Hi everyone. Come and join in with your lovely links to autumn/winter clothes!

Fritzi that could well be spot on; only concern is the possible lack of fitted-ness, but well worth a shot.

Pickled please excuse my rudeness in not congratulating you on the job; I meant to and completely forgot. Well done you.

DS has suddenly shot up and all of his trousers are swinging round the ankles and his little rain-coat barely covers his wrists. Has anyone seen anything particularly lovely anywhere?

MarshaBrady · 14/09/2011 20:07

Fritzi slouchy VB and Agnes, shoeboots sounds spot on and very lovely.

Emo lovely outfit too!

Red great re random meeting. Very helpful in a new area. I'm very pleased you will be happy in your new place. Maan is great for coats, but I must admit I get them in the sale (from Elias&Grace or Little Fashion Gallery).

Bonsoir sounds wonderful. Etro gold brocade dress will be fabulous. I think you should wear it. New suede boots could be good. Unless you have something in between a flat or very high, a shoeboot perhaps.

WAN lovely hair.

Anniemac Grin. A natural stylist!

wideawakenurse · 14/09/2011 20:09

red I love the Hatley raincoats here Very cute.

FritziGreenEyes · 14/09/2011 20:16

bonsoir Yes to the gold brocade Etro dress for Friday!

red Was concerned about lack of fittedness and that everyone will think I am pregnant. However the Agnes are a snug fit and DH said that I looked slim. Plus I feel comfortable in that outfit, even for dancing should the opportunity arise Wink.

red Please remind me: How old is DS?

FritziGreenEyes · 14/09/2011 20:18

wan snap! Was just browsing same website for little red's raincoat!

MarshaBrady · 14/09/2011 20:28

I am putting together a week of festivities at Christmas. Have booked most days but just need a lovely restaurant near or in Covent Garden. One which will be ok with child and toddler. Any ideas would be fabulous.

redllamayellowllama · 14/09/2011 20:40

Little red is 3 in November, which I cannot believe. Love, love the Hatley raincoats WAN and Fritzi - all his others have been hand-me-downs, but the hand-me-downer now had a new baby brother (damn it). Shall investigate further at JL for sizing.

Meant the jacket, not your outfit Fritzi! The outfit sounds fab; I think Agnes need balancing out with something looser.

FritziGreenEyes · 14/09/2011 20:44

red Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 14/09/2011 20:56

red How about this red jacket for DS? Also available in grey and blue.

This print from Next is nice too

Hello again everyone!
annie I just read a book about a little girl who moves across the world from her best friend (as has happened to mine) and sobbed like a baby. Unfortunately I was reading it aloud so was trying not to cry in front of DD! It suits her situation so exactly. It's this book.

Bloss is teaching fun? Are you enjoying being back at it? Don't worry about the way you look on camera, but it is distressing. Just caught sight of a photo of myself that made me horrified, more below.

Red sounds like the move has been great!

Pickled and everyone thanks for thinking of me while i was gone. It's been interesting here. On the pro side: it's nice to live in a big city again (even if it is a very isolated one); it's great in lifestyle terms (weather, beach, playground). So easy to do exercise. We live near a little gyn with a dropin aerobics program which is, I swear, like an hour long shred class. It has a little creche too. On the cons: work is going to be not nearly as good for me, but I knew that; occasionally people have a very isolated mindset; am desperate to be in our own house, but the weird timing of our move and my 3 month return to the UK makes that impossible for the moment. Sigh.

Bonsoir love your bling skirt.

My only clothing purchase in Australia has been this bathing suit

roary · 15/09/2011 04:09

Oops, didn't finish - meant to say that shred like aerobics has been great for me, have lost a lot of weight around my middle, but still hate it just now. Very odd that it all goes around my tummy, you honestly couldn't tell I'd gained so much weight in photos from before, except the tummy. My legs, face, etc all totally normal. Sigh.

OllieinOrange · 15/09/2011 06:59

Am having packing related stress - it appears I need to go shopping for an outfit to go shopping in!

Am v excited about my little trip but having all the usual feelings of guilt about going away, (hopefully) spending money etc etc. Hoping they will pass once I am at the airport with a starbucks hot chocolate in my hand.

We are looking to do a non-shopping activity on Sat afternoon (Shock) - anything worthwhile seeing in central London at the mo?

Back later - school run beckons.

blossoming · 15/09/2011 07:03

Some lovely boots in the Style for Less magazine that came with Elle this month. Saw some great Ash ones and possibly The Ones from R&B. Sort of 'your grandfather down the mine' boots.

Morning all.

Lovely to hear about your life in Oz Roary. We are hoping to be out there next April if DHs job doesn't scupper my plans for going away for 3 weeks!

Annie - childrens books can do that can't they? I nearly blub every time I read 'Dogger', when he finds his favourite toy again. DDs reaction when she was 2 and we read it for the first time was a classic. She was SO thrilled when we turned the page and there was Dogger (she has a an equivalent called 'Mo' that we have got 2 of in case one goes missing!) Shirley Hughes is a genius IMHO - I think she really 'gets' the world of small children and he pictures of children are absolutely gorgeous.

Busy day today with lots of driving around to different meetings. Wearing Jigsaw wool navy suit with Mango stripey blouse and new navy heels from M and S that look great one, but once again look dodgy in this picture.

FritziGreenEyes · 15/09/2011 09:49

Arghh, why can you only see five pairs of shoes/boots on the R&B website??? Angry

roary Life in Oz sounds good! But one hour of shredding?

ollie I can so relate to the guilt thing when going away. I had such a great time in Berlin last weekend but felt that it wasn't somehow "right" to swan off and leave DH and MIL to look after DD.
Just wear something simple you feel great in, layers you can take off as it is always so warm in London esp in shops and shoes you can walk in for hours without getting any blisters. Travelling without DCs is just so luxurious... coffee, magazines... bliss Smile

Does anyone know about body fat percentage? Had mine assessed yesterday and cannot find any reliable information about what should be target for me. Obviously the less the better but I am a bit Confused

notyummy · 15/09/2011 09:55

Fritzi- body fat ideal varies with age. At my age (39) anything up to around 31% considered ok (not unhealthy.) Fit/lean between around 20-25 %. Less than that generally only good for athletes who are eating correctly (plentifully of lean protein) and burning loads off.

FritziGreenEyes · 15/09/2011 10:02

Thanks notyummy! Mine is 26%, so I guess I should step up my exercise regime a bit...

blossoming · 15/09/2011 11:11

Have fun ollie

roary, I am so with you on the misery of being spider shaped! Look forward to meeting you.

Shuddering at thought of body fat % ! Wearing dvf today, tied so tight I can't breathe. Oh and spanx!

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 15/09/2011 11:30

bloss/roary Spider shape is not so bad: You can always show off svelte legs and arms and distract from the bits you are not happy with Smile.

redllamayellowllama · 15/09/2011 12:21

Have just returned from the world's worst playgroup session. DS pushed, shouted at and was generally vile to the majority whilst DD got into everything and kept on being returned to me with inappropriate objects in her mouth, as I tried to stop DS from his terrible ways. I was the most incompetent mother possible! DS cried all the way home and went straight to bed on his own volition. Maybe not a good day for playgroup.

Ollie hope you have a wonderful weekend and manage to enjoy yourself without too much associated guilt; know exactly what you mean.

Fritzi - that sounds pretty good to me, I'd have no worries with 26% body fat!

NY I very much like the shoes; your whole outfit sounds very nicely put together.

Roary it must be hard at the minute as you are in complete limbo. Hope that a bit of balance is restored when you're there for good. The lifestyle sounds amazing.

blossoming · 15/09/2011 18:09

Oh, you poor thing red. Hope you've recovered now.

We are having a terrible evening of it with DS too. He came home from school really tired, his cousin was next door. DS accused his cousin of being a big bully, then DS comes in and bullies DD. He has rugby tackled her to the ground and pushed her over on the wooden floor.
I fear worse is to come.

My sciatica has flared up after I carried too many books yesterday, so it will be a night off shredding.
Note to self, do not wear dvf when video teaching again. Somehow I looked all cleavage (and I wear a vest underneath which normally sorts this out), and one of my classes is 80% sixth form boys Blush.

OP posts:
rufus101 · 15/09/2011 21:50

Fritzi 26% body fat. Why are you complaining you svelte goddess? I don't want to know mine. Just in case its bad news.
Bloss lucky boys! I agree with Fritzi, I'd rather your shape than my pear any day. Much more difficult to conceal a robust bottom!
Must check out those shoes NY. A girl I work with ordered 4 pairs if shoes (same ones) in M and S, as she had size 3 feet, and they were very comfortable heels. When she went in to collect them, the assistants were all "oh, so they are all for you, and not 4 different people". She was laughingly explaining how comfortable they were, for running around at work when one of them sniffily said "isnt it happy for you, having a job you can wear shoes like that in"(miaow, saucer of milk)

Ambernj1 · 15/09/2011 22:06

red hope your day has improved, my DS has been "pushing the boundaries" lately too - what is your age gap?

bloss sympathy from a fellow sciatica sufferer, hope you're not suffering too much!

Re. Spider shape - I am so jealous of this, I am slim up top with chunky legs (no idea what shape that is) and I find it really hard to disguise, would love slim legs!

S&B news - have bought this jacket -very snug, this jumper dress - also snug and this maxi, never bought from White Stuff before but I saw it and I loved it!

Planning to order these and this too. Fancy this too - am eBaying frantically!

Also does anyone have the Boden drapey jersey top? am considering...

redllamayellowllama · 15/09/2011 22:25

Sorry to hear your DS is up to silly business too bloss, am writing today off after DS had a huge hitting, scratching tantrum (enough to draw gasps from those nearby) after i dared to put him in the buggy after being so wicked as to sit with him in Costa and treat him to a babycino for a good settling in sesh at nursery (praise the positive, praise the positive). Followed by emptying a bottle of calpol (i know, i know) on the floor to 'make it better'. I know lots of change has happened recently, but he's been feral today. Is made worse as he's been so great recently and i thought we were out the other side of being two. Gap is 22 mths Amber. Particularly like your new jumper dress.
