Lipstick. And once you've put it on KEEP it on - none of these lines round your lips with the middle worn off.

redredpants · 12/12/2005 16:37

Don't say "Cool, man"
or wiked, don't use textese.

Anchovy · 12/12/2005 16:48

I really recommend getting your teeth bleached - it literally makes you look about 10 years younger.

Threading is where it is at for eyebrows: v good drop in threading bar at Fenwicks - £15 and makes you look completely re-styled. Satisyingly, eye-wateringly painful as well.

TheFish · 12/12/2005 19:47

buy anythign that makes your dh say" hmm thast a bit trendy isnt it"

Don't buy elasticated waisted anything!
Buy Elle, and Glamour mag.
Get hair cut and coloured, don't let grey show through.
Don't wear dark lipstick, and don't wear pale pink ones either.
Don't buy clothes that are too cheap, I have a lower limit, I never drop below, (sshhhhhh #40)

handlemecarefully · 13/12/2005 21:12

Anchovy - teeth bleaching doesn't have any deleterious effects on the teeth then? (I'm quite interested if not)

handlemecarefully · 13/12/2005 21:14

I don't know redredpants - I bought some el cheapo jeans at £25 and look quite foxy in them actually...

Anchovy · 13/12/2005 22:51

I don't think so. I did the medium cheapie version - trays sorted by the dentist, which you wear at night (mmmmm, attractive). Was so impressed by the possibilities that I'm aiming to go for the full on laser thing. Oh bugger it, even if its bad for your teeth, it'll make you look younger. That must be a fair trade-off for falsies in later years!

redredpants · 13/12/2005 23:23

REally? 25 quids.
If I don't spend as much as I do, it will only go on rubbish, like takeaways, then I will just get fatter!
Getting hair done thurs, might go a little blonde, might brighten me up!
I don't think I could look foxy in jeans for 25 pounds, need the architecture of more exensive 7's.

redredpants - I'm probably deluded!

Thanks Anchovy - I'm tempted to follow this up

motheroftwoboys · 14/12/2005 14:46

I'm VERY nearly 49 (next week) so approaching 50. Not in too bad a shape for such antiquity. I work with teenagers - that really helps. My tips -
don't smoke.
don't get too fat - or too thin.
I do buy less clothes and spend more.
Wear nice underwear.
Use gallons of body lotion.
Keep all the hairy bigs shaved and/or waxed.
Exfoliate , moisturise. Eye cream
Less make up - look more natural, or more make up to look natural lol
take off make up every night, properly.
Look after your nails. Have manicures and pedicures (which I could afford more often)
Would love to do the personal shopper thing, thought I was too old. Might investigate. Remember knocking at Fish and End's shop door but was not let in. Crept away quietly to put my cardigan on and do my knitting.

Really? I used to wear 501 red tab when I were a lass!

Will look out for those Beety.

Tanzie · 14/12/2005 22:38

Oh no! I have just bought a fleece and a pair of trainers and am letting the grey come through in my hair in the hope that the slummy mummies at the school gate will speak to me.

Is this not right then?

redredpants · 14/12/2005 23:10

arf larf
don't forget to frizz up your hair, tie it up in a rubber band, and squint your eyes, to show off crow's feet at their best.

harpsiheraldangelssing · 14/12/2005 23:15

from whence may one purchse a pair of sevens
and do they come in big bum sizes, pls?

wewishyouaClaryChristmas · 15/12/2005 08:55

Gingerbear, are bootlegs really out? My sister told me this....
I can?t wear skinny jeans tho.
Trinny and Suze say bootleg/wide leg is flattering cut.
Agree re black trousers tho, trying to eliminate black from my wardrobe, not flattering (tho apparently BACK!)

Are we really not allowed to wear jogging trousers and fleece to eg nip to Asda at 9pm?

OOOh ggg, that?s good about eyebrows. Had mine done the other week and they look fab!

MI love the idea of your size 3 feet and bosoms making you topple over!

theshrimp · 15/12/2005 09:24

Do Seven jeans cover your love handles/?
Have thin legs so skinny jeans would look ok but all the jeans I have tried on are cut far to low and muffin top spills over and looks vile.
Any ideas anyone?

northerner · 15/12/2005 09:46

Seven jeans are low rise, so may not cover love handles.
Buy from major dept stores.

acnebride · 15/12/2005 09:54

flirt with women -
spread the love

when in a bar and bringing the average age up by 20 years just think 'i give a better BJ than any of you'
