Hello hello hello
I am alive, haven't been eaten by feral kangaroos or drowned in surfing accident. Missing you all but things have been so very busy, quite hard to keep up with work as we only have part time childcare and I am coming back to the UK on Sunday to wrap up work/life. Will return permanently here in late NOv.

Can someone do a whirlwind summary for me, pretty please?

I did note the discussion of the price of J.Crew. I have to say I initially thought it was an unfavourable exchange but JCrew has now opened also in Canada amid a massive scandal because all their products have been marked 25% despite the US/Cdn dollar being at parity. So no doubt this is what has happened! Looks like I will still be getting my friend to send me 'presents'.

ANyway, hope you are very well and have all had lovely and relaxing holidays. Will try to catch up properly and if not will definitely be able to do it when back in the UK as will be lonely single mother from mid-Sept till the end of Nov.

Crisis situation here. First nursery run ever here (DH used to take DS to nursery) and it is tipping it down and blowing up a storm. I bow to your superior wisdom on the coat buying front ladies. Am I right in honking the NF Parka is holy grail in this sitch? Any other suggestions (remembering I am a massive short arse).

Great to hear from you Roary - sounds like things are hectic! Hope you're enjoying exploring the environs too.

Lovely order Annie - the jeans look promising.

Thinking, not honking of course.

Fleecy, hope you are feeling well and enjoy your last few weeks of relaxation!

Roary, good to hear from you. I used to buy from J Crew quite a bit and don't remember it being that expensive. I am boycotting them.

Emo, I saw that dress, I think it would suit you.

Red, I think the NF parka is supposed to be good though probably too warm to wear now. I have it on order. Hope your DS enjoys preschool. DD1 keeps asking when she is going again. The wedding sounds like it was a blast.

Annie, I like the jeans and top. And the boots!

Bloss, hope the wind has died down.

DH and DD1 had a big argument on Sunday as she wanted to watch cartoons and he wanted to watch rugby. For once he didn't give into her, she was disgusted and told me she hates rugby. :)

Ollie, we have agreed no babysitter during the week due to cost cutting so he felt he had to say yes to the Sat afternoon, I think!

Everything if its the scarf I'm thinking of (purple?) it's beautiful and a great investment.

Ollie I came across this and thought of you Smile

Blogs are in the air, I registered one a few weeks ago, must do something with now.

I am heartily sick of the rugby and it's only been a few days. It's not so much the matches but the mindless endless punditry.

notyummy · 13/09/2011 12:13

Verity - I draw the line at the pundits! We have the World Cup series linked on Sky Plus so I can fast forward at 30X through the jabbering on at the beginning/middle. We always start watching any match slightly delayed to allow for fast forwarding through the ads too - bloody ITV. Shouldn't be allowed to cover major sporting tournaments.

Find it so exciting when someone buys the same thing Annie! Hope you like them, and you can roll down the tops a little to make a cuff shape which I think looks good with opaques and dresses!
Love that scarf Deepleaf. I may have to indulge over the next few weeks
Yes Carciofi, where is Petit?

Verity what a mouth watering few mins i've just had looking at that blog/pinboard! Yum! Thank you. Love the idea of just posting random stuff up on a page like that.
DeepLeaf that scarf is so you - I say blow the budget and get it. I also love the violet one too - here
Red I LOL at your honking - what a great word eg I am in a honking of a mood!
Roary so pelased you may be at the MU. Glad life on Oz is going well - will be nice when you are all properly settled.

Dutch lesson went well - teacher said I'd obviously been practicing - I just smiled but was thinking er no!

Hi deep leaf - I know it's not the same as LandL but have you seen this one at jigsaw which is a bit less £? jigsaw-online.com/fashion/1001458/J13592/accessories/scarves-and-tights/london-map-scarf. Not sure how the colours are for you tho?

Have not seen anything else for me since post the other week so not v avid (does that make me wise?!) but seriously considering house of colour style day ...

Oh Red ... am with you on the 'school run coat. Carciofi's right on the NF being a bit too warm for now though, but will have to succumb soon. I have the Barbour Kate (liberty print lining) and perfect for keeping dry. Do have to wear hat too...Barbour rainhat pulled down low.

Have just bought fab black hunters from R and B kids dept. Lovely.

S and B in Bath at weekend - was mostly spent kitting out DCs in AW 11.

Deep Leaf - I like the L and L - think you'll kick yourself if you don't.

Fleecy - wow - 3 weeks - it's gone so fast! For me, anyway!!! Grin

Am now looking for new boots for winter too.

Am up to my eyes in spreadsheets for house - like a kid in a sweet shop!

Hello All and thank you so much for your good wishes Smile.

I was late for the interview Blush. Didn't get the job but got some good feedback and have been offered a 'spin off' role that is contract rather than salaried. I think I'm happier with that tbh as the commute was a nightmare!

Fleecy, good to hear from you - you sound in fine form. Hope the next few weeks are good for you.

Roary, I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering where you'd got to. Looking forward to seeing you at the meet up and to hearing all about the move.

Apuski, great news on the house front. Have you started your new job yet? Which dress did you get from Great Plains? It isn't multi-coloured greens and purples, silk with a flippy bit at the neck, is it?

W&A Ladies, I took my Zara gold skirt on its first outing today - a girly lunch at 1 place Vendôme. I dressed it down with flat black suede knee-high boots, anthracite fine wool tights, an anthracite grey cashmere cardigan and an off white sleeveless Vanessa Bruno blouse, with my grey Repetto handbag. It was fab and I beg all of you who thought about it to reconsider the skirt as it is a truly W&W purchase Smile.

And thanks to Marsha, for pushing me into it!

Have you got a link to the silver Kew skirt? I'm sure you must have linked on the thread somewhere but have been a bit busy with La Rentrée to keep up with the thread...

It looks less brightly metallic than the Zara one ie you won't need to dress it down as much! Have you got it on order?
