Hi everyone. Come and join in with your lovely links to autumn/winter clothes!

Grrr, have lost my oyster card, but far more significantly my Mulberry pass case - what are the chances of that being handed in?

Came away from anniversary shopping empty handed, should have learned by now that trying to shop with DS in tow is a no go. Therefore had to turn to the internet. Links later when I am less grumpy!

deepleaf great scarf, it is an investment!

red love that FC dress, tried the red short sleeve version on the other day, will probably buy!

ollie great skirt, would be very versatile I think, though definitely wouldn't suit my generous hips!

Am trying to decide how to squander wisely spend the £15 voucher Johnnie kindly sent, anyone had any good Boden buys lately?

blossoming · 13/09/2011 18:05

Running in quickly to say red, this is my school run coat.

IceCreamCastles · 13/09/2011 18:08

Aghh. Just had the most random disaster here. DD loves smelling herbs and spices while I'm cooking and managed to get the top of the smoked paprika and somehow got it in her eyes - cue screaming. I wasn't sure if it actually hurt or if it was just the shock so of course put some on my eye to see.

Can vouch for the fact that it is very very painful and then poor dd had to put up with me pouring water and milk over her face whilst mine was streaming as well. Not our finest 10 minutes!

The milk was a miracle worker by the way just in case anyone ever has an equally ridiculous occurrence.

Phew - will catch up with everyone else now

blossoming · 13/09/2011 18:51

Ouch icey!

Back to the school run coat, here it is again, I have it in royal purple. Before you all go, isn't that bloss frumpy, it is for those days when it is blowing a gale, the rain is lashing down, the bottom of your legs are soaked when the inconsiderate teachers let the kids out late, and you are just standing there, plus buggy, getting drenched. There!

OP posts:
carciofi · 13/09/2011 19:33

Bloss, you could never be frumpy. Forgot to say, I probably won't wear a dress.

Red, I wear the Barbour Kate plus hat a lot too, you are just going to have to get a spring/autumn raincoat AND a parka!

Amber, how annoying you lost your card.

Icey, your poor dd.

Pickled, well done on the contract.

Bonjour, your outfit sounds fab.

Mumsnut, the boots sound great.

I had a work friend who lost her dh on 9/11 (and saw it happen from our office), I lost touch with her for the last few years but sent her an email to an old address I found last week to say I was thinking of her. I am so happy for her, she has just replied saying that she has remarried and has a little girl.

FritziGreenEyes · 13/09/2011 19:45

I'm only gone for a few days and there is a new thread (thanks bloss!), a namechange, ollie is starting a blog (can't wait!!!), and fleecy is almost due Smile.

I seem to have completely lost my style mojo as I am a) hyperventilating about what to wear on Friday and b) have bought a grey fitted wool dress today which I loved in the shop. Tried it on at home and seems too tight and very, very short. And c) bought a pair of red jeans today which suddenly seem too bright.

Taking my hat off to bonsoir for wearing gold skirt and making it look fabulous!

It was awful for her. He was only 31.

Fritzi, I have red jeans too, they go with quite a lot, surprisingly, white, navy, neutral, black.

blossoming · 13/09/2011 19:59

carciofi, that must have been truly awful for you. How lovely that you managed to get back in touch with your friend and that she has been able to find happiness again.

Welcome back fritzi! Did your weekend go well? Is it the reunion this Friday?

Have been meaning to say, have fun in Barcelona deepleaf and portia. I have some great memories of the city, but non of them s&b sadly!

DH loves these jeans, and the model on the left in the blouse. He thinks I should go to the meetup like that. I am working on it.

OP posts:
IceCreamCastles · 13/09/2011 20:28

That's a good look bloss - I love that your DH is helping with your outfit ideas. Mine just rolls his eyes Grin

Carciofi - how terrible for your friend. Lovely that she is happy now though. Were you working in NY on 9/11? I can't comprehend how horrific it must have been.

Hi Fritzi. I'm sure you will look great. I would be hyperventilating at the thought of a school reunion too though.

Everything - I'm glad I made you Grin. It was good that I did it because I don't think I would have appreciated how much it was hurting her otherwise. Both fully recovered now but not something I want to repeat. She's normally limited to the tamer things - nutmeg, cloves etc. so not sure how it managed to sneak in. Grin at the beer.

Pickled - well done for getting the contract - sounds like it might work out better than the original anyway.

I actually enjoyed my day at work today for the first time in ages - busy but productive and staff enthusiastic about trying new things Smile

Thanks for those tips Fleecy - I'll try to track down the ebay seller and give the asos jeans a whirl. I fancied trying some coloured ones seeing as they'll only be worn for one season anyway but haven't found any yet.

Oh yes - and lovely to hear from you Roary - hope you're settling in well and enjoying your new exciting life.

essay over.

MarshaBrady · 13/09/2011 20:36

Icey oh that is mother's love right there Grin Made me Smile, Although poor both of you too.

Fleecy and Roary lovely to hear from you both! Looking forward to hearing more about Perth at meet up. Fleecy best of luck for big day!

Anniemac great Vanessa Bruno stuff, lovely as ever.

Bonsoir fabulous outfit and lunch. So glad you got it! I was so close.

Carciofi oh how horrible for your friend. And lovely she has a dh and daughter now.

Pickled that is excellent well done! Sounds better than original.

Time is precious these days as ds2 has stopped daytime naps.

Oh my word, I didn't realise how relaxing those two hours were... now they are not here any more.

AntPants1 · 13/09/2011 20:42

Welcome back to roary, fleecy and fritzi.

red and icey another big strictly fan here. Have also applied for tickets. Wouldn't it be great if we all got tickets for the same show!

Some very lovely links.

Am tempted by Kew Silver Bell skirt and grey Jalouse style boots. Have also got my eye on this great plains dress

www.greatplains.co.uk/product/womens+Dresses/J1AU6/Fairytale+Flower+Dress.htm

carciofi · 13/09/2011 20:52

Icey, yes I was. His parents are very inspiring, his father wrote an open letter called . Sorry if I upset anyone by posting this.

Bloss, DH is right, great outfit.

OllieinOrange · 13/09/2011 20:54

fritzi i know i have only seen you in one dress but would your sequin dress do for your reunion? It certainly is a wow dress and looks great on you? Given how you rocked all the jeans you tried on at Triology, bet red ones are good - post a pic?

icey bless you! My mum always used to say whenever i was ill that she wished she could take the pain away and have it instead - you went beyond the call of duty today!

Bonsoir not ordered the Kew skirt as they dont deliver over here but will try and track it down in London this WE.

Loving the Great British Bake Off tonight. Go Mary!

Fleecy · 13/09/2011 21:58

Love the metallic skirts.

Oh icey bless you and your DD!

pickled you must have really wowed them if you turned up late and were still offered something Smile

I like the idea of red jeans - do you have a link fritzi?

Went to pick DD up from her second day at school and she has decided she'd like to get the bus tomorrow as some of her friends got it today. It goes from the village green straight to the school and the teachers see them all off at the other end and back on again at home time so perfectly safe. She seems too small to be getting a bus Sad but she has insisted and I don't want to stop her travelling with her classmates so bus it is...

FritziGreenEyes · 13/09/2011 22:26

ollie Sequin dress would be far too glam. It's more a pub-like place we are going to meet at and I'm sure it will be jeans plus "nice tops" mostly.

Was thinking I could copy channel bloss EA and wear black Agnes and slouchy VB/LaRedoute top in charcoal plus black shoeboots. Need to look effortlessly chic but not as if I tried too hard.

fleecy red jeans are some obscure German brand. Can't find link sorry.

Bonsoir · 14/09/2011 07:12

Ooh I love this grey sheepskin gilet at Reiss... and these sequin shorts

notyummy · 14/09/2011 08:05

Icey - Ouch! Sorry to hear about the eye crisis but glad the milk resolved it.

Bonsoir - that Zara skirt looks great but am not sure it would work on a bit of a pear like me - drawing attention to the wrong bits possibly?

Roary - Good to hear from you!

Will be very Envy if any of you get your SCD tickets! I was horrified when I worked out that we are due to be at MILs for the first live show - and she has no TV Shock. Luckily she has broadband and DH reckons he can stream it on his ipad. We think we can persuade her that she wants to watch it!! (She has slightly odd and eclectic tastes - no TV as she thinks it rots the brain and prefers Shakespeare at the theatre - fair enough - but likes DVD boxed sets inc Last of the Summer Wine and Heartbeat. Go figure Hmm)

Felt quite chilly this morning at 6 15 on departure for work. Was wearing long skirt but no tights and open toed shoes and was wondering if the opaques may have to come out next week! Was pretty much dark when I got up as well, which I always find v depressing.

Loving your links Annie. I am being strong this month though.....

FritziGreenEyes · 14/09/2011 08:42

Back from school run wearing my new red skinnies today. Can you imagine that DH didn't notice at all? DD approved though, phew! Smile

ollie Saw some ponchos in a shop yesterday and thought "Oh ollie would love those!" Grin. How are the Dutch lessons going? Always meant to tell you that I once attempted to teach myself Dutch with a CD. Didn't get far and the only thing I can remember is the title of the first section "De morgenstond heeft goud in de mond". Which is almost the same in German "Morgenstund' hat Gold im Mund".

amber Any ideas on outfit for Sikh wedding yet? Happy to see that baby understands the importance of giving Mummy time to study fashion magazines Wink.

portia Did you find any treasures in your wardrobe? Got some top shopping tips for Barcelona from LTEC and ollie last year but cannot remember where I left my notes. I would definitely go to Hoss Intropia on Avinguda Diagonal. Of course there is also Narciso Rodriguez who has a store but cannot remember where that was. Have a nice time in Barcelona too deepleaf!

annie Hope you have a good week despite being without DH again and stress at work.

icey I'd say ebay some old stuff and save towards a pair of Belstaffs. I am still in love with mine!!!

bloss Hope the weather has calmed down again and class 7 are well-behaved.

pickled Job offer sounds good!

bonsoir That gilet is to die for. Although I love sequins I am not sure about the shorts but I can well imagine that you could make them work Smile.

Have booked flights and hotel for meet-up and looking forward to red's performance of high kicks Wink.

Emo76 · 14/09/2011 08:47

hello, have been remiss at reading and posting - can I use the excuse that work is super busy and so is the bog standard nitty gritty of family life?!

pickled I am going sailing on Fri (well, more like a gin palace trip on the solent) - any tips for attire I seem to remember you like boats?!

today I am wearing black JBrands, Black top, white Reiss drape jacket (mistake MISTAKE purchase - love the shape but the dry cleaning is going to be punishing) and bright pink flats and leopard scarf (which I got following that £10 ebay scarf thread - very original...!)

winter coat shopping this week.

transmission ends.

FritziGreenEyes · 14/09/2011 09:02

Great outfit emo! What kind of winter coat are you looking for?

notyummy · 14/09/2011 10:00

I have also just booked my train to London for the meet-up - first class back on the day after for some pampering - in case I am feeling 'delicate' Grin.

OllieinOrange · 14/09/2011 10:07

FritziSmile re poncho spotting! Thats funny about what Dutch you remembered - Im the same with German - all I can remember to say is take the first right and the town hall is on the left hand side (but have obviously forgotten how to write it!). Pleased you kept the red jeans and I think our proposed outfit for Fri evening is spot on (tho smiled at the thought of you walking into a pub in your sequin dress and getting a few Hmm looks from jean wearers!)

Autumn toned ladies - Ted Baker has this top which I think is nice here

And am I allowed to mention the C word (Christmas)? Saw these Muji products on a blog and thought they were v cute for small xmas presents or stocking fillers here
