Hi everyone. Come and join in with your lovely links to autumn/winter clothes!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 20/09/2011 20:40

Blimey that coat does look warm.

wideawakenurse · 20/09/2011 20:40

Good luck Ollie.

carciofi · 20/09/2011 20:47

Ollie, I am watching it. Some terrible puns!

My birthday is 14/02, which is equally rubbish as we never make a reservation in time and there are set menus with lovehearts all over them.

I have asked whether it the coat is waterproof but no reply.

Wan, I'd whack him with the pan! Unless it were Le Creuset. Though maybe even then.

I like the shirt, Bloss. Your dh is generous. Mine is too, just not imaginative, which is why I buy my presents for myself and charge them to him.

blossoming · 20/09/2011 20:53

He is isn't he carciofi? Although, I have a huge credit card bill to pay off when I get my paychecks (will take a while), because I have been buying all my own stuff for work, including books etc. I suppose I never show him anything I like for fear of him seeing how much I am capable of spending!

wideawake, I'd say you are half way there!

I think the Aigle coat is the business. I like the detail; the belt would stop you looking too michelin man; the hood is detachable as is the fur. They've really thought it out I think.

ollie, if it is smart, I may just as well bring Davina for tea. With some edgy heels (in my bag!) Will paypal you now.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 20/09/2011 21:03

Yes great work Ollie, am going to paypal too. So pleased re tables, it's nice in there.

I envisage lots of park visits in winter with ds2, that coat could make it more enjoyable. Would have to get one that warm for him so he could be snuggly too.

carciofi · 20/09/2011 21:04

I am selective in what I show him too. He is funny though, he can spot J Brands, Mulberry, LV etc and tells me that a colleague in work has a red coat I'd love, etc.

You have reminded me that my school was so cold I used to get chilblains. Do you remember, Portia? I think it has been done up since our day!

carciofi · 20/09/2011 21:04

Too many etc.
The North Face do kids parkas, Marsha!

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2011 21:08

Thanks Carciofi! I am almost looking forward to it. The cold, chilly winter. But with warm toasty coats.

(although I probably wouldn't say the same thing in March. Better if it is a good, but not too long winter)

carciofi · 20/09/2011 21:19

I like winter. I'm not a sun worshipper ... it just brings out my freckles. :)

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/09/2011 21:33

Evening.

So have been trying on my barbour and working out which scarf to wear for the arctic winter ahead.

Oh and I got the black barbour but tend to disregard colour stuff - after all Grace Kelly looked pretty good in black as a pale blonde [I am so delusional] but will break it up with crumpet leopard scarf in cream and blue Smile

Wonderful in-laws are having children for 2 nights in October so DH and I can go away - so excited!

We're going to a 40th party on Sat night and am deliberating as to what to wear - its pretty casual I think so possible jeans and CdeC silk shirt with heels - the mn staple party outfit I do believe.

Oh and can heartily recommend these pretty thermals. I am going to be all about the thermals and blouses this winter.

Ollie - I love the bake-off and want Janet to win. Am finally getting to grips with aga and doing a lot of baking but DH and eldest like to 'judge' the results in manner of Mary Berry. Also going on aga course soon to learn some good shortcuts hopefully.

OllieinOrange · 20/09/2011 21:34

Result! DH said to get the Aigle as a Christmas present! He obviously has been taking lessons from Mr Bloss. (Am not going to tell him about the whopping 20 pounds P&P over here tho!). Just hope they can deliver them all and we dont get those horrible "sorry but we are unable to fulfill your order" type letters!

WAN show DH the DM article about the cold winter ahead?

carciofi I was really giggling at the puns. My friend once met them and said they were so lovely in real life.
Pickled the back of my Mint Velvet top is jersey - v comfortable to wear.

Wanted to say that my friend with whom I was shopping with on Saturday brought The White Company hammered silk blouse and it looked so, so nice on her. here

Sold out online but lots in store.

Ambernj1 · 20/09/2011 21:34

I love winter too - boots, coats and scarves, yippee! And to be fair the less of my flesh on show the better. Does make bf a chore though...

My DH is v generous on special occasions, but doesn't really understand my constant need to browse. He shops twice a year for himself, goes into one shop, grabs everything he needs and out asap. I on the other hand can trawl round all day and come home empty handed (though usually don't!)

Amazingly kids were both in bed asleep by 8 and DH out so I am sitting drinking flat champagne left over from our anniversary and watching old episodes of Frasier. Another glamourous night in! Am actually going out on Thursday, what to wear!?

OllieinOrange · 20/09/2011 21:38

Big Janet fan here too MrsCB. Like Holly too. Just cant seem to warm to MaryAnn (sp?) even tho she is obviously a v talented cook. Never used an aga but have fond memories of one at a friends house when I was growing up - their kitchen was always so warm and welcoming.

redllamayellowllama · 20/09/2011 21:39

I love winter too ? summer sees me pink-cheeked and flummoxed.
Ollie, what have you started??!! I?ve just shown DH the Aigle to garner his opinion and he did the whole, ?do you really need another coat? number. So we played what turned out to be rather a fun game, where we pulled out our coats and made some decisions. Luckily for me, DH is something of a coat fetishist. So for every one of mine, there were two of his and all are relatively upmarket; his Reiss, Burberry, Barbour etc to my H&M (for some reason I?ve never invested in a decent coat ? the last two years I?ve worn his huge parka when it gets really cold ? I blame sling-wearing and being pregnant through winters).
So, now, he is off on the Ipad, researching coats on my behalf, as he feels so badly that I?ve been neglected in this department. This is wonderful.
I have grave concerns about how waterproof the Aigle is. I love it, but wonder if it truly is practical. Toss up between that and the NF parka I think.
Bloss, how lovely is your DH?
My birthday is in early January, which is rubbish as everyone is skint and reluctant to go out. I think I should be like the Queen and have a second in July.

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2011 21:40

Ok am going to get something really warm for winter. Exciting! Love that lots like winter, yes to freckles Carciofi me too.

Some things in black work really well, a Barbour sounds like it is one of them. Which one did you get MrsCB?

Well done Ollie!

Amber, wear something new and/or you love.

A party on Saturday too, but not in London. So will involve trains, unless we stay over somewhere. (to be able to have the bubbly on offer)

redllamayellowllama · 20/09/2011 21:46

Wow, we need an Aigle flash-mob I think? Go Mr Ollie too.
Amber I would go for a dress ? I always relish wearing them if going out in the evening when bf-ing, safe in the knowledge I won?t have to whip one out.

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/09/2011 21:48

This one

And of course I am a country mouse so barbour works well for me Smile

Ollie - is Hollie the earnest super-mum one?

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2011 21:51

Might have to Red. Dh has agreed it would be most sensible to get something extremely warm for Berlin at Christmas.

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2011 21:53

Nice, MrsCB. Vair nice and warm

OllieinOrange · 20/09/2011 21:55

Seen this on another website:

Feedback suggests that Aigle Clothing is not generously sized and many customers have gone up a size

Hmm

And P&P via the Aigleboots website is 37 pounds!!! Bugger!

notyummy · 20/09/2011 21:59

£37 for PP?!

AntPants1 · 20/09/2011 22:00

Hello all

Have ordered black and tan Marta Jonsson shoes. They had sold out on Debenhams website in a 39 but managed to find them on Marisota of all places. Also got 20% off as new customer. Result.

And these...

Anyway was strong and just got black and tan t bars!!!

Also love the great british bake. Funnily enough it's Holly I can not warm to. Her cooking is just so perfect whilst I rather like the fact that Marianne will experiment.

AntPants1 · 20/09/2011 22:01

Oh and love aigle. Lucky bloss for having such a generous DH. WAN good luck with your campaign!!!!

Ambernj1 · 20/09/2011 22:11

Might crack out the virgin Anglomania I have had lurking in my wardrobe since I was pg. red you are so right about wearing something bf-incompatible, so so bored of low necklines/layering with bloody vests!

Feeling left out of the Aigle flash mob, but have a Zara down coat from last year and then bought a down jacket in Uniqlo last week so no hope of selling that to DH! Really do need a 'smart' coat though, have a wealth of practical coats but nothing really lovely.

carciofi · 20/09/2011 22:20

Ants, lovely shoes.

Ollie, yes, I saw that mentioned too, meant to say. I liked time to log off your roulades!

I love agas, we have one. Very handy for drying clothes.

MrsCB, you are definitely a Grace Kelly, not mousie at all.

Good man, MrRed. Tip the balance.

I am leaning toward the NF parka again as if the Aigle were waterproof, surely they would have mentioned it!
