I'm sorry but the one photo of me in existence has vanished in a puff of mineral veil. Earth could not sustain its BE beauty Grin

I have a spot on my cleavage ON MY CLEAVAGE I tells you. Bastard hormoans!

I am raging with PMT and trying to pick fights with everyone from the cat to poor DH. Tips anyone? Someone please say chocolate

OP posts:
Jux · 19/10/2011 12:10

Lots of chocolate.

Servants (use those around you if you don't actually have any, but do put it on your 'to do' list, as servants are jolly useful - particularly for trotting down the shop to get chocolate).

Er, that's it....

OhThisIsJustGrape · 19/10/2011 12:36

Other than what Jux suggested, I find evening primrose tablets work really well in the battle to control my rage (and spots, sore boobs, tearfulness, the list goes on...) you may have to take them every day for a couple of months though before they kick in.

I prefer the idea of getting servants though :)

MinnieBloodBar · 19/10/2011 13:35

I went into Boots today to get some primer, couldn't see any other than the teeny tiny L'Oreal, so I asked a member of staff and she just gave me the 'duh?' look. Turns out they only do that one and Maybelline which is also stupidly small. I've been using Beauty Flash Balm instead for the last week or so and that's been working quite well so I just got Boots own version of that which will have to do until I get round to ordering some Avon... need to actually do more freelance work to pay for all of this which is getting in the way!!

JodieHarsh · 19/10/2011 13:41

Jux with your blessing I'll be troughing some Sainsbury's Basics Green & Black's tonight.

Grape can you take evening primrose if TTCing? I am a long-term TTCer - like, since about 1856 long-term - and using various herbs and whatnot to try and make my silly insides function a bit better - I wonder if EP is OK for that stuff???

Min I know what you mean. ALl I want to do is perfect my beauty regime, which takes money, which means working, which means less time for titivating

OhThisIsJustGrape · 19/10/2011 14:27

Jodie not sure tbh, I know it's safe to use in late pregnancy as midwife suggested I insert capsules of it to encourage labour. I decided to wait :) Good luck with the ttc, it took us a year with our last one and I was demented by the time I did fall pregnant, the stress and heartache of long term ttc must be tough going indeed.

Minnie I've been using BE primer, it's very good. Glad you didn't buy the L'oreal one as I think it would be rubbish as it's an odd texture. Boots do a No.7 primer but I find it goes a bit chalky so doubt that would work either.

It's a full time job this make up lark, no?

ggirl · 19/10/2011 14:34

Aargh just back from Boots , I bought the no7 primer , as I had £5 voucher off.
Hope it's not too chalky for me.
The maybelline one is twice the price (£9.99 for thimble full) so didn't get that one.
I've got some JL vouchers that I could use to get myself some BE .

Today I am wearing the medium-beige and it's a tad too dark so think orange ladie's right the medium will be good for me.
May risk getting my face done in public to check first though.

OhThisIsJustGrape · 19/10/2011 15:00

I think the no.7 would be better if you moisturise very well first and don't use too much of the primer. It left White marks on my face though.

JodieHarsh · 19/10/2011 15:10

Thanks Grape :) I'm sure it'll happen when the time's right (or something). Coming up for 2 years now. Have learned the hard way just to not talk about it to anyone except DH and 1 or 2 others. Ho hum. Perhaps my newfound BE confidence will have me bonking 3 times a day from henceforth Grin

I'm intrigued by all the primer buying - mine's only a wee one from BE and will run out before long, so must be prepared!

OP posts:
valiumredhead · 19/10/2011 16:16

I really don't like the No 7 primer - very odd stuff!

ggirl · 20/10/2011 08:05

god no7 primer is horrendous!!
agree ,leaves chalky white residue all over face
had to wash it all off this am and start again

wonder if they'll take ut back..as annoyed I bought it now..there was no tester available when I bought it

valiumredhead · 20/10/2011 08:13

Yes they will take it back - I have taken stuff back that was crap not suitable.

fannybanjo · 20/10/2011 13:18

Jodie I read that thread and feel very sad for you. I too feel that secondary infertility isn't as horrendous as interfility. I too have been in similar situation and both DH and I were investigated. I had severely damaged Fallopian tubes and DH had low sperm count and motility. We underwent IVF after 5 years of trying for a child and had DD1. I thought one would be where we ended but miraculously and with odds of million to one (Consultant's words) I had DD2 and DD3 naturally. I suffered years of torment and have never forgotten. Please don't give up hope. You're such a lovely lady who deserves to be a Mum. Hope you don't mind me mentioning it on here. Smile

OhThisIsJustGrape · 20/10/2011 16:17

Not a good day today, been awake since 5.15am, suffered 90mins of root canal work at dentist, DS2 managed to overfill his nappy so it ended up all over dd2's bed, toys, and bears and we have parents' evening in a little while!

Oh and my LL eyeshadow order hasn't arrived :( It had better turn up tomorrow, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms as seem to have had something make up related land on the mat most days over the past few weeks.

However, my face looks amazing Grin Despite the fact I spent the whole time I was in the dentists chair dribbling down my chin (god I'm such a catch Hmm) my foundation stayed untouched!

Jux · 20/10/2011 19:28

I've just done something I never thought I would! I've done dd's make up for a school disco!!!!! Using my BE of course, with strict instructions that just because I've done it for her once doesn't mean she can help herself. She's suffering from teen spots atm and is v pleased with the bisque. She does look lovely and doesn't look like she's wearing make up at all.

I would never normally have encouraged her to use foundation but with BE it's a bit different, isn't it? And it's a special occasion.

Jodie, I think you deserve Bendick's Bittermints (best chocs in the world).

JodieHarsh · 20/10/2011 19:55

Jux YES PLEASE Grin Although I myself think RitterSport chocolate bars are the superior chocolate form, I agree BBs come damned close. ALSO Nigella eats them...hang on...are you.....???? Grin So glad your DD can go out feeling confident about her skin. Makes such a difference doesn't it?

Fanny thanks so much. It was a tough thread and to be honest I said more than I ought to have done. I had not talked about those issues for months, and it all rather burst out. Unfortunately, despite repeated attempts to preserve my privacy, I was outed in RL, so I will be taking an MN break and namechanging Sad

I will however let you all know it's me although I'm sure it will be obvious

OP posts:
ggirl · 20/10/2011 20:50

Jodie -sorry you're going through hard times regarding fertility. I can really empathise. I have 10 yrs between my two because of fertility issues.

OhThisIsJustGrape · 20/10/2011 21:16

Oh no Jodie, I didn't see the thread but it sounds as though you've had a hard time of late. And a big boo to getting outed, I dread that happening to me and would feel mortified. Hoping you can come back in disguise, this thread wouldn't be the same without it's founder. And bugger it, have a un-MN hug too :)

As for choc, it has to be Lindt with sea salt. I accidentally stumbled upon this at the beginning of the year have probably eaten my own body weight in it since Blush nom nom nom Grin

hester · 20/10/2011 22:29

Jodie, I didn't see the thread, but huge sympathies to you. I struggled for years to get pg and it was a truly traumatic time in my life.

I will look forward to meeting your new incarnation x

Jux · 20/10/2011 23:22

Oh Jodie, Sad, all this has passed me by. I'm so sorry, I had no idea you had a thread going or that you were having a really bad time, dumbass that I am. And to be outed on top.

Don't blame you for taking a break, name changing, whatever you need tom do, but do come back sometime, won't you.

valiumredhead · 21/10/2011 07:58

Oh no - what have I missed? Jodie are you ok love? Sad x

PinotScreechio · 21/10/2011 08:25

Jodie have PM'd you x

levantine · 21/10/2011 08:53

Aw Jodie. So sorry you had all this going on, I didn't realise either.

hester · 21/10/2011 10:32

Jodie had a bruising time on that thread but even more in RL, where she has now been outed to a number of people and is having to deal with a fair bit of flak. She wants you to know that she is lying low for a bit, but will lurk and return soon.

I suggest that everyone keeps swirltapbuffing in her honour Grin

valiumredhead · 21/10/2011 10:40

How awful Sad
