Time for a new thread.....

OP posts:
redllamayellowllama · 07/07/2011 18:19

Am coming back from my little hiatus with lots to say to you all and lots to tell, but can't hold back for the time it will take me to write a lengthy post. WAN, I bought that very Whistles dress today! Also bought a gorgeous red snakeskin belt to wear with it. I LOVE it. Right, off to compose myself and post at length

blossoming · 07/07/2011 18:26

wan, carciofi, anyone else able to do 28th, DH goes to work for 2pm, so I am free from then. PM me your suggestions.

redllamayellowllama · 07/07/2011 18:44

Am more composed.

Have been taken up with moving / 'The' wedding / the arrival of my Mum / our leaving party / school reunion, hence the lack of posting. Everyone out this evening, so am taking a few breaths and gazing at all the lovely links.

Have managed to get a few buys in the interim. Went a bit mad in Whistles today with the afore-mentioned dress and belt (but in red) combo. Also bought this top, which looks much better untucked. I also had fun in the Gap sale and bought this in purple which is a shade I've never worn and looks fab and this skirt in blue. I toyed with the yellow too, but a no-no with these milky-white legs. Would recommend as an easy summer skirt.

Roary I am basically green with envy. Sounds like an amazing trip.

Carciofi particularly love the Whistles top. Glad to hear you've found a lovely babysitter and are getting a bit of (relative) 'me'-time (I hate that phrase but you know what I mean).

Ollie you've opened my eyes to the world of Great Plains. Look forward to dress feedback Bloss.
Pickled sorry to hear about the job, but am also intrigued by your new venture. Need a South-West outpost? Wink

Reine love the blouse ? your clothes are gorgeous; such beautiful prints.
Clevery sounds like a fab weekend away, glad you enjoyed yourself

We are moving on the 28th, which I reckon rules me out for a meet-up. Very annoying as I was so looking forward to meeting some of you. A meet-up in Europe though...

Big wave to everyone else, sorry if I?ve missed important bits.

wideawakenurse · 07/07/2011 18:52

Ohh, red you are really making that dress sound great with the addition of a red belt. Your other links just go to the main menu I'm afraid.

bloss that's fine for me, I'll take DS into London a little earlier and then make my way. Will get my thinking cap on. I suspect we will be influenced by the weather.

Saw this today too, really lovely

redllamayellowllama · 07/07/2011 19:27

Hhhm, annoying, this is the top and this is the belt, but in bright red. I am now taking to ebay to recoup on my splurge. Stripy Janice has been given her marching orders.

notyummy · 07/07/2011 19:34

Some great bargains there red! Love that Gap skirt.

Thanks for the compliment ladies - pics are v blurry I know.

PORTIA4 · 07/07/2011 19:55

Evening all, I have been lurking somewhat, as I am so busy at work.
Ollie love that bird dress.
Carciofi glad to see that you've gat a babysitter, thats a great blouse.
Emo You have such a cool social lifeSmile
NY Fab photos!
Pickled sorry job didn't work outSad but you seem to have something up your sleeve!
Red Great shopping.
Your London meet up seemed so far away when it was first mentioned, I can't believe that it's almost upon us!
Sign me up for the W&A European tour - if I ever get out of work!
I'm wearing the Crew Houlialikes today, I haven't got as much wear out of them as I thought I would, (maybe 'cause I fogot about them!) but they are very comfy.
My Boden sale order arrived a couple of days ago, but I keep forgetting to take it home from work! Hopefully tonight it will accompany me!

AntPants1 · 07/07/2011 21:18

bloss I can do the 28 th from 2 pm. Will have DD with me I think.

WAN and carciofi am loving the whistles links. I popped into whistles in richmond on sat. They are just starting to get their new stuff in and it looks lovely.

blossoming · 07/07/2011 21:32

That's great ant. I was about to pm you my DH's change of plan! I will have DS, 6 (going on 60) and DD, 20 months. Caught her trying to kiss DS's best friend who came to play this afternoon. Bless. Her mother's daughter!

OllieinOrange · 07/07/2011 22:21

Popping in to say au revoir mes amis. All packed, France here we come!
Weather forecast for the next few days isn't great so I threw in a couple of jumpers Sad. We are stopping overnight in Rouen which helps break the journey up but DH says traffic forecast for the next couple of days is not good. Have got 4 new dvds for the kids to watch, the '50 things to do on a journey' card set from Usborne, 2 new audio cds, activity books and have made up 2 Lightening McQueen tins of snacks, stickers, hotwheels and pens etc for DSs to open if things get fraught!

Failed miserabley in my attempt not to take a lot. Remind me next year Bloss to hire you as my holiday capsule wardrobe consultant! Also annoyed with myself as I haven't shredded as much as I should of recently and it shows on my tummy and hips.

NY you looked great in the pics - hair looked fab - did you BBH?!
RLYL - how busy have you been?! Hope the countdown to the move goes ok. Excellent Whistles buys.
WAN I think that Coast dress would be great on you.

Back in a couple of weeks but no doubt will be popping in to say bonjour! Happy shopping everyone.

OP posts:
blossoming · 07/07/2011 22:36

Have a great time ollie. We'll miss you!

pickledsiblings · 07/07/2011 22:42

PORTIA, I'm sorry about your difficult work situation. I hope you are making some headway and that the DC aren't too put out.

Red, great shopping! I can't believe you're moving in a few weeks. That has come around sooo quickly. Are you 'mentally' ready? Am I right in thinking that you'll have all of August to settle in before DH has to start work?

Wan, a Blackberry, that's nice, I think . How funny that you saw Red's dress. I love the aubergine colour of the coast dress, it will look lovely on you I'm sure.

NY, agree with Bloss aout your shredded to perfection arms. I must get some dumbells (in a nice pastel shade, of course).

There has been much 'computer' action here today in preparation for my new job. It is probably more correct to refer to it as a hobby atm. Suffice to say, it has put a spring in my step Wink. DH is away tonight so I am watching 'Kate in Canada'. Can you get it in Holland Ollie?

pickledsiblings · 07/07/2011 22:44

x post Ollie. I guess you won't be watching Kate then. Have a fab holiday with George and the boys.

petitdonkey · 07/07/2011 23:47

Reine - I was a primary school teacher but I can't imagine going back to it but I can't imagine what else to do...

ABO your comment re: DoC's hair makes me think that my nagging doubt that mine is too long may be correct.... Loved Fearne's in the DM link, maybe I should bite the bullet??

Thought that Holly Willoughby looked fab in those photos but I think that slebs need to move on from the hooker shoes which IMHO took her outfit from lovely to trashy. There was a girl at the concert last night in super high platform shoes who looked so ridiculous as she was unable to walk in them.

Can't remember who made the first link to the Great Plains dress but it is really lovely and I may have to jump on that oh so stylish bandwagon!!

Emo - your street party sounds fab!!

I could potentially do the 28th but I would have three children which may be a bit much. I have visions of us ladies sitting in a bar whilst pickled's DD sits outside babysitting ten children Grin

blossoming · 08/07/2011 06:23

petit, Fearne's hair was gorgeous! Having my hair cut did wonders for me. And I completely agree with you re shoes.

Ambernj1 · 08/07/2011 07:37

Hello all,

baby Isabelle Rose arrived at 1.56am this morning, weighing in at 8lbs 4oz. Will catch up with links when I am a bit more with it! Very much looking forward to getting back into my clothes and burning ebaying all the IO maternity!

notyummy · 08/07/2011 07:45

Ooooohhh Amber congratulations! What lovely news! That is the same name as my dd- and the same middle name as me. Great weight too. Hope it all went well and am thinking of you.

AntPants1 · 08/07/2011 07:47

Wow. Congratulations Amber. What a beautiful name. Rose is my DD's middle name. I love it. Enjoy those first few milky cuddly days!!!

Emo76 · 08/07/2011 07:58

oh Amber congratulations - I have an Isabelle too - lovely lovely name.

ollie have a fab hol
portia hope work gets better
petit I am SO with you on those hooker shoes - Kurt Geiger seems to sell little else and I think they are hideous
pickled I am glad you reclaimed the remote!

I think a euro W&A trip is a seriously good idea

Today I have Jbrand majors and the Warehouse navy swallow print blouse on - "smart casual" at work. Just need to get through the day and head off a troublesome colleague. I went out with some "bad influences" last night for "a quick drink" and ended up at a crazy Chinese restaurant/bar but fortunately they didn't serve us any alcohol with dinner (what sort of state were we in?!) so things could be much worse. BRING ON THE WEEKEND!

redllamayellowllama · 08/07/2011 08:27

Congratulations Amber, beautiful name. Hope you're recovering well.

Love the sound of your outfit Emo; your social life is quite dizzying you know!

Pickled we do have August to settle in together, which is brilliant. Am nowhere near mentally ready. Moving not aided by the meeting up with everyone over the last few weeks for goodbyes. Friends who I rarely see are coming out of the woodwork and telling me how sad they are that we're moving. But I wouldn't be seeing them were we not going, so it is a bit of a double-edged sword. I'm really very intrigued by your new venture!

NY your ball pics are gorgeous, despite blurriness!

Hope you have a lovely holiday Ollie and the journey goes as smoothly as it can!

Petit am with you on the hooker shoes front. They really ruin an otherwise excellent look.

Right, the madness truly begins this weekend. Mum's husband and 3 cousins from South Africa / Canada arrive on Saturday so need to get spare rooms ready. Mum has got too used to serviced life in Singapore and I have become the house slave. Need to cook for 8-14 for the next 5 nights, organise the finer points of Bridezilla's my sister's wedding (she's 'terribly busy' at work and I'm a pushover) and start to think about packing for the move. Shit.

MarshaBrady · 08/07/2011 09:13

Amber big congratulations! How wonderful!

Pickled so glad you have something that is reinvigorating and interesting.

I have so much work to do, not sure whether to go to a party tonight or work hmmmm.

MarshaBrady · 08/07/2011 09:15

I agree re the shoes, they are so high her foot is almost vertical.

NY you look fantastic in the pics.

Red good luck. I feel the same, the entire place is full of toys so ds1s room can be painted today, how does he have so much stuff. I mean I know how, but it's crazy. Nice stuff, but will have to be ruthless.

blossoming · 08/07/2011 11:05

Congratulations Amber. Lovely news and beautiful name.

Hope you're not feeling too bad emo. Love your Thursday nights (from afar, with no hangover!)

red, feel for you. Can you rope in some help?

I am just back from toddler group. Marinating salmon in lime, ginger and soy. Wearing black j brands, kew linen blouse and charcoal boyfriend cardigan.

moragbellingham · 08/07/2011 11:45

Was it you Emo looking for a bright bikini? I found this range unusual and bright but not in your face bright. I normally wear under-wired but the halterneck (without) is also good. The fold over bottoms are great.

moragbellingham · 08/07/2011 11:45

Ooh, did I miss another baby! Congrats to Amber and I'll be scrolling back for info.
