Time for a new thread.....

OP posts:
VerityBrulee · 19/07/2011 21:40

Huge congratulations to IceCream and WAN, what fantastic news. Hope you both have easy, uneventful pregnancies Smile

NY your adventures made me smile. I didn't even bother to do a pregnancy test with dd (third baby) I remember feeling really grotty one morning, sick, tired and sore boobs. I knew instantly and made appointment with consultant. Just as well my insticts were correct or I would have been rather Blush at booking in appointment!

Carciofi how lovely to read about about dd2s smiles Smile My dear friend had a 9lb12oz baby yesterday I'm so happy for her as after a few failed IVF attempts she had given up hope. My dd is v worried they might call the baby Harper Seven!

Red I would love to see your photo, sounds like you had a lovely day. I have a few DKNY cozies, mostly wear them around the house as I wear them ballerina style and find the knot on the back too uncomfortable to drive in!

Ollie I would love to go the Ile de Re, not least for the shopping!

Bloss no bikinis on our holiday, everyone on the beach was in a full length wet suit Grin

Petit good going on the post bedtime shop, credit card is burning a hole in my wallet. I have engineered some shopping time tomorrow by arranging to have a friends dc over in the morning and she'll have mine in the afternoon. Can't wait!

Waves to everyone I've missed Smile

redllamayellowllama · 19/07/2011 21:47

VB and Ant have added you.

Hope you have fun tomorrow VB - anything specific in mind?

I meant to recommend this kids book app to you all. DS a little young for it at 2.5, but he is completely transfixed by it. Amazing stuff.

redllamayellowllama · 19/07/2011 21:47

And Ollie, I admire your commitment to the cause.

VerityBrulee · 19/07/2011 21:54

Lovely photo Red you look great! Hoping to get some 70% off bargains, I have quite quirky taste so often like whats left at the end of the sales! That app looks good, dd esp loves reading, planning to make it a major school holiday activity Smile

FritziGreenEyes · 19/07/2011 21:57

ollie Your holiday accommodation looks fantastic. Which colour Agnes have you ordered?

verity Forgot to say: Welcome back!

red Great tops! Wouldn't the Whistles top look better with fitted, more slim-line trousers? Think the model looks a bit swamped by all that fabric. I would go for the DKNY cozy.

blossoming · 19/07/2011 22:27

Very avid indeed ollie. What incredible reductions. I can understand those awful Gigis, but the Agnes is really lovely, and the houlihans are similarly reduced.

I have ordered two tops from Boden a/w. I ordered express so I can wear this in mercury on Friday night (I go out with the governors) with my gorgeous straight leg Zara trousers, which are ankle length and my failsafe lkb platforms. Trousers and shoes look really good together.
Good to hear from you verity. Sorry about the bad weather. Everyone in winter clothes here today. My dad in his massive winter coat and woolly hat for gardening!
DS showed me the website I have to order his Leinster shirt from. I don't know what they'll make of him in the rugby club. I suppose he sees it as the same as football. Everyone supports either Man U or Liverpool here. And as we live so far from the rugby playing south, he has just chosen the winning team!
I am distracting myself with tales of all your avidity, as I have deleted an important email and DH is on the warpath. That was taking 'clearing out inbox' a step too far.

petitdonkey · 19/07/2011 22:51

red - thank you! Alas, the yellow top is gorgeous but only available in an 8 or 6 which I'm afraid my 34ffs would object to!! Am going to order this which is similar but may be too high necked and this - the one that I have is similar to the butterfly one that you linked to but maybe the pink will be more vibrant. I have also ordered a jade green body (??!) to go under it after reading the review!!

My Kindle just died and I have no idea where the charger is - gutted. I'm reading 'Before I go to Sleep' and it's gripping - now I'm back to shopping!!

petitdonkey · 19/07/2011 22:56

Nope - have stopped myself!! No more shopping tonight!!

kalitixi · 20/07/2011 04:13

hi, I'm a bit over enthusiastic as it's been my first day posting on MN. I'm now awaiting deliveries of potential ankle boots after advice earlier today! I'm highly motivated to update my look at the moment, in particular towards a fresher casual style. Otherwise, I would love your advice on a massive obsession of mine for weeks. It's here on the asos website: the girl who is labelled as Anne Gruenewaelder in the grey sheer slouchy top over a white vest carrying a beautiful stella mccartney handbag (and wearing a lovely Hermes cuff). I would love to find the sheer grey top with a pleated sleeve detail - it seems to be labelled as Cos (though the labelling includes a blouse and jacket, so I am not sure if that's right).

Over the last few weeks I've trawled ebay and looked around the (minimalist!) Cos website but it's nowhere to be found. Have any of you seen this sheer grey top or something like it? I have nice white vests etc and this could be a nice way of updating things (plus my expected new ankle boots!).

Would be grateful for ideas as I'm a bit stumped ...

annie your green dress sounds stunning.

carciofi · 20/07/2011 05:50

Hi kalitixi, I haven't seen any tops like that.
Petit, you are some shopper! I love that DVF purple dress.
Red, I prefer the cozy to the coat.
Ollie, glad you are having a good time and well done on the Agnes! I am already sorry I didn't size down but I have worn them now and DD2 peed on them :o so I guess I am keeping them! They are fine with a belt but I prefer tighter.
Annie, your green dress sounds lovely. I don't have sisters but always wanted one so it is really nice to have two girls.
Verity, holidays in the rain in the west of Ireland takes me back! Good news about your friend's baby.

wideawakenurse · 20/07/2011 07:24

That dress sounds beautiful Annie.

ollie I too am impressed by your dedication to the cause!

Would it be worth calling Cos kalitixi?

Lovely top bloss. Those straight legs sounds great.

Another EA this am, but I have DS in tow this time, so I am trying to think of a crumb free breakfast for him!

It is so wintery here, I am wearing a navy cardigan and thick socks.

notyummy · 20/07/2011 08:20

Morning all. On train to London for meetings in dark green belted trousers with stripey Mango blouse and navy Mango blazer, plus wooden Zara heels. Also wearing green necklace bought a school fair!

Annie- your dress sounds amazing! I love the whole outfit.

Hope you all have good days and manage to dodge the rain.

MarshaBrady · 20/07/2011 08:21

anniemac your dress sounds so lovely.

I really want to come and read this thread properly, but brother is here so have been going out a far bit and am at work later today. So shall be back!

blossoming · 20/07/2011 08:37

annie, they were on sale and are now sold out. these are similar, if longer.
Why has it taken me so long to reach the epiphany moment that the trouser style most suited to me is straight, slim fitting and ankle length? Great with flats, incredible with heels.
I blame Trinny & Susannah with their bootcut/wide leg mantra.
Anyway, I thank portia again for getting me into Zara trousers. I feel very French in them!

Great 'find' annie, and how lovely that your mum will be there to see it.

That was some shopping last night petit!

Can we have a Agnes headcount..!

Hi to everyone else. Love everyone's contribution during these trying times summer holidays.

Welcome Kalitixi-afriad I can't help with the fashion query though.

Have just seen not one, but TWO gorgeous maxis in Grazia. One emerald green Zara one and one palm tree print All Saints one. Must be strong!!! Although I can see myself in either of them for the 40th birthday party at a Swiss chateau I am going to in just a few weeks!!

Two annoyances. Train is delayed, and whilst eating packed breakfast of muesli and fat free fromage frais (to keep me away from the bacon toasties in the buffet bar....) I have just dropped fromage frais allllll down my trousers. Nice.

Did you know that the iPhone thinks that bacon toasties should be 'back rosaries' via predictive text?! WTF.....

Oh, and lastly I would just like to say that I really don't recommend 6w6p at 6am. It nearly killed me this morning. You do workouts at that sort of time don't you Bloss? My body really does not like it....

wideawakenurse · 20/07/2011 11:37

Oh NY I hate it when the trains are delayed.

Funnily enough bloss I was watching an old 'Not what to wear' the other day. All the women were put in wide legs or bootcut. Agree that that style doesn't suit everyone.

EA has gone, both gave similar estimations. I just feel cynical about it all, they are just too gushing for my liking. Grin

The tiredness has started. DS is having a nap, and I am about to join him. I think forgot what the first trimester tiredness feels like.

blossoming · 20/07/2011 11:40

notyummy, I haven't done 6w6p at 6am! I need to revisit it as my hols are getting closer.
On another note, my eschewing wheat has led to weight gain! So I'm happily buying shredded wheat and sugar free alpen (for teatime snack) again. I won't stop making spelt bread though, it's too delicious!
Hope you get that stain out ny. Fromage frais could be tough!

MarshaBrady · 20/07/2011 11:46

WAN I remember that feeling, have a lovely nap.

Kalitixi welcome did you get the boots today?

Dolce exciting stuff re house. Are you having a Plain English kitchen?

The Miu Miu belt of joy has turned up. Thanks Anniemac and WAN blinking love that you made me feel it was ok to get it. I hesitated but then I will wear it every day a lot.

These shorts are fab (which I will wear to match ds1 Grin).

But gloves are going back as they are not quite right. I do want long cashmere gloves still.
