thank you Antpants1 beautiful scarves at lily and lionel (how did I not know about them) - rather in love with both the brown and the raspberry. Really like the cuff bracelets as well.

redllamayellowllama · 21/07/2011 00:01

Hi Amber, I feel your pain. I became completely immodest when feeding DD as she hated any artful drapery. Would your Equipment shirt be an option?

How exciting about the house IceCream. Chain element irritating but fab that someone had such a strong reaction to it. I'm not too great at the baby bit either - too much of a do-er to sit down and appreciate the lovely moments.

Carciofi I was all ready to be a MM teacher (had undertaken a singing interview and everything) when DH got his job in Bristol and it seemed ridiculous to train for a term's work. They have quite interesting franchise opportunities...

Great shopping Verity. I love the Whistles top.

Ordered a pair of Agnes' in worn onyx, although would have preferred navy. Very much looking forward to donning them (if they bloody fit).

Count me in for a September meet; will want to escape the dust I'm sure!

petitdonkey · 21/07/2011 07:32

Morning all -

wave to Kalitixi!! That's the great thing about this thread, no worries about shyness or anything, just a bit of chat, some lovely clothes and support when you need it Smile

Fritzi - I've been thinking about your poor friend. It makes me remember how blessed I have been in the whole pregnancy and birth thing and how lucky I really am. I really hope that it works out for her.

Ice-cream - hope the house works out for you.

Verity - that Whistles top is gorgeous! The shape wouldn't suit me but I love it.

Am off for waxing and manicure this morning as I have a child-free London weekend with DH and some lovely friends. I have no idea what to wear due to this weather.... Will it rain, be hot, cold??? Oh well, I'll probably be wearing a wine coat for much of the weekend so it won't matter.

wideawakenurse · 21/07/2011 08:38

Good morning.

Great buys VB.

Carciofi I think the belt was £35.

ice-cream that is good news on the house front.

Waves to Amber. Hope you are all ok. Am impresses at your trip to Westfield, although it's a great place when you consider the facilities for children.

Another day where I have woken up tired! Also I am starting to feel very sick. Made worse by having a drink a pro biotic drink everyday. The posters on the allergy boards recommended it from a study which links it to reducing allergies in a DC2. Worth a try, but it's vile. Grin

Off to toddler group this morning, wearing reiss top and skinny jeans. I can really recommend French connection skinnies for reasonable priced jeans, I am pretty impressed with them.

red sending you a hug, lots of change for you and the family at the moment an that's hard. If it's any consolation my DH deals withy problems in exactly the same manner. Don't understand it = don't talk about it. Hmm frustrating. We are here with open ears though.

wideawakenurse · 21/07/2011 08:39

pickled shame about next week.

carciofi · 21/07/2011 08:41

Petit, sounds like a great weekend.

I have been up since 4.30am and I have to say I am not a fan of the newborn stage, cute and all as DD2 is! I can't sleep in the day with a 3 yr old as well and I get very restless sitting around.

MrsCB, Piperlime and Tobi have Goldsign misfits, I was tempted to order but not sure they are the same jeans I tried on.

Lovely top, Verity.

Kalitixi, I just got this scarf and it is lovely.

carciofi · 21/07/2011 08:42

Thanks Wan

VerityBrulee · 21/07/2011 10:14

WAN you poor thing, the first weeks were always grim for me. I used to carry a little bottle of grapefruit essential oil, which I sniffed regularly. Read it in a magazine, the citrus (you could try any citrus oil) helps to alieviate the nausea. Might be worth a try. Also Solgar have probiotic capsules, would they be an alternative to the drink?

Hi kalitixi! I saw this scarf in scarf in zara, it's a slightly warmer and softer brown in RL and very soft. I will probably succumb to it sooner or later!

Carciofi hope you have coffee to get you through the day, will your babysitter be back next week?

Red moving, esp far away is v stressful, make sure you treat yourself when necessary!

Bucketing rain here, I am in opaques, skinnies and cashmere, will be adding wellies and oilcloth coat to take dd to her art camp. more like October than July

That reminds me, I started my Christmas shopping yesterday Shock All the girls accessories in Monsoon are half price, so got jewellery, hair clips and craft sets for dds stocking (all of which I'd end up buying at full price in December). If you have little girls to buy for I'd highly recommend it.

blossoming · 21/07/2011 10:32

verity, I'm at a new low wearing merino polo neck in July! Good idea re Monsoon. I'll pop in on Saturday.
carciofi, it is very hard. Hope you get some sleep soon. Is it worth getting an emergency sitter?

Well the press release for my new appointment has made the paper! I am very proud and the dvf was a good choice!

wideawakenurse · 21/07/2011 12:45

Wow Bloss that's amazing!

Thanks for the tip verity, I think I will
Stock up on my goddaughters gifts.

notyummy · 21/07/2011 15:57

Well done you media star Bloss!

Hope you feel better soon WAN.

Weather pretty grim here too. Not actually rained since this AM, bit leaden skies and not warm. Forecast is for it to brighten up considerably from tomorrow however - just in time for our two nights camping from Saturday!! Perhaps I may be able to wear the shorts after all. Just started compiling a list of stuff to take and realised why I never usually go camping....

However, it is with good friends, is only for two nights, there will be plenty of wine, and it is not due to rain (can you tell I am trying to talk myslef into this..?!)

FritziGreenEyes · 21/07/2011 16:03

verity I did start my Christmas shopping last year when the Accessorize sale began Smile. Thanks for reminding me!

Lunch with DD at our friend's house today when one of their cats was "playing" with a squirrel (we only have the small red variety here not the big grey ones). As it was still breathing, we took it inside but while we were waiting for the vet to open, it died. "Funeral" will be held tomorrow because it is raining (again) now. DD asked to take a picture of dead squirrel with my iphone Hmm.

No S&B news from me. I haven't bought another pair of JBrands yet.

petitdonkey · 21/07/2011 16:10

Bloss - Fantastic!! Hope you frame it for the downstairs loo!!

Verity - Can't believe that I have found myself thinking 'Oooh, what a good idea, I must pop in..'!! I usually have a rule that Christmas shopping does not begin until october half term is over - I'll probably buy a load then forget about it.

Carrie skirt arrived and I love it but no idea how to style it - don't really like the top that is with it on the whistles site and it looks very dressy with black. Will ponder some more.

Wan - jeans were not good on me Sad fine on the leg but big on the waist and gave me a weird camels hoof, colour didn't make me sing either.

OllieinOrange · 21/07/2011 16:45

I have french shopping news! Hit the shops today and picked up 2 dresses (both shades of indigo blue, one would be suitable for work if i ever get a job!!!) stone coloured blouse and a pair of taupe espadrille peep toe wedges - all half price from galleries lafayettes. Makes up for the fact we've decided to leave for home tomorrow-a day early. Weather still terrible, roads quieter and DH still a bit nervous about car's electrics. Oh well, c'est la vie!

OP posts:
blossoming · 21/07/2011 17:26

Oh ollie, what a shame you've been rained home. Nice shopping though.

I took off my polo neck at lunch and was in short sleeves this afternoon. Dd walked to town and back, had her hair cut and we all went to thd local caff for ice cream. Took a good 1.5 hrs the speed she was going! Who says I can't entertain the kids in the holidays!

FritziGreenEyes · 21/07/2011 19:43

bloss Well done on being in the newspaper and looking great in DVF!

ollie Great shopping haul Smile. Have a safe journey back home.

redllamayellowllama · 21/07/2011 21:01

Thanks WAN, hope you felt less sick as the day progressed. Were you very sick with DS?

V jealous of your weekend Petit - it is going to cheer up for Saturday apparently. Annoying about the jeans - they looked so promising. No idea on the Carrie, I veered away for that reason. Which colour did you go for?

How exciting Bloss! I was immortalised in a Daily last year...

Hope DD not too traumatised by squirrel-gate Fritzi.

Hope you make it back home safely, Ollie.

I took my cousin to enjoy the delights of Selfridges today (I know I should be packing, but am refusing to begin). Have fallen in love with this Reiss top which hung beautifully. I also tried a cozy and liked very much; have added the red to my wishlist and shall turn to it in times of need over the coming months. No actual purchases though.

FritziGreenEyes · 21/07/2011 21:16

wan Ginger is supposed to alleviate nausea too. Hope you feel better soon

carciofi Could you put on a DVD for DD1 while DD2 naps and have a short nap or quiet cup of coffee too? Or maybe arrange a playdate for DD1 while your babysitter is away? Glad you like the Goldsigns. Credit goes to LTEC Smile.

kalitixi Shredding is great. I was very intimidated by what I read about it at first but now I am a total convert. Having said that... I am still stuck on level 1 Blush.

verity I love Massimo Dutti. Can be very hit and miss but I have had lovely things from their shop.

red For me moving houses has always been very emotional. Could you do anything nice with your DH to re-charge your batteries?

amber Good to see you! Well done on Westfield shopping success. How do Earharts compare size-wise to Agnes???

Thanks for all your support re crazy neighbours. Their house is painted orange and they have really ugly garden gnomes scattered around their garden. Enough said Smile.

FritziGreenEyes · 21/07/2011 21:18

red x-post. Selfridges sounds like a good distraction from packing. Did your cousin buy anything nice? The Reiss top would look lovely with skinnies.

redllamayellowllama · 21/07/2011 21:29

Just this Zara top. This is not the spendy cousin, but another Capetonian who got a bit overwhelmed by the pound to rand conversion. She fell in love with this dress and will probably go back for it.

She is heading off to Munich to visit a friend tomorrow and we'll have the house to ourselves for 2 hours before my Mum returns from a trip to Scotland. Have already issued firm instructions on what she is to do to assist with packing.

ApuskiDusky · 21/07/2011 21:43

Ha great minds think alike Red, that Reiss top has been in my basket for about a week now, not quite sure why I've not pressed buy yet!

Bloss, have you clipped the photo for posterity?

Ollie, shame you've had to head home early, but I'm glad you finally got some good shopping in!

Fritzi, orange house?!

We decided not to go for the two-bedroom-upstairs-house in the end, decided that we could afford to keep looking a bit longer, even though DH starts his new job on Monday. We had another viewing today for ours - given an hour's notice with no estate agent available, plus my cleaner was a no-show this morning, hence a frantic clean and tidy with the dc's plonked in front of cbeebies. The viewing lady seemed to like it, but she would no doubt have been nice about it whatever to my face. Another cash-buyer though, so we'll see.

Icecream, I meant to say, how great that someone likes your house enough to sell theirs to get it! Hope they get a buyer soon.

blossoming · 21/07/2011 21:47

red, you go girl. My idea of hell, all those guests. You are some woman!

Hi fritzi, hope you're feeling better today. Any nice plans for the weekend?

FritziGreenEyes · 21/07/2011 21:51

bloss I think I am just in some sort of slump at the moment, but will shred myself out of it soon, I hope Smile.

Has anyone ever used this website???

blossoming · 22/07/2011 10:38

Morning everyone. Sun trying to come out. Mum's barometer going up. Looking good for your camping trip notyummy!

I'm a bit annoyed that my Boden preview stuff which was supposedly in stock and which I paid express for haven't arrived. Looks like Bloss top again tonight then!

Made the mistake of buying a zingzillas magazine (noisy freebie toys). In the wrong hands, ie DS's, it's a headache!
But also special edition Grandpa in my Pocket one which ALL my dcs have loved. Now sunny though. May go to the park later.
