18 month gap here red - DS a delight with the baby, so loving, but has gotten quite nasty with us when thwarted, as you say, scratching and hitting. I do get the "it's all the change and upheaval" line parroted at me by well meaning relatives but it is hard when you are the one dealing with it. DH was away for the w/e a couple of weeks ago and I was about ready to give him to Barnados after a particularly awful Sunday where he really showed me up in front of guests. He is for the most part a wonderful little boy though so I mustn't grumble too much!

Ambernj1 · 16/09/2011 00:01

Great idea annie though the thought of you stylish ladies in my tip of a house is quite alarming! Love the dress!

roary · 16/09/2011 08:44

Good morning ladies. I really want these fake leggings. I will still be cool if I buy them, right??

Bloss, (along came a spider who sat down besid'er) - thanks for the sympathies! And Fritzi, Rufus and amber, you're right, a Spider retains good legs even if the belly goes belly-up. I suppose the problem is that it's a very stealthy form of weight gain. I wear very few high-waisted clothes that cut around my fattest part, and my jeans ALWAYS fit because they are low-rise. So my weight gain can really creep up on me before I notice it. And I can't help but be slightly jealous of those who gain weight in proportion all over!

Red, oh, I did laugh in sympathy at your playgroup tales of woe. I took DD to one here. The first day she whinged incessantly and the second day was so menaced by a small boy with a sword that she refused to sit next to him at snack, earning me evils from the other mothers - but honestly, the kid had decked her with the sword about 10 times. I wouldn't have sat next to him either! I think playgroups may be my version of hell. I suppose you can meet good friends there with whom you can have more casual playdates and then it's all bit mroe relaxed.

notyummy · 16/09/2011 09:47

Roary - I can't get your link to work.

Annie - your idea is genius! Even if people came away empty handed I am sure everyone concerned would have a great time. If I didn't live in the wastes of Lincolnshire (slight exaggeration....but you get the picture) then I would there looking hopefully for some gems. I would possibly suffer from 'are my cast-offs less tasteful and chic than everyone else's??' anxiety beforehand though Grin.

I like that Jersey Knot detail top Amber. The colour reminds me of a dress I got a while back from Oliver Bonas that is fab and so easy to wear. Zembo also invested in a couple of them!

I am listening Annie!

Are these boots black? I have got so much wear out of my black ones!

redllamayellowllama · 16/09/2011 12:04

Annie - you weren't meant to love everything!! Good that you've got some winners though. Thank you for the hat link; well remembered. I'm going to wait till I get the coat and then see what works with it.

Amber we really are the same person (I also have the slim upper, chunky lower issue)! DS is such a lovely (he's at nursery this morning, so can look back at yesterday with some wry amusement) little boy, but I need to remember that he has never been one for playgroups - far prefers running around playgrounds or smaller play dates. But, as Roary says, the playgroups are a necessary evil to get to the play date stage. The problem I've got now is that DD is ripe for playgroups, so must find some on the days when DS is at Nursery.

My sisters are here for the weekend, arriving this afternoon and we are going to source some good drinking establishments this evening!

My wedges were the cheapo H and M ones Annie, but they have lasted. They are a bit higher than the Ash ones but still wearable because of the wedge - I couldn't do the same height in none-wedges!

Hello

Annie you are on fire at the moment. Def have the shopping MOJO!!

Have just received Boden leopard skin belt. Got the olive colour way and am really pleased with it. A little bit different to all the leopard stuff in the shops at the moment - which I have lots of and also love!
