Hi everyone. Come and join in with your lovely links to autumn/winter clothes!

Anniemac lovely, it must be so hard. I really feel for you. And I know how well your dh must be doing to keep getting this work there but it must be tough. I love the Massimo stuff I haven't ever looked at it, but I love the floral green silk blouse especially. Really gorgeous.

Completely understand about MU. Not pathetic at all, I would be the same. But you know we will probably still be at venue 2 in the evening, and of course you are very welcome to join us at any time. Even really late, if you fancy it.

Fleecy feeling emotional for you too, so close!

Red your work sounds so interesting.

Hi garlic!

notyummy · 26/09/2011 09:47

Annie - I know how hard it is holding all together on your own and missing your DH so I completely sympathise. It is not surprising at all that you feel down at times, and I can also understand how you feel about the MU. As marsha says if you can make later on people would be delighted to see you, but whatever decision is best for you.

Fleecy - So exciting!! Not long now. On Friday night my friend announced her (completely unexpected and unplanned....) third pregnancy so we had something else to toast! I think she is reconciled and looking forward to it now, but tbh it sounds like that has taken a while. She told no one to be begin with, and doesn't get much help at all with the DC from her DH, so I think she had decided to stop at 2. We all said we will help out as much as we can (although I know her DH very well as I trained him when I was in the RAF and I have mentally resolved to give him a mildly interfering 'chat' about how he needs to stop disappearing every bloody evening and weekend on his road bike and start stepping up at home.)

Thanks for the waves :) Fleecy, hope all goes well and smoothly!

rufus101 · 26/09/2011 10:53

You must feel like s ticking time bomb Fleecy!
Thsnks for the measuring up CARCIOFI I will be getting out the measuring tape this evening. Have a niggling suspicion that it may be too long.
I take my hat off to you Annie, you are coping so well. I would have had s breakdown st this stage. I'm useless on my own.
That's a shame about the floors OIO. I'm sure you can do something to make it look less obvious. Failing that, there's always a rug option!

MarshaBrady · 26/09/2011 11:06

Anniemac have pm'd! FAB if you can make it. Sorry to hear about your dd1s party btw. Was it a lot of children?

A.P.C boots have arrived. I think I love them. They are so good for everyday. Very well-made, good deep semi-gloss chestnut.

It's going to feel great throwing out old ones. Afraid they are too worn even for charity, much less to swap! Luckily got the 41 as they fit. Ok not a riding boot that is the only thing. But sometimes a bit of extra height can be good.

Trying on with skirt. Not sure if a bit boot-and-skirt. Hmmm. Would riding boots be better I wonder...

Annie, really sorry you are having a tough time and missing your DH, it must be very hard. I like the blouses, the coat is a nice colour but I am not too keen on the shape.

Good luck, Fleecy.

DLE, great shopping!

Red, yes, the poster said that the Barbour and Aigle are lovely coats but for dry, cold weather only and rain will eventually damage the coats. Being Irish, I appreciate a waterproof coat! And you walk a lot, by the sounds of it, like me.

My sil just sent me a long email wondering if DD1 and I are upset at her being at nursery, eh, no, we are both thrilled. She came out today shouting "what's up Mom, gimme a high five" in her best American accent.

OllieinOrange · 26/09/2011 13:37

Grrrr - am so, so annoyed. Just put my new silver Kew skirt in the wardrobe (been hanging on the outside so I can admire it!) and saw that the side seams have come apart - in 5 different places (3 on one side and 2 on the other)! Did a double take as saw it on both sides and thought oh there's pockets but no, just shoddy sewing! Am going to ring their CS about reserving me another one to pick up when Im over in 2 weeks. Just annoying - and not what you would expect for an 80 pound skirt.

Annie would be great to see you on the Saturday evening. I was going to say exactly what the others have said about you coping so well with DH being away. Loved browsing your MD links - forgotten they are now online. You must buy the blouse!!!
Marsha post a pic of the boots for the W&A jury perhaps?

Had a huge trying on session of dresses this morning - none really suitable for the meet up so took my grey GP dress to the tailors who doesnt speak English or much Dutch but seemed to understand what I was trying to ask for. She shook her head a lot (think she was saying why did you buy it if it doesnt fit!) and pinned it in various places - think she is going to put a couple of pleats in the front and back to try and give it more shape - we'll see tho! Have Janice to fall back on or a navy woollen shift dress with capped sleeves which is nice but a bit plain. Shoes are a whole other drama tho!

ApuskiDusky · 26/09/2011 13:40

Hello all, it always seems busy here on a Monday morning!

Annie, sorry to hear that your DH is going to away a lot again, it must be really tough. I have to say you sound amazingly together with it all and above all manage to really enjoy your DDs, which is no mean feat when you're largely managing everything solo.

Deep, I have just dug out my H&M catalogue after your autumn-friendly haul!

Fleecy, fingers crossed you're not waiting too long.

All the discussions (well, Red and Carciofi at least) on winter coats is contagious, I tried on the NF Brooklyn coat yesterday and liked it a lot (find long coats too cumbersome), but with the temperature due to go over 20 degrees this week I might wait just a little longer.

I had a lovely birthday weekend, but failed to find a present I wanted. Thought about a lovely pair of belstaff boots but they were knee high which I really don't need. So I need to keep looking!

Hello there!

Bloss, belated happy bday to your DS, it's DS1's tomorrow. Thought of you as we watched some of the Namibia match this morning Hmm.

Annie, I hope you can get along to the evening of the MU - after you've spent time with your lovely girls of course.

Ollie, happy anniversary. I know how you feel about the floor, thankfully we have oiled here so scratches aren't too noticeable.

Fleecy, glad you are keeping well. Any suspicions as to whether or not you are going to need that C section?

Marsha, I think I know what 'a bit too boot-and-skirt' means Grin. It's another one of those slim leg probs that I never have, isn't it?

Leaf, great H&M shopping, must head in there when I'm in town tomorrow.

Ollie, Shock at the Kew skirt and there I was thinking you might wear it to the MU.

Apuski, I did laugh at the thought of you 'traipsing' around Jewellers. Agree with Leaf...the elusive butterfly and all that!

Same goes for you and your coat Red. Glad DH and DS had a successful camping trip. Good luck with the work.

OllieinOrange · 26/09/2011 14:31

Great top Leaf

Whilst nosing around on the H&M website - I think I have found something for us ALL - Ladies, I give you the W&A Sorority ring here Wink

OllieinOrange · 26/09/2011 14:34

I like this jacket in blue too - here

Love the sorority ring Grin

That ruched top is nice too Deepleaf.

I am staying away from H and H as after my cheap clothes splurge at Very I really don't need any more! The last time I popped into H and M it was quite dangerous. Loving the links though.

I now need to apply my mind to what to wear to the MU. I assume I need 2 outfits for afternoon and evening? Hmm. It's not as if I don't have loads of clothes.....it's picking the right ones that is the challenge!

I am away (at my MILs) next weekend so need to pack for that first. Not looking forward to it tbh. DH has a 'difficult' relationship with his mum due to traumatic family history and I am relied on as referee/peace maker. She has also just split up from her most recent husband and is in a bit of a huff because we are popping in to see him because DD misses him (she had a great relationship with him and as far as she is concerned he is 'Grandpa'). We are not going to drive 5 hours each way on another weekend to see him separately just because she doesn't want us to leave 2 hours early to fit a visit in to him. Families , eh ?!

Afternoon all,

Have been AWOL due to manic house moving malarky and general busy-ness.
have kept popping in but never had time to post. Glad you're all well on the whole -

We were supposed to move last friday but it was delayed at the last minute until this Friday, however our original removal company couldn't make it so have been frantically been trying to find another. Just had a visit from a very upmarket operation who are phoning back later with a quote. Am dreading it!

Verity - very sorry about your aunt - I remember you posting about her before too - sounds like she will be very sadly missed.
Roary - you sound like a pro traveling between 2 countries with such ease and your life in Australia sounds fab. Hope you enjoy your time back here though.
WAN - Hope you're feeling better now. I've had some crazy headaches too any think I've taken more paracetamol during this pregnancy than I've taken in the last 3 years! Usually resolved with more fluids and rest (ha ha).

I've ordered some baxters and some leigh maternity jeans which I desperately need as my jeans no longer do up comfortably. Also ordered about 15 dresses to try on for the meet up (all of which I'll probably hate on me).

I've had no boot joy so far. Tried on what seemed like every pair in Manchester the other day only a tiny proportion of which fit around my calves (what I'd give for the golf club syndrome).

Ended up with these which DH doesn't like and I don't love so I think they are going back.

Jigsaw have a lovely pair which seem very belstaff inspired here but they would only do up in the size 6 which were too big in the foot for me. Sad

Ollie -happy anniversary. v impressed with your attitude about the floor Grin

Bloss sorry to hear that your ds's friends played up so much on his birthday. Hope he's enjoying the world cup though.

Happy birthday for tomorrow for little pickled

Fleecy you seem so calm! Really excited for you Hope everything goes well.

Loved all the coat discussion. I don't think I'd ever get cold enough to justify the aigle etc - I'm always hot - have even snowboarded in a t shirt! It is very lovely though. I tried on (and liked very much) a variety Barbours the other day - think I might need one to fit in with the country set when we move although I'll have to rough it up a bit and add some horse hair or something so they don't realise I'm an impostor (only half joking).
