Time for a new thread.....

OP posts:
ReineDeSaba · 06/07/2011 15:52

still here chatting to myself Grin

wore this today and on way to nursery only other person walking towards me wearing exactly the same..she did not look amused!

FritziGreenEyes · 06/07/2011 16:49

reine Wish I could distract you from feeling so sick with lovely links, but I have to dash and pick up DD. I wish my DH had a friend who owned a swimwear shop Smile. Have bookmarked and will check if they deliver to Europe!

notyummy · 06/07/2011 17:07

That blouse is gorgeous Reine. You both obviosuly have great taste Wink.

L1 and half of L2 6W6P done with 3 kg weights...

blossoming · 06/07/2011 17:50

Sorry you're feeling unwell reine. You have really beautiful clothes.

Took my dresses to be hemmed. The lady had no idea who dvf was. Are they doomed?
Stressful drive home with dd going 'poo coming, poo coming'. Single track road, no lay bys. When I did stop, got her on the potty and a cat came out of nowhere and put her off..!

AllBuggiedOut · 06/07/2011 18:38

That's a lovely blouse reine

Have you planned your first order yet ollie? Grin

Loving all the pictures of KM. I think she looks lovely in the Birger dress, and I yearn to look that shape in a shirt and jeans. But agree with those who thought the Issa hung off her. If I was being really picky, I'd add that slightly shorter hair would be less ageing.

pickledsiblings · 06/07/2011 20:15

Reine, the matching blouses made me laugh. V. nice blouse it is too. Are you around on the 29th for a picnic with Bloss et al? My DD(10) is very good with toddlers Smile.

Fritzi, I'll go to Tuscany with you.

WAN, I'll go to NY with you.

Bloss, lol at your DD.

ReineDeSaba · 06/07/2011 20:16

Thank you for cheering me up ladies and making me feel that even though I am falling apart my wardrobe is still going strong Grin

I found that blouse BNWT on ebay..I wouldn't have bought it new at full price as it's viscose and that's a lot of moula for man-made but the print/cut/colour are otherwise perfect.

bloss probably a good thing dvf is unknown to your tailor..as soon as London tailors spot that label they are bound to add a few pounds to the hemming price..In fact it seems everyone where I live is almost the opposite and supersavvy about fashion..the lovely lady who works in a charity shop is in her 80s and we've already discussed colourblocking,DVF and breton this season..I just hope I can keep up..

fritzi my DH has a clutch of very gorgeous, very fashion friends so I felt a bit 'ugly betty' at first but they are actually superlovely(though I still spend ages figuring out what I should wear each time we meet up)

ReineDeSaba · 06/07/2011 20:20

Grin ..I just saw your post pickled ..we can help you finalise your packing lists!

I'd love to do the 29th..my diary is in with sleeping dd2 so will check tomorrow..my DD1 will be in heaven to be taken under the wing of a 'big girl' Smile

MarshaBrady · 06/07/2011 21:01

Grin that's the spirit Reine. Matching blouses is quite funny. Everyone has a style going on at ds' school. But there is a bit of first dibs going on.

The purchase of the Bottegas was completely inspired by your shoes at moamu don'tcho know. Still no dispatch email, like the long great wait!

Pickled are you going to the picnic on 29th?

Aaargh, DH has admitted to an almighty cock up: it is the 28th he will be working, from 2 pm, so that is when I could meet up. Men!!

Exciting news though, ollie's GP bird dress has despatched! I will report back.

blossoming · 06/07/2011 21:11

X posts clevery [ grin].

FritziGreenEyes · 06/07/2011 21:45

pickled Let's pick a date! Anyone else joining us for Tuscany? Grin

OllieinOrange · 06/07/2011 22:43

Running in slightly sozzled after an evening of Pimms at neighbour friend's house! Love the stuff!

Bloss exciting re the dress. I guess you went for the black one given your colouring? Keep looking at the brown one which I guess is more my colour but think I prefer the black. Am def going to get the long grey cardi - just waiting for John Lewis to stock it!!! I can't tell you how much my shopping horizons have opened up by them posting here!!!

Am very sad I can't make the meet up. Sounds like it would be lots of fun. DSs would have loved it too.

I'm so up for a trip to Tuscany and NYC tho Wink- and can I also suggest Barcelona to add to the list. I already have that one covered WAN-style in terms of hotel, restaurants, wardrobe etc (you are not alone in planning such trips WAN believe me!) Sigh.

Seriously, we should do a 'W&A Hits Europe' Meet Up. I could host one over here - we could go look at bulbfields/windmills/cheese markets in frocks and heels! Whats not to like?!

notyummy · 06/07/2011 23:01

Have put a couple of pics on profile of the Ball last weekend that friend sent me, but have realised that they are terrible quality - really blurry. For once that is not my poor photographic ability. And, no...its not an attempt to hide the wrinkles Grin

Emo76 · 07/07/2011 08:02

Am loving the "WANtours" aspect of travel planning. Sadly not in town on 29th as on hols but would have loved to meet up (if I was invited? was I? paranoid...!) Put me down for Tuscany.

Went to the.poshest.street.party.ever last night in Motcomb Street - really really good fun, an amazing George Michael tribute act, lots of fantastic people watching and a few glasses of wine. Great mix of ages. Some awful plastic surgery though - if done badly or too much it just makes people look older IMO.

Today I am wearing ruffly Pink white shirt, navy BR trousers and red heels - feel all springy and nautical despite a rainy summers day.

Finally, not my fave celeb but I love Myleene Klass's red dress - where could it be from?

mrsjuan · 07/07/2011 08:25

Morning all, as usual can't keep up. Hope you are feeling better WAN and reine.
V sad I can't make the meet up-would love to do a European visit.

Pickled- gutted for you and the job-you woul have been fab. V intrigued to hear about the new project though.

Bliss you made me laugh with the poo/ cat story-sounds very familiar. Dh has learnt that if he sees me pulling on to the drive in a frantic manner he needs to get the potty into the hall quick smart!

Went to a quiz night last night (so rock and roll). Made an effort nonetheless but had to accessorise outfit with an iggle piggly umbrellas as there was a massive downpour just as we pulled kntotje car park and that was the only one in the car. Oh dear.

mrsjuan · 07/07/2011 08:27

Hmm- think that kntotje word is meant to be into. Either that or ollie's Dutch influence is rubbing off.

carciofi · 07/07/2011 08:38

Thanks for the kind words, all fine here now and DH has taken the day off. My new babysitter is great and DD1 likes her, so I head off with the baby the two afternoons that she is here.

I decided that I do want the LKB red Anna bag after all but it seems to be sold out everywhere. How many black bags are too many? I have three (all quite different) but tempted by the Maeve tote in black.

Ollie, great news about JL delivering to Holland! Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus ship internationally too.

Glad your boots and bag finally arrived, Petit. I have been mispronouncing Anya's last name all this time, apologies, Anya!

I went to Richmond yesterday and bought this Whistles blouse, looks good with skinny jeans, and bought these MIH cropped jeans. I am going to keep the black ones. The girls in Matches cooed over the baby so I had loads of time to try things on. Unfortunately not loads of money to buy it all.

Did you order Hush pajamas, Fritzi? I ordered a pair at 3am the other night when I was up with the baby!

My J Brands are the only jeans that don't fit me at the moment (apart from the new skinny jeans), I almost listed them on eBay in a temper but will hold fire for a while.

Glad the Saks trip was a success, Roary. Now go have some guacamole in Rosa Mexicano for me!

Funny about the DVFs, Bloss. Great, I can make the 28th though won't stay too long so as to avoid rush hour. How about Hyde Park? The Serpentine bar is nice if it is raining.

Emo, sounds like a fun night.

Wan, I really like the Davina dress, I think it would be a good buy.

Reine, lovely blouse. Hope you are feeling better.

Pickled, good luck with your new venture.

Hi to everyone else.

Emo76 · 07/07/2011 08:47

mrsJ your umbrella made me smile. At least you had one to hand!

ollie I would def be up for a dutch meet up!

carciofi don't list in haste - DD2 has only just arrived, you are clearly pinging back in to shape super quickly!

must get on with some work but keep being distracted by anglomania in the my wardrobe sale - including the dress i purchased full price a few weeks back, sucker!

blossoming · 07/07/2011 10:25

The reductions on Anglomania are incredible emo! Are you packed for your holidays?
Heavy showers here today, warm sunshine inbetween. Perfect Agnes weather (I have washed them, honest!)
Great you can make 28th carciofi. Anyone else? Or have I completely confused everybody?
Glad things are better carciofi. Great shopping as usual, and good idea to get a babysitter.
I shall be up for w&a European shenanigans minute I have my first pay check (and paid my credit card)! Paris, Dublin, Barcelona, Holland, Florence, New York (honorary member, flights from Liverpool!)

notyummy · 07/07/2011 10:28

Bloss - unfortunately I can't make the 28th as I will be working. Boo!

blossoming · 07/07/2011 11:49

notyummy you both look lovely in the ball. Your arms are shredded to perfection!
emo, can't help with MK's dress, haven't hot past Holly W'by's Chanel yet!

wideawakenurse · 07/07/2011 18:14

Strange weather here today, teaming it down one minute and then sunshine the next, so black skinnies and a jersey top from Reiss for me today. Wore my BR trench for the first time, I love it. It really is shower proof!

Also have my Jalouse's on, am slightly worried as the toes are still looking discoloured from the rain, even though we have been home since lunch time.

Managed a quick peep into House of Fraser this am, saw this dress which I think could be a good Autumn piece. Also saw this dress as a potential dress for DH birthday, is a lovely aubergine colour and would be good with nude heels.

Didn't get the chance to try any on though, as DS was restless. Am hoping to sneak a Westfield trip in after work to get a birthday present for DH though so hopefully I'll get a chance then.

I can do the 28th too, will have DS with me. Like carciofi I will have to leave at a reasonable time to miss rush hour. Lets hope for good weather.

carciofi I saw that top today, it's very pretty. Am looking forward to seeing the new Whistles collection once the sale stuff is cleared.

MrsJ I laughed at your IgglePiggle umbrella story - thats exactly the sort of thing that would happened to me. I often find dummies, organix snacks etc in my work handbag.

Bloss I am very interested in that bird dress too, please let us know. Think it would be good with opaques and flats in the Autumn.

My days off have gone so quickly, back to work tomorrow. However, life has been made easier in that I have just been issued with a blackberry for work. I am being strict and not looking at it during the day, but am able to keep on top of emails in the evenings. That makes my Fridays better at work, at least I don't arrive to 100+ emails on a Friday morning.

Love the sound of a overseas W&A meet up - uber glam!

wideawakenurse · 07/07/2011 18:17

Oh, NY from what I can see of those pictures, you looked lovely at the ball, especially your hair. Just realised that a friend of mine was at the same event!
