Hi everyone. Come and join in with your lovely links to autumn/winter clothes!

OP posts:
OllieinOrange · 20/09/2011 14:54

Right - you have sold me on the ''ditch the black, buy the blue' coat thing. Thank you. Hope the waiting list isn't too long for the Aigle one - the DM has an article saying snow will be here in October!

But now I also have another dilema! Cycled past a show shop today and saw a pair of Ash Jalouse in the window - screeched to a halt and ran in. They only have one pair left in the grey in a 41 which are too big but fine with insoles (well, 2 insoles in my left foot tbh). Have them on hold untll tomorrow - they are last years stock and priced at around 120 pounds. Should I buy even tho they are a tad big but ok with insoles?

Marsha those TB boots are lovely.
Annie agree with Marsha re school trip attire. I've just been asked to help drive DS1s class to the library next week - limited opportunity for stylish dressing I think!

Ollie mine are too big and have insoles too - are still very comfortable and have survived many days walking. I think they're fab and do get a lot of wear from them.

carciofi · 20/09/2011 15:09

They have them in a size 40 here, Ollie, for only £25 more.

I have emailed Aigle for the coat measurements, I am torn between the Aigle coat and the NF parka now.

redllamayellowllama · 20/09/2011 15:19

I am a little bit obsessed with the Cuckmere too now - it's the belt that's swinging it for me. Can't decide between army and navy for colours. Any thoughts?

redllamayellowllama · 20/09/2011 15:21

I prefer the army shade, but am worried that it will a. Wash me out (a colour I love, but not sure if it loves me) and b. Get dirty real quick. Navy more practical and goes with more?

wideawakenurse · 20/09/2011 15:22

My Jalouse are still slightly big even though I sized down, maybe they are just a wider fitting boot?

I would say go for it, you can add an extra layer on your feet, socks over tights etc, if you think they are too big.

I am now in love with the Aigle too now.

OllieinOrange · 20/09/2011 15:23

Ha Carciofi I just read your post as "Ash here for 25 pounds"! I gasped and then read the post properly!
Annoying as I found a website that obviously had them reduced to 45 pounds at one point! V tempted to pay the extra and get them in a 40 so thanks for the link.

Did you ask Aigle how long the coat was? Thats what I was about to do. Saw a long navy one in Esprit today which was nicer on than it looks online - and it sits below the knee. Aigle one would be better quality I think and I think I like the detail better such as they leather zippy bits. Be interested to hear what they say?

OllieinOrange · 20/09/2011 15:26

Fritzi Office has some dark grey wedged suede boots if you are still looking for some? here

OllieinOrange · 20/09/2011 15:34

Esprit coat is on the English Esprit website - 4th row down under coats. Looks less shiney and thicker in RL. Lovely and long.

Im sold on the Aigle tho!

wideawakenurse · 20/09/2011 15:38

I really like the navy red.

In fact, here is my current A/W wishlist:

The Aigle

Kew Boots

Crumpet Scarf

Shoe boots

wideawakenurse · 20/09/2011 15:40

Ohh, I like those wedges too ollie.

Can you tell I am bored?!

OllieinOrange · 20/09/2011 15:45

Me too WAN - boys colouring Toy Story shrinky dinks and wont let do any! Hope you are already feeling the benefits of some R&R.

Random link for you then - I saw and liked these shoes in John Lewis here

OllieinOrange · 20/09/2011 15:46

Sorry - that should read 'wont let me do any'!

wideawakenurse · 20/09/2011 15:56

Are you having to control your inner artist?! DS now likes colouring books, and I so want to colour them in neatly, whereas he just grabs a crayon and drags it across the page, then moves to the next one. Grin

Those snakeskin shoes are really nice - Funnily enough I will need some new shoes for meet-up/wedding outfit that I still have not decided upon.

Just had an annoying phone call from EA - urging us to consider every offer we get seriously. Er, we haven't had any offers yet..! They have put some new pictures on right move now too.

carciofi · 20/09/2011 15:59

Sorry Ollie, £25 would have been nice. They are great boots, definitely buy! Yes, I asked the length, but no reply yet. The Esprit coat looks good but I also prefer the Aigle or NF.

Red, I prefer the navy.

OllieinOrange · 20/09/2011 16:06

MEET UP UPDATE

I have PM'd those of you who have confirmed you can attend (its time to cough up some dosh!)
Those of you who are still a ?, there is no rush, we can still amend the booking up until a couple of days before.

I can almost taste the cupcakes!

wideawakenurse · 20/09/2011 16:20

Ollie I just looked at how your new skirt has been styled on the Kew website. I would say that based on that picture alone, you must get the Jalouse as that picture is great.

Ambernj1 · 20/09/2011 18:17

Back from cinema with DD, we saw I don't know how she does it, pleasant enough couple of hours of fluff! Also did a bit of boring shopping (duvet for DS) and less boring browsing. Saw this top which I thought was cute, this top which I loved but they only had a 14 and this jumper which I will probably buy.

ollie I love my Jalouse, very useful, as others have said they do come up big, insoles should sort it. I recently bought these insoles for my biker boots which are towelling, machine washable and very comfy!

Carciofi DH has been informed he needs to be looking at hush come Xmas/birthday (6 days before Xmas, aren't I lucky)

red love the coat, both colours are nice but it would be navy for me.

wideawakenurse · 20/09/2011 18:41

I'm three days before xmas amber, although I suspect the only catalogue DH will be browsing at this point is something "pots and pans" related. Grin.

Yes, I love cooking 'darling' (gritted teeth) but I'd love a Anya Hindmarch Gracie much more!

redllamayellowllama · 20/09/2011 19:18

Has anyone worked out if the Aigle is waterproof? My fingers are hovering over the buy button after all hopes of wearing a smart Reiss coat were dashed by the realities of the last week (highlight: Walking up and down the hill to nursery...).
Speaking of which, DS had his first two full days yesterday and today and absolutely loved it ? such a wonderful nursery. So much so, that we have put DD?s name down for 3 days from September next year (I realise it?s a year away, but y?know, I like to be prepared), so I have a getting back to work deadline now.
Amber I find myself worryingly drawn to that film. Very much like all of the tops, particularly the leopard print, it?s a lovely shade of blue.
I like your wishlist WAN - I have some near-identical shoe boots (they?ve got a bit more brogue-ish detailing to them) that I?ve barely worn as I can never settle on what to wear them with. Talk me through your styling thoughts if you don?t mind.

blossoming · 20/09/2011 20:29

I have been dying to see the link to the Aigle coat all day, and now I've seen it, I love it too! So does Dh. He just said, do you want it for your birthday?! (Has he forgotten he has bought me the Annina? And he has bought it, because I bought it and he has hidden hit and given me the money for it!). Lovely lovely DH.
Have been a bit stroppy with him today. No more!
Dd is better, thank you all. Just a bad cold really. I took her to the childminder's yesterday where she lasted just 45 mins before she called my mother to take her. She'll be going back tomorrow though.
DS is all about the Welsh rugby team right now verity, although when he writes up is fantasy teams, 'Johnny Sexton' still gets a game although DS is always the captain! Had no luck finding plastic rugby players. Will just get a photo, and lots of sweets round the sides or something! They are having a rugby party and poor DH has been roped in to play. DS was on fire tonight in training, scoring 3 tries. This is a major breakthrough. He spent the whole of last year asking the ref what the score was and dancing on the perimeter. I am so proud of him.
S&B nothing here sadly. I'm all about the work clothes. Incredulous that notyummy is still bare legged. Today I had opaques and knee hight boots on with Davina. Schools are notoriously draughty, and I was on bus duty with the craghopper coat on (cringe). Haven't got a weekend list yet, although I do like the look of the White Co long shirt to wear round the house Here. Or is too frumpy for words? Tonight I'm wearing the zebra wool dress from Laura Ashley last year. I think I need some RL shopping!

wideawakenurse · 20/09/2011 20:35

Hmmm, tried to broach the Aigle subject with DH by first "hamming up" the predicted weather for this coming weather. Tried to link this with the idea of wearing a duck down duvet coat to him.

Nothing. Need to rethink whole strategy.

red I had a very similar pair the other year from New Look. Cheap as chips, but wore out very quickly.

I wore them with the following:

Denim mini, opaques, oversized jumper ( jumper to dress down the shoes)
Jumper dresses
Black denim calf length pencil skirt (ruined in the wash by DH) with blouses.

I sort of see them as similar use as the Jalouse really.

OllieinOrange · 20/09/2011 20:39

Is anyone watching The Great British Bake Off??? Mel and sue are on fire!!!! (not literally - they are v funny!)

About to show DH the Aigle coat, you may well hear his groan all the way from Holland when he tots up the number of coats currently hanging in the hallway!

wideawakenurse · 20/09/2011 20:39

I just served him chilli and lemon chicken, roasted peppers and rice. Even though I couldn't face any dinner myself. Plus a cold beer.

Now how many Aigle points is that worth? Grin
