Hi everyone. Come and join in with your lovely links to autumn/winter clothes!

It is a lovely colour though, Red. I just got a customs charge for the cords today, I was getting a little worried as they were posted two weeks ago. Now I can order them in blue. :)

Hope you have recovered from the party, Bloss! And happy birthday to your DS.

Fritzi, yes, unfortunately it will be. He has taken a week off in Oct but we are going to Ireland and he has decided to stay here and look for a new job! Things are shaky in his office, his role is ok (for now) but doesn't want to stay there long term and is getting very fed up with the hours. The baby looked at him with a "who the hell are you?" expression on her face this morning!

blossoming · 23/09/2011 20:24

I feel sad for DS. He spent a fair bit of time crying. The other boys were really quite wild, lucky DH went up in time or they would have trashed his bedroom. Never again. It is hard for him as he has been taught to be well behaved, the others obviously haven't.
I said that last year though after we had 24 in the leisure centre. I really mean it this time!

Nice jumper there red. Whistles looking good again. Fabulous top ants, and amazing maxmara coat reine.

DH washed up, and I cleaned the bathrooms after the boys left. Now ready for wine. And planning my Chester trip tomorrow!

Red, the NF parka is knee length on me. The Barbour parka is a little shorter.

Ambernj1 · 23/09/2011 20:25

Hi all

red a fellow specs wearer! I too have v special lenses (made in a lab in Germany no less) as I am so blind! Hope you get a replacement pair v soon!

Carciofi great to hear about your dd1 enjoying nursery, it cam be so hard if they're unhappy when you leave them! I would definitely get involved with a Westfield MU!

ants that top is gorgeous

verity so sorry to hear about your aunt, hope you're bearing up ok.

bloss hope the clearing up isn't too painful!

For those who asked, night out went surprisingly well. Only went to a local restaurant (in case I need to dash back) but I had them both asleep by half 7, and they were both still asleep when I got back at 11. I wore Jalouse, black Agnes and a dusky pink top with black polka dots from Gap. The Anglomania cherry is still intact I'm afraid.

Bought this WC dress which is very easy to wear and quite flattering. This Boden top also arrived and I really like it, may get it in the olive too.

re. Bathrooms ours is rubbish. Our house was newly decorated when we bought it (magnolia everything) and while I insisted on decorating some rooms I was 33 weeks pg when we moved in so never got around to the bathroom, as have been pg and/or in possession of v small baby ever since! Anyway this house was only ever really a stop-gap house, and I think DH would rather keep the cash we might use on a new bathroom to put towards our dream house. I am definitely a bath person, though the opportunity is a rarity these days!

Have made no progress on my Sikh wedding outfit and have just realised it is next weekend! Anyone seen any bright, stylish and relatively modest dresses also suitable for breastfeeding (I know, I don't want a lot...)

ollie just going to pay you now, though whether or not I actually make it is v heavily dependant on whether DD takes a bottle (unless we induct a very new member to W&A Wink )

blossoming · 23/09/2011 20:26

X post with you there carciofi. I hope things settle down for both of you soon. Really hope you can make it in October.

OP posts:
carciofi · 23/09/2011 20:30

Thanks Bloss, sorry your DS's little friends were so crazy and upset him. You have earned your wine!

Amber, great, maybe beginning of Nov? I only have a 3 hour window unfortunately but can get there and back with an hour in Westfield!

carciofi · 23/09/2011 20:34

oh, anyone with little girls, I got these cord jeggings for DD1 and they are lovely on her.

Ambernj1 · 23/09/2011 20:39

Aw, bloss that is so sad, but at least you can be proud he is so well behaved.

Carciofi sounds good to me - I am bad mummy and farm my eldest out for 1.5 days a week (he is only 21 mo) but based on today (both of them grumbling all day) I'd be certifiable if I didn't!

Wanted to enjoy the peace with some wine, but we have none. We do, however, have 9 bottles of champagne. Too decadent? Or have I earnt it?

carciofi · 23/09/2011 20:41

Amber, not bad at all, I would too if I could. :) Definitely open the champagne!

redllamayellowllama · 23/09/2011 20:48

Your poor DS Bloss, hope he can forget about it over the weekend.
Amber this is all becoming a little uncanny. I?m v, v short-sighted (-8, -9) with astigmatism and a squint blush. Which is largely tamed now, but emerges when drunk or tired. Wedding outfit is a tough call. Am not sure I?ve seen anything appropriate ? would the blue IO dress you had your eye on be a possibility?
Carciofi hope something else comes up that is a bit more conducive to more family time. It must be hard for the both of you. Am a bit concerned that the NF will be calf-length on me...
Another jumper contender here.
I might take myself off for a little shop tomorrow and further investigate.

blossoming · 23/09/2011 20:49

I knew it would be like this. But you can't wrap them up in cotton wool. Makes them stronger in the long term (sob!)

Champagne all the way Amber!

OP posts:
redllamayellowllama · 23/09/2011 20:50

Crack it open Amber, I sure would.

Ambernj1 · 23/09/2011 21:01

Yep red short sight and astigmatism here too, though my minus numbers are in double figures. Spooky. Actually one of/the only contender for possible wedding dress is indeed this dress which I now think I like in the plum, although the blue is probably more appropriate colour wise.

roary · 23/09/2011 21:10

Hello all, back in the uk! Trip was fine, dcs were very good and we have settled back in nicely (which may make it hard to leave again). Sigh.

verity, sad news indeed. Hope you and yours keeping well.

ny now substantially out of date but wanted to say that re: repeat pneumonia I had the same problem as a little girl, not to the same degree in that I narrowly avoided hospitalisation but I had pneumonia or bronchitis or both every winter from about age 3 to 9ish my dad was the same. We both grew out of it and no lasting effects as adults other than I have been told to be careful with chest infections as an adult as my lungs are probably scarred but I am not sure that this makes any medical sense, perhaps wan could confirm. Anyway it has all turned out fine. So hope the same is true for little yummy. Also I was at the MOD on Tuesday (as you do having just flown in from Australia) and thought of you! It is a maze.

_ants I saw that blouse in person today. It is gorgeous!!! Am tempted myself but am having colours done on Monday, with the 12 seasons thing, and will wait m

I got a fab Zara blazer v similar to the $650 one I tried on in saks (helmut Lang) but did not buy. Will link shortly.

redllamayellowllama · 23/09/2011 21:11

The blue is more wow, I think.
This would need to be seen to truly assess bf-ing potential. I tried it on for a possible bridesmaid dress and loved it.

This red one could also work

Ambernj1 · 23/09/2011 21:11

Did you hear the cork popping, enablers?

blossoming · 23/09/2011 21:16

Good to have you back roary. Can't wait to hear your report on the colours.
Well done amber!

OP posts:
roary · 23/09/2011 21:17

blazer. Hopelessly styled. Is nipped in at waist and quite lovely. My mom has arrived with this in red in her suitcase. I have the brown as you may recall and I love it.

MarshaBrady · 23/09/2011 21:19

Ha, enjoy Amber!

Anniemac thanks! Excited about seeing what they look like.

Reine I spotted that MM coat and loved it too.

WAN big change, how is it feeling after a couple of days of brunette-ness?

Roary amazing, your children must be very good on the flight now. So long isn't it.

Hello all, am feeling rather tired and have forgotten the rest of the post.

redllamayellowllama · 23/09/2011 21:20

Welcome back Roary - good to hear the journey went well and you?ve all fallen back into routines etc. I remember that JCrew dress well. It?s lovely.

Ambernj1 · 23/09/2011 21:24

Like both of those red I think a trip to Reiss is on the cards. This is also on my maybe list. Were money no object this would be the one (in the berry colour)

redllamayellowllama · 23/09/2011 21:27

Ooh, I think it best not to look at DVF. That is really, really gorgeous. Like the L K Bennett, but not convinced that the pattern makes it wedding-appropriate, iykwim.

roary · 23/09/2011 21:29

bloss meant to say I know just how you feel about being more yourself at work....and DH's reaction. Hardest part of trip for me was 2 months of nit working but not on holiday. I need my work to really feel like me. I am lucky though because my job is flexible so I get to be home a lot.

red have you read anything good? Have greatly enjoyed Sara Sheridan on the kindle, totally different though from Every Last. Like the red reiss better. And amber, while enabling, DVf is investment :)

marsha yes, very long. Would never describe as fun and have to be Iron Mummy with steely discipline but it is fine.

Ambernj1 · 23/09/2011 21:32

My thoughts too, may be a meet up option though...

redllamayellowllama · 23/09/2011 21:38

Have just finished re-reading How to be a Woman, which I have thoroughly enjoyed and Rachel Cusk?s A Life?s Work (have been feeling a little disheartened by my SAHM role ? can you tell?!), which I found to be quite annoying, actually. Am looking for something to get my teeth into; will check out Sara Sheridan. I actually had my first Book Club meeting yesterday. Very enjoyable, although one woman really wanted to dominate everything ; was quite amusing as she would barely allow herself to be introduced to me until I started joining in discussion. Then it was all, ?what do you do? Where did you study?? I felt like I was in a bad sitcom as she then started pulling me up on why she hadn?t been notified on our planning permission, what with being on the Neighbourhood Watch and all. One to watch.
