Hello All.

VB I am so sorry to hear about your aunt, sounds like she had been through so much. Must have been a dreadful shock for you. Thinking of you and sending a big hug.

NY Poor DD, sounds like she is being so brave. I really hope this winter is a better one for her and you.

Ollie I hope you have a good break this weekend. Sorry to hear the news of your DH's job, very stressful for you all. As always, its the not knowing and being in limbo that is the worst. Fingers crossed for you all.

Bonsior I love your bathroom description. We have a roll top bath that sits under our bathroom window. We are lucky that the bathroom looks out to our garden and then beyond that is a private road with mews houses. Very pretty to look at whilst wallowing. Although I love my showers too Bloss and we are lucky to have a walk-in also. Great for jumping in and out in the morning. The bathroom is the one room I'll really miss from this house. (if it ever sells Grin)

Apuski Exciting to be choosing a 40th gift. What do you fancy? I am sure we can help you compile a list!

I get the golf shoe thing Marsha. That's the sort of thing I'd fret about too!

welcome back Deepleaf and Portia, glad that you both had good breaks. Love the sound of slate and dusky pinks.

Well, I have some shocking news. After almost 20 years, I am no longer a blond. I have had my hair coloured to my natural colour, which is pretty dark. I do like it, although it will take a while to get used to. I suspect the upkeep will be so much easier though. Sort of feel like I am missing a body part though. Smile

notyummy · 23/09/2011 09:50

Personal shopping trip for 40th Apuski?

Glad you may be managing a jeans swap Annie.

Dont usually work Fridays but have just finished a breakfast meeting that started at 8am- 2 hours drive as well. They did give me a bacon sandwich though Grin.

Wearing my grey P8 dress that was one of my buys from a recommend on this thread, with mace tights and aquamarine wool Jigsaw jacket. About yo set off home for a quick run and then picking dd up from school before frantically cleaning house prior to all the visitors this evening. Hosting drinks and nibbles before girls night out and 4 people staying over. Not sure what I am wearing. Probably skinnies, heels and one of 2 new tops.

notyummy · 23/09/2011 09:52

Mace=lace.

Mace tights would be dangerous, no?

wideawakenurse · 23/09/2011 09:58

I wouldn't risk them NY

FritziGreenEyes · 23/09/2011 10:40

notyummy You are a human dynamo Grin. Have fun tonight!

wan I'm sure you look fab in brunette now Smile. Post a pic, so we can all admire you!!!

apuski Just wear your most fabulous frock for your 40th night out! Or anything you love in CdC. Maybe get a facial/mani/pedi on Sat?

ants Where is your school reunion (pub/bar/restaurant...)? Would you rather wear trousers or dress?

Our bathrooms are small but have walk-in showers. Big tiles on the floor and in showers and Bisazza mosaic tiles around the bathtub. Also plenty of surface for putting down champagne flutes Grin.

VerityBrulee · 23/09/2011 12:13

Catching up while sitting in traffic, and was trying to visualise mace thights, thought they must be a nutmeg type colour!

Thanks for all your kind thoughts, very much appreciated.

Just in case anyone is going to go for the snowboots, go up a size as they are a snug fit. I bought thermal socks in M&S kids dept to wear with them. Taking no chances with the cold this year.

Have lovely weekends everyone Smile

ReineDeSaba · 23/09/2011 12:41

hello everyone.I can't believe another week has flown by..have had another bad phase of sleep for DD2 so struggling with (both our) overtiredness!

verity I am so sorry about your Aunt..you wrote some lovely warm things about her previously on the thread and it must be a shock.

notyummy you must be so proud of your DDs grit..it will get her through anything and everything, but very hard as a parent to see her go through it.on a lighter note I love the sound of your terrifying tights!

olllie DD1 and I watch the great british bake off together on catch up as we both love it,though I do get tempted to sneakily watch it when it is first aired.DD1 cried when 'lovely Rob' got the boot, bless.

I have been awful about looking at everyones links as short on time but I am in love with this iwish!

Glad the Barcelona trips went well..a favourite city for me,too.

I haven't been to a school renunion for over 20 years..nerveracking but sounds like you nailed it outfitwise fritzi and sure ants will too.

Yay! for 2 weeks till meet up,though very sorry to hear every won't be there..was hoping you'd twist everyone's arm to get their dance on.

Oh and apuski 40..that's all kinds of crazy..I still think you are a masquerading 29 year old!(will have to pump you for beauty secrets at MU)

AntPants1 · 23/09/2011 13:15

I have just bought the most gorgeous top from whistles.

I cant link as is not on ASOS, HoF of John Lewis websites yet. It's the Adele double leopard. Looked great with my indigo skinnies. May wear to meet up!

Ants, gorgeous blouse and Reine, that coat is fab, I have been looking at it for a while.

Apuski, hope you have a very happy birthday. I keep telling DH he needs to remember two words next February, Mulberry Bayswater.

I am just eating a reuben sandwich from an American sandwich bar and it is delicious, I am going to have to avoid passing by.

Rufus, the Aigle is approx 95cm long. I have listed my old Gap down coat so I hope the company I ordered from don't let me down and deliver the NF soon. The weather is lovely here today so it's not like I'll need it this weekend but they haven't debited the money and it is burning a hole in my pocket!

I have gone off the conker coloured bags in Mulberry, I read that they aren't hard wearing. I feel a slight sense of relief.

Yes, poor dh is very fed up, he was working last weekend and will be working this one too, his project ends mid October so it is going to be crazy for him until then. The bad news for me is that the 8th is the weekend before his deadline so I don't think I will be able to come to the meet up as he will no doubt be in the office. Sorry to mess you around Ollie and I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Have fun tonight NY. Grey and aquamarine sounds like a good combination.

Red, thanks. DD1 seems to really have enjoyed this week. It is a lovely school, I hope she gets a place in reception. The cut-off distance this year was 404 metres! We are less than 300 metres away so she should get in.

I hate our bathroom, it is always freezing and it is carpeted, which is ridiculous. If we owned the house I would rip it out. I rarely have baths either, Bloss, much prefer to jump in and out of the shower.

redllamayellowllama · 23/09/2011 14:42

Ooh Ant that top is gorgeous.

Our bathroom is as it was when the house was built in the 30's... We're actually going to try and keep the tiles as they're metro-style and rather lovely. I cannot wait to have a shower once more - improvising with a hand-held shower attachment for now and it is no fun. Walk-in with a big shower-head is the plan, but is only being done at the very end of the extension being completed.

You'll have no worries with that distance Carciofi. Sorry to hear you won't make the MU, was really looking forward to meeting you.

WAN your hair sounds fab, but imagine that will take some getting used to!

I've got to get me some mace tights; they sound like something a 21st century urban wonder woman might wear.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend Apuski.

Did you have fun last night Amber?

One of those days here - DS irreparably broke my glasses this morning which have very specialist lenses in them and will be £££ to replace, followed by a puncture in the P&T in the middle of nowhere. Annoying.

DH and DS are off on camping trip with a load of DH's mates and their first-borns for the weekend. DS has been rising at 5.30 so will enjoy the lie-ins.

carciofi · 23/09/2011 14:47

Red, grrr about your glasses.

If his project goes well, I may turn up as I'd love to meet you all but don't want to mess up the plans.

Wan, I am sure your hair is gorgeous. Can we see a photo?

Keep thinking about your new top, Ants, it is much nicer than the LK Bennett top that I never got around to ordering.

Amber, yes, hope you had a good night!

Everything, glad you had a good holiday.

FritziGreenEyes · 23/09/2011 14:53

carciofi We'll miss you at the meet up! Will your DH have to keep up the crazy working hours until his deadline mid-Oct? Maybe you can have a few quiet days afterwards?

red Love the idea of a Dad - firstborn camping weekend! Enjoy the weekend with your little girl Smile

reine That red MM coat is fabulous Hope you get some rest over the weekend.

ants Please bring the double leopard to the meet up! It's lovely Smile

AntPants1 · 23/09/2011 16:28

carciofi I have not given up hope of you making the meet up......

carciofi · 23/09/2011 16:34

I'll definitely go there if dh isn't in a panic. Otherwise Westfield?

blossoming · 23/09/2011 17:08

Hi all. It is DS's b'day party. DH looks like he's been beaten up. He came in and said: they're out of control! I am cooking sausage and chips. Seems a long time till 6pm!
Back later. Want to check out links.

bloss Get the wine glasses ready and count down till six!

Bonsoir · 23/09/2011 18:35

Chic new take on the breton by Petit Bateau and 10 Corso Como, in a limited edition.

blossoming · 23/09/2011 19:54

Looking through bonsoir's Petit Bateau link, this coat is like the Burberry one red.

OP posts:
redllamayellowllama · 23/09/2011 20:03

That?s an excellent spot Bloss, thank you. Funnily enough, I?d looked at the kids stuff last week to see if I could get away with their biggest size and didn?t even think to look at the womenswear. How are you feeling after the party?!
I?m doing a spot of coat-dithering actually; still persuading myself to commit to getting the NF Parka. Am too short for the Aigle which will reach below my knees Blush.

redllamayellowllama · 23/09/2011 20:07

Is this green jumper a little over-priced perhaps? I have my bottom half sorted (with the possible purchase of the Carciofi-recommended Current/Elliott cords) but am looking for some daytime jumpers/tops.
