New bowl of crisps, tuck in Ruby!

I am thrilled at this Pixi lust. Another of their things wot I like is the cheek gel in natural. It doesn't stay on very long but while it does it's well pretty.

I felt a bit rubbish yesterday and spent much too long hunched over the computer looking at not very edifying things. Today is better. Have shredded, spot cleaned the stair carpet, written a letter to DD who will be at an outdoor pursuity place with school next week and am now going out to buy some fabric conditioner at Wilkos. When the mice are away the cat does rather boring things, it would seem Blush.

Strops - get you with your snazzy pumps!

I'm sure you won't relax until DH is in the clear, but yesterday's news must be a massive weight off your mind.

Wilbur - if only we had a "crawl space" for a loft....Having a 26 foot long boarded loft with door access is the main reason I needed to do a car boot sale - it is like the black hole, sucking in junk from far and wide.

Blackduck · 14/04/2012 23:29

Stropps :) :) at news.....

bigTillyMint · 15/04/2012 08:08

Stropps, fantastic Smile Wine!

motherinferior · 15/04/2012 11:35

Wotcher all Grin

I did catch up briefly with all your news online but wifi conked out before I could say hello Grin. Have had loverly week orf although am now desperately in need of a haircut (I have a Hair Do or possibly even a Hair Don't atm) and am v cheered by Stropps' news.

Saw my friends with their little girl who has a brain tumour on Easter Sunday. She's responding well to her treatment (which is the only sort which has any chance of a cure at all, and is brutal) but oh god it is awful for them. Sad

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/04/2012 07:01

SmileSmile at Stropps' news.

Need to sort out some leave this week to take DDs to Disney. I do get tired of the fact that I have to jump through so many hoops to get leave. And that the rest of senior management seems to get to work from home without any difficulty but I don't. I appear to be the only person in the office on a Friday now. Hmm

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/04/2012 14:20

PAGE 3, hags? Shock

Do you have lives or something?

Our kitten has started to pee on anything left on the bathroom floor (the good thing about this is that it has encouraged the DDs to keep the bathroom tidy and not dump their clothes and towels in the bath or on the floor). I have no idea why...her box is nice and clean. Sad

bigTillyMint · 17/04/2012 14:37

No life here - just nothing interesting to post Grin

Pets are overrated IMHO - particularly after our entertaining but time-consuming doggy escapades on hol Smile

TheReturnOfStropperella · 17/04/2012 17:57

No life here either. I spent yesterday afternoon and evening re-organising my water butts system (more complicated than it sounds, honestly). Grin Have now realised that I need an overflow pipe and they are blardy sold out everywhere. Bugger. Anyway, see - no life Grin

oldqueenie · 17/04/2012 18:30

too much life here. i have a full on week, dss still off school, decorators in house, dog very stressed by them..... am trying to rule them all by remote control as I rush around. it's hard work. roll on next week....

Blackduck · 17/04/2012 19:24

No life here, viewings, second viewings, stupid questions, no offers. Work, work, more work. Boss leaving, stress, stress. Nagging ds re piano. Dog to vet. See, no life...... (watched all 10 episodes of game of thrones and all 5 of horrible histories - see - proof - no life)

bigTillyMint · 17/04/2012 19:28

BD, what is game of thrones?

Blackduck · 17/04/2012 19:31

BTM it is a fantasy/Scfi thing - all over sky at mo ( second series). Is actually quite good 'until the dragons turned up'

CointreauVersial · 18/04/2012 00:25

Strops - did you see the item on the News at Ten tonight about revolutionary ultrasound treatment for prostate cancer? Don't know if it's applicable to your DH, but they've had pretty good results.....

TheReturnOfStropperella · 18/04/2012 09:56

Yes, thanks, CV. My ears did prick up when I heard mention of that on the news yesterday. The treatment is still in a very experimental stage at the moment, so isn't on offer generally. Which is a shame, as I would probably put dh forward for it :) I am currently deep in gloom again as a) I have PMT and b) I unwisely read up about the treatment he has been offered and had to digest the stats about v. nasty side effects. Less likely than with other treatments, but still not great.

Oh well, I'm sure I will feel better again once my hormones allow me to. Feh. Dh is carefully ignoring all details about the treatments and the doc has advised me to leave him to do that. Hmm.

BD, sorry to hear still no sensible offer. Maybe the next viewing will be The One.

MrsSchadenfreude · 18/04/2012 18:19

I have had quite a crap two days off to "do things with the girls." Yesterday DD2 and I went to the Jardin d'Acclimatation to see the new Japanese garden and go on some small roller coasters. It was freezing cold and peeing with rain, and half the rides weren't open. We braved it for about three hours, had a Bento box for lunch and then had a hot chocolate and cake in Angelina's to warm up before trekking home, wet and cold.

Today we were supposed to be going to Disney, but due to an unfortunate cat related incident in the night, I required a lie in, so we went to the cinema on the Champs Elysees (our closest one) to see Mirror Mirror. Then went to M & S and bought cheese, clotted cream and biscuits and got 2 bras for DD1 which was a huge result as she is very difficult when it comes to bras. They are as crap at fitting here as they are in UK, so I fitted her myself Grin which was difficult as DD1 won't let me see her boobs or back, so there were some raised voices in the fitting room, as I pointed out that I couldn't check the fit with her hands clutching her boobs. We finally reached a compromise, and I was allowed to check the fit of the back, and she removed her hands from her front for long enough for me to check the fit. She ended up with a moulded T shirt bra - the difficulty she has with the moulded bras is that her boobs seem to sit quite low in the cup, so there is a lot of "air" at the top, and going down a cup size doesn't help, as it just gives her four, like a cow. We spent almost as long in M & S getting her bra sorted as we did in the cinema...

I am back at work tomorrow but have suggested that the DDs go swimming in the morning and to the cinema in the afternoon to see Pirates. DD1 wants to see the Hunger Games again, but DD2 isn't sure about it.

As you can see, life in Paris can be quite as dull as life anywhere else.

CointreauVersial · 18/04/2012 18:46

MrsS, you do disappoint me. I had visions of you in a Breton top and ballet flats skipping down the Champs Elysees clutching a baguette. Grin

Off out tonight for a girly birthday do - yay! Unfortunately I will have to sort out dinner for everyone else before I go.

MrsSchadenfreude · 18/04/2012 19:21

It was more shuffling in Uggs and a dull brown mac this pm, CV. Grin

I have told asked DD1 to cook dinner tonight. There is no sign of it having been started.

motherinferior · 18/04/2012 20:05

Well, Mr Inferior informs me he is off to a conference next week. It is an emergency, he is stepping in for his boss, yadda yadda yadda.

HE IS GOING TO NEW EFFING YORK. To run salt into the wound, he will waltz past the people queuing to be let into the US, clutching the US passport he has by virtue of the whole four days he lived there (was born there); and apparently 'has to attend' the 'hottest show in NY' which his organisation is sponsoring. Mr Inferior, it should be noted, has the cultural awareness of...our cat. Our thickest cat. Our thickest cat on a very bad day.

Envy Angry Envy Angry Envy Angry Envy Angry Envy

MrsSchadenfreude · 18/04/2012 20:14

What is the show?

You need to send him with a shopping list. A long one.

motherinferior · 18/04/2012 20:16

I can't exactly work out what the show is. (Small theatre company, will link when I've found out properly. Arty stuff.)

I think I am going to nip out to the Levis shop tomorrow and get measured for some Curve jeans.

bigTillyMint · 18/04/2012 20:21

MI, I feel your pain. DH had to accompany a school trip to NY a few years ago - 5 days, all free Envy Angry And this was after a 2 week school cricket trip to Barbados (also free) when DD was about 15months old and I was pregnant with DS Envy AngryEnvy AngryEnvy Angry

I am taking DD to NY when she and my friend's DD (who is her friend) are 15 and have stopped growing Smile

In other news, just been to DD's GCSE Options evening. She is only 12! They start their GCSE's next year - Y9....

motherinferior · 18/04/2012 20:23

I have never been to NY. DP does offer, from time to time, to send me. In fact he is now offering to send me to India. Except I have to sort it all out, and I end up just cowering and feeling overwhelmed.

In other news I got a freebie toothbrush today. A really posh one that appears to work by satnav. I feel overwhelmed by that too.

Am generally feeling small, and overwhelmed.

bigTillyMint · 18/04/2012 20:31

I have never been either, MI, and DH doesn't like shopping - hence why I am very jealous.

Satnav toothbrush sounds good, though I'm not sure I will need one much longer as my teeth keep falling out Sad

Mr Inferior doesn't like shopping. Which is one reason why giving him a list seems rather a good idea [evil]
