Isn't it nice too have so many lovely new things though annie?

red I am sure you are far slimmer and more glamourous than I! I am reducing DS's days at nursery so now need to find a nice playgroup on a Weds.

Skulking around in a mood as have gained back a pound - though as have been existing more or less exclusively on cake this week so I had it coming... To that effect I am wearing my White Stuff maxi with the Marant-a-like and biker boots - trying to cover a multitude of sins!

Off to clean my kitchen now - the glamour!

Nice leggings Roary- but def for a spider with their long slim legs and pert bottoms, not an hourglass/pear I think! The shiny fabric on the thighs, the lack of pockets to break up the expanse of my bottom..... I tried on something similar from the M and S Limited Edition range and it's fair to say I couldn't pull them off Grin.

Have just ordered. Would have been rude not to at 30% off. Now obv must by long lovely top to wear with them.

All this body type stuff is fascinating. Almost as important to figure out as colours! Talking of which...
Have been meaning to say for ages that a consultant who does the 12 seasons style colour analysis is going to be In London late sept early oct. Her name is nikki bogardus. No idea what she's like but think the whole 12 seasons thing pretty cool so might go. Cult of 12 seasons website is here with details of dates. Still unconvinced of my autumn status as my most fab and complimented colour is cobalt...

Those leggings are fab roary but I'm with you NY on the lack of pockets thing.

annie, love the sound of clothes swapping although none of my clothes would fit any of you lot. I could come along just for fun though...and bring nibbles Smile.

My lastest food craze is this Italian dessert. As if it isn't calorific enough, I add some whipped cream (from a tin Blush) and a handful of dark chocolate chips...heaven...you've got to try it.

I have been wearing these boots in brown a lot with skinnies and they are very comfy but look good too, would recommend.

pickledsiblings · 16/09/2011 16:38

Ollie, meant to say, hope you have a great time this weekend - looking forward to lots of lovely links (don't buy any more Karen Millen coats Grin).

IceCreamCastles · 16/09/2011 18:31

Please can I join the slim (ish) up top and chunky bottom gang? I'd love to have spider legs just to widen my trouser buying options.

Have had a frantic 24 hours thinking the house move might not happen as we were struggling to get 'normal' insurance that covered the underpinning work that was done a while ago to the house but all sorted now.

Annie- wow, what a lot of shopping!

Anyone else got the la Redoute autumn special brochure? I ordered some dresses and leggings for dd and a couple of stretchy tops for myself and as I spent over £30 I got £15 off plus a free purple jacket (doesn't look very nice but will prob eBay it) so quite a good deal.

Sympathies red and bloss re ds's behaviour- lots of changes for them, I'm sure they'll be back on good form soon.

notyummy · 16/09/2011 18:46

I feel the need for some chunky knitwear, but think I will put off until next month.

Need to outfit plan for next week. 3 days of big meetings at work, plus friends over for dinner on Wednesday night, night out with the girls (to celebrate the end of my friend's treatment for breast cancer) - dinner out, drinks plus at least 3 of them staying over. Lastly friends coming over for sunday lunch.

Hmm - mixture of casual and smart I think, as a certain amount of cooking is obviously going to be done.

Pickled - stop putting recipes like that on here, you temptress Wink.

pickledsiblings · 16/09/2011 19:12

You could serve affogato to your dinner guests for dessert NY. I serve it in a tall narrowish glass, it's so easy to make too Grin.

blossoming · 16/09/2011 19:27

Hi everyone!

My goodness annie, I think you should be awarded for services to economic growth! Does David Cameron know who you are?!
I was going to say, you're right, I don't really do animal print or wedges, I am much more a quilted ballet flat girl (especially when suffering from sciatica like today), but then I noticed I was wearing an animal print top today, and it's one of my favourites: this one here.

How is your friend notyummy? You have a great social life too. Look forward to hearing all about your lovely meals and outfits.

I came home from swimming and put on marl grey leggings and a white floaty top thing for bath duties etc, when the doorbell rang. I thought, well I look almost decent and I didn't have time to throw anything else on, and it was a parent of one of the schoolkids bringing his homework, and the child was in the car. Not my finest hour!

In answer to your question roary, I love it. It is a challenge, but I feel like I'm 'home' again. You know, this is what I do, what I know, what I'm good at. I never felt this way at home with the kids. I'm sure you understand. I have a feeling DH thinks he's got his wife back. I'm also much more organised round the house. My cleaner has left, but I'm not getting another one. I can manage, and anyway, we're all out during the day so there's much less mess.

Who has interesting plans for the weekend? DH has been in London for the day and will be back late. So wine for one here! Probably a quiet one as it is DS's birthday next weekend, then I'll be celebrating mine on the next one, then meet up after that. Phew!

My plans for the weekend are not exciting bloss - today is DD's 5th birthday and tomorrow morning we've hired a soft play place for a couple of hours so we can do a proper low-maintenance party as I couldn't bear the thought of having to do lots of stuff! Have got little party boxes of food, a pinata, party bags and balloons already packed.

Have told the baby they can arrive tomorrow afternoon onwards. best not hang about. Not sure if they understood Hmm

Hope ollie is having an amazing time.

annie check you with all your links! I have a hat like that Accessorise one and would recommend.

Another one here a size bigger on the bottom half. Am pear-ish in terms of having thighs and wider hips but I have a small bum and put weight on my middle first so not sure exactly what I am! Still, spanx solves the midriff problem when it arises so I tend to dress to balance the hips and it seems to work okay.

Picked up the book 'The Blind Side' in the library for holiday reading. Really enjoyed it. Now watching the film on Sky Movies. Was crying at 22 mins!!

Have a good time tomorrow fleecy. Really excited for your new arrival.

I've seen that Bloss. V entertaining- although I am not sure she deserved an Oscar nomination tbh. I have a 'heart of stone' (am quoting DH who cries at anything...) so rarely cry at films. Finding Neverland was one notable exception. And when Dr Green died in ER.

notyummy · 16/09/2011 20:52

Yes, so exciting about another baby!

Quiet weekend here. Dh out tonight. Family stuff tomorrow. DH working on Sunday so I am taking DD out for lunch and then giving blood. She likes to come and get stickers and eat all the biscuits!

pickledsiblings · 16/09/2011 21:24

Bloss, lol at you getting spotted in leggings.

Must look out for that movie. Saw Jane Eyre at the cinema last night and really enjoyed it.

OllieinOrange · 17/09/2011 08:59

Hello! Running in to say i have had the most lovely day at Westfield (ended up being there for 8 hours!!!!) Loved everthing about the centre. Brought a few bits including Mulberry cufflinks for dh (fell in love with the grey taylor bag whilst there - watch this space!) a gorgeous grey and cream printed scarf from banana republic, cardi from m&s, few bits for the boys and a cream blouse. Will link later! Really enjoyed eating at Jamies, Snog frozen yoghurt and Pain de Qwotsitsname! More shopping and eating out today!
Hope all is well with everyone. Have great Saturdays x

maeluka · 17/09/2011 10:34

The 308 coat at Blossom Mother and Child is amazing - takes you through the whole of your pregnancy and out the other end too! You have to check it out!

blossoming · 17/09/2011 19:06

Hi everyone. And hi to maeluka. Thanks for the link.

Great to hear you're having a good time in London ollie. Such a lovely treat for you. Enjoy it and don't you dare feel guilty!

Great win for Ireland this morning. Luckily Wales are playing Samoa at 4.30am, so it will all be over by the time we get up. We have a long history of doing badly, or losing to the Samoans.

Hope everyone is having a glam and sociable Saturday. Heavy rain here, and I'm trying to work out how to do a rugby themed cake for DS's birthday this weekend.

Hi all! Not really a glam day here, but delighted to hear that Ollie is having so much fun. Watched the Ireland match this morning, which was great. Fairly leisurely day with a bit of exercise and pottering around the house. Quick nip to Costa with DH whilst dd at gymnastics.

Just been grilled by dd about how babies are made. Think I gave her the age appropriate details and only gave her what she needed. My mum was always v honest and approachable about these things. As a nurse she had seen both 12 year olds in labour and the results of botched abortions so she was always determined I would be armed with the facts from her at an early age to avoid me believing any stupid stories I heard in playground!

Feel like I have just breached a big parental 'rite of passafe' - and she's only five!
