a roe deer - that particular road runs through Holmwood Common where there's a herd. But it was only a tiddler. Sad

If you'd hit it a bit harder, CV, you could have popped the deer in your boot and filled the freezer later. Grin

Blackduck · 22/04/2012 08:18

Oh wilbur I am Envy went out last night and had mooosive whinge about loony looflusher's insulting offer so feel a bit better today. Funny, our mortgage offer runs out in June so maybe there's hope yet ;)
CV not nice...
Dp and ds are off to do lots of sporty stuff today (zipwire, kayaking, skiing etc) I intend to do bug all...

bigTillyMint · 22/04/2012 10:04

Wilbur, great news - how soon do you move?

CVShock - how scary. MrsS Grin

I am sitting here nursing a hangover after a fantastic party last night - shame we had to get back for the babysitter. Roll on when we can leave them home alone when we go out for a night. What age do you think that would be?

Blackduck · 22/04/2012 10:59

My bugger all has so far meant hoovering, washing kitchen floor, cleaning the cooker, putting clothes away and now need to go shopping.....so much for a lie in with a good book.

bigTillyMint · 22/04/2012 12:14

Just been for anniversary brunch with DH and I'm feeling slightly better....

herbaceous · 22/04/2012 13:52

Happy anniversary BTM!

Happy moving Wilbur!

Happy car repair CV!

Happy boss whipping, Mrs S!

BD, sit down for goodness sake.

My DP is finishing his final essay for his masters degree this weekend, which has meant yet more days to fill on my own with DS entertainment. Have been promising to take him swimming all weekend, so will have to this afternoon! Took him to the park this morning, and bumped into about 10 people I knew. Really nice. It might not be glamorous around here, but it really feels like home.

CointreauVersial · 22/04/2012 13:54

Happy Anniversary, BTM!

Ours is next month (10 years - yikes!!), but it clashes with the date for the Football Club Trophy Evening. Not exactly my choice of anniversary evening entertainment; ironically, I'm the Club Secretary, but clearly didn't make a strong enough case for an alternative date. Last year's was on DH's birthday, and he was very grumpy having to spend the evening behind a bar serving drinks to other people.

bigTillyMint · 22/04/2012 14:00

ThanksSmile It's our 12years one (16 years and aweek since we first met, eeek!)

CV, celebrate at lunch/brunch time instead, like us (hopefully not hungover!) - no babysitter needed, at least!

Blackduck · 22/04/2012 14:56

BTM congrats.... (dp and I notched up 25 years last year...blimey I have been with him longer than I haven't .... )
Herbs I have sat down now :)

Congrats on your new house, wilbur! Hope the move goes smoothly.

MrsS, it certainly sounds like you need to have a word or two with your Überboss. And I hope the kitten will not continue to be as expensive at the vet's.

CV- eww, re: vension splatters.

BTM, Happy Anniversary.

Ours is also next month. 8 years, but feel as if I have been married forever as I served 10 years' time in my first marriage and only had a year off between marriages one and two Grin

MI, I can second your recommendation of Sun Sense products. They make a rather fab factor 50 that comes in a roll-on which is ideal for keeping in a handbag. As we often pop down to the beach on a whim in the summer, I tend to always have factor 50 about my person so that I can slather it on my very fair-skinned family. I wear only factor 15 on my face the rest of the year, despite having already had 4 basal cell carcinomas removed (all damage done in my early 20s when I was working in vineyards), but I do wear a damn big hat in the summer and rarely expose much of myself to the summer sun.

I am feeling weedy and incoherent at the moment. No real reason.

Dh has purchased a guitar amp for dd - which he promised to do ages ago - and our house is now a lot less quiet. It is like someone invited Iron Maiden round and got them really, really pissed and then cut half their guitar strings.

bigTillyMint · 22/04/2012 19:28

Stropps, so glad I'm not in your house today Grin

I must get some decent sun-screening moisturiser - lucky I'm meeting a friend in town on Tues!

TheReturnOfStropperella · 22/04/2012 19:41

Um, ruby, LIONS??

BTM, yes, no place here for anyone with a hangover Grin

bigTillyMint · 22/04/2012 19:43

Yeah, Stropps, I was wondering about the lions too. Maybe she has a friend who is a zookeeper??? Confused

Just thought you'd like to know I made £151 on eBay this evening, flogging Pippa and her teeny tiny wardrobe. Yay!

Ladies, we are in need of a new thread. Someone else needs to think of a snazzy thread title - I'm no good at such things.

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/04/2012 21:53

The person who does the 1000th post can think of a new name! Grin

I am uninspired, and I don't think we can beat Planet of the Crepes.

I have a lot of Jackie/Tammy/Diana annuals from the 1970s, which the DDs regard with horror. Can I flog them, or should I just chuck em into the recycling?
