Perfect for the office party

OP posts:
SeeLyon · 31/10/2011 09:04

my mum buys that cardigan all 70 year old women have
a variety on this

notyummy · 31/10/2011 09:08

Dear.God.

That jumpsuit in the OP and that red £229 monstrosity have floored me.

Why??

I do like my £19.50 patent heels though Grin.

openerofjars · 31/10/2011 09:16

I love the way that for every grotesque offering, the blurb points out which particular detail "makes it extra stylish".

No, it doesn't. It makes it frilly, or hairy, or orange, or weird. But not stylish.

polyhymnia · 31/10/2011 09:24

Some good laugfhs here.

Seriously though, really do wonder who it is that this stuff is aimed at - the Speziale isn't even cheap!

Can assure fuzzy that there are plenty of 'ladies' who may be 'more mature' and/or 'larger' but who, far from buying it, would not be seen dead in it, any more than she would!!!

polyhymnia · 31/10/2011 09:25

Or 'laughs' even!

Annanymous · 31/10/2011 09:46

Purple - I have a sore tummy laughing at that top. I've watched the video twice trying to work out what kind of animal it is. It looks like a rabbit with a bow round it's neck. Hilarious.

LaPruneDeMaTante · 31/10/2011 09:50

These threads just get better and better Grin
WHAT are they THINKING???

Dear MNHQ, please can we have the creative mind at Per Una on for a webchat? Somebody has to say something.

Annanymous · 31/10/2011 09:51

Roadkill

polyhymnia · 31/10/2011 09:52

Yes, webchat with head of design for Per Una a brilliant idea.

I think that feather/foxtail top is positively sinister/kinky.

Annanymous · 31/10/2011 09:52

and it's brother

Very speziale

Annanymous · 31/10/2011 09:54

oops

BecauseImAWerewolefIt · 31/10/2011 09:58

SeeLyon - I bought that cardigan the first season it came out. Then it was something quite different, and the colours were fab.

However, it quickly went to the charity shop when I realised it was being churned out every season and in every colour!

LaPruneDeMaTante · 31/10/2011 10:02

Serious question and not meant with prejudice, I just lived in Eastern Europe for a bit so...
Do you think they are aiming those furry jacket things at middle-aged Eastern European women? Because that could be quite a reasonable business plan.
Similarly I was in a European country recently and observing the middle-aged women, I thought Per Una could clean up there.
It's a very different sort of style to British, isn't it?

Annanymous · 31/10/2011 10:07

Prune - I think you are onto something there. The Russians would love those furry jacket things.

polyhymnia · 31/10/2011 11:48

Ah, so in fact what we have been laughing at are 'beautiful investment pieces' ...

spooktrain · 31/10/2011 12:22

this would make perfect halloween wear (if you want to go as a cross between a bat and a bin bag)

www.marksandspencer.com/Speziale-Wool-Rich-Quilted-Coat/dp/B005DOKSG4?ie=UTF8

I have just checked out the designers and now it's all falling into place - it's Italian middle-aged housewife wear. I see these shiny, quilted, padded, furry monstrosities on a daily basis. "Wet-look" puffa jacket anyone?

purplewerepidj · 31/10/2011 12:32

Dexter, how old is your Mum? I thought I had the generations sewn up Confused

It is only the Per Una shite we don't get, there are bits of the rest of it that are perfectly acceptable (I have my eye on these)

Anna, my bunny would love that coat - as a life partner Hmm

hiss42 · 31/10/2011 12:38

I'd wear that cutesy bow cardigan and i'm 21... other than that furry jacket I don't see the problem with it myself. Especially that velvet floor length dress, if I had a figure like her i'd wear it!

notyummy · 31/10/2011 13:44

Aaaaah!

Because I have been looking at those links and sniggering, the scary 'Minority Report' advertising systems we now have on the internet means that I have just been assaulted by Per Una horror after horror in a slide show on the Guardian website.

There.is.no.escape.

dexter73 · 31/10/2011 15:11

My mum is 73 but has awful taste in clothes! She has this brooch which she wears on her bright purple Per Una coat!!!

mathanxiety · 31/10/2011 15:19

Two reviewers feel they have been victims of a bait and switch. 'I totally agree with the previous reviewer- this is not what I ordered, and I can't even see this baggy, shapeless sweater anywhere on the website. M & S, where is the nice looking sweater I ordered???'

This is what they are referring to. All I can think of is bile. I think they should count their blessings.

LowLevelStabbing · 31/10/2011 15:22

WOWZERS!! [hshock]

they're really going for, er, 'it' aen't they??

Spectacular.

AddamsflimFlamily · 31/10/2011 15:42

these would go nicely with the shaggy red cape, I feel. (Honey Monster, anyone?)
