Time for a new thread.....

OP posts:
ReineDeSaba · 19/07/2011 13:26

carciofi your DD2 is going on a charm offensive with DD1..gorgeous Smile

annie I love DVF..that's perfect for work.

ReineDeSaba · 19/07/2011 13:30

Shock at notyummy running up Table mountain and scuba diving when pregnant..ponders that she can give Jillian a run for her money..bring it on!

notyummy · 19/07/2011 13:36

Reine - blame my DH for that one! (Not the scuba diving, as we both love that!) WE climbed Table Mountain the day after we got to Cape Town (quite a few people do it - not really a 'proper' mountain IFYSWIM.) DH told someone in the hotel bar how long it took us, and they told him that we had made a really good time. For some reason that made him utterly determined to do it even faster ('we weren't even pushing ourselves that time - imagine what sort of time we can post if we really go for it...' Hmm.) In addition, the first time we had done it, it was cloudy and we didn't get much of a view. So we did it again, only we ran (most) of it and the sun shone.

FritziGreenEyes · 19/07/2011 13:37

carciofi How lovely!

ReineDeSaba · 19/07/2011 13:38

notyummy I need a lie dowm and a Creme egg after reading that Grin

VerityBrulee · 19/07/2011 18:50

Hello back from cold, wet and windy hols in west of Ireland, spent most of last 2 weeks in winter clothes. Desperate for some shopping! Off to catch upSmile

petitdonkey · 19/07/2011 18:53

WAN - Totally forgot you were pregnant for a moment there!! Sorry.

Apuski - How tall are you? Agnes are ankle length on me but I'm only 5"4. I am so sold on them, they are now £79 at Donna Ida and I've ordered another pair which gives me a total of 3 but I haven't worn jeans since I got them! Maybe worth a try?

FritziGreenEyes · 19/07/2011 19:09

petit Donna Ida has Agnes, Houlis and Earharts at bargainous prices. Must sit on my hands and hide the credit card!!!

petitdonkey · 19/07/2011 19:28

I know!! Have resisted the Earharts as I tried them on with a friend and, although there was only one size between us, she suited them much more as she has narrow hips. Not sure about Houlihans as mine are FAR too big around the waist but not massive on the legs - I feel they were a waste of money.
I have Agnes in Khaki colour, black and just ordered sharkskin. My black ones haven't been off me but I just realised that I threw them in the tumbledrier with some towels this morning so now need to see if they have shrunk..... Also, the stitching accross the thigh is coming apart (before the dryer incident, after about 4 wears [cross])

WAN - just for you I have ordered the Whistles jeans Wink plus Carrie skirt and a dress. Add to that my Reiss order and I've just spent over £600 since putting the children to bed 20 mins ago Shock Need to lie down!! (Obviously I'm imagining that half of it will go straight back...)

IceCreamCastles · 19/07/2011 20:06

Ears have pricked up at the bargainous j brands. I have coveted the Earharts for months.
What size should I go for? My Gap jeans are 27 but that is vanity sizing. I'm probably a 12 in topshop jeans at the moment.

Carcofi - that's lovely - I bet DD1 is pleased as punch.

NY - wow! I have known about both pregnancies from the beginning but don't think I would have been able to miss the last one to begin with. I don't have so much time to dwell on things this time around but symptoms seem much milder anyway.

petitdonkey · 19/07/2011 20:12

27 would probably be right IceCream - I tried on the 29 and they were by no means tight and I am a size 12-14 (My agnes are a 30). My friend sounds the same size as you, she tried on the 28 but thought they might end up baggy. Is it Wan or NY that has some??

IceCreamCastles · 19/07/2011 20:18

I think red has some?
I'll try the 27s and 28s - thanks. I seem to be studiously ignoring the fact that I will only be getting bigger in the months to come Grin. I guess the hairband trick will be useful!

wideawakenurse · 19/07/2011 20:29

ice-cream I am also a 12 in topshopp baxters. I take a 28 in j brand. Seeing as Agnes tend to come up big, I think you'll be ok with the 27.

petit thank you for ordering the fushia jeans. Hope you like them.

Carciofi first smiles, ahhh so lovely. Looking forward to seeing some pictures. I saw the red belt in the covent garden store, maybe wether calling your local store? It is lovely.

VB, sorry to hear the weather was dreadful, if it's any consolation, the weather has been dreadful here too.

NY I am impressed at your Activities when pregnant. I did not know I was pregnant with DS either whilst on honeymoon and so spent three weeks eating Vietnamese street food!

I went to see Bridesmaids today, what a great film. That and coffee and cake uninterrupted, heaven. Back to normality tomorrow though!

Am feeling depressed about not having anything glam to wear for Friday night. Please try and convince me I will great in skinnies and a top?!

redllamayellowllama · 19/07/2011 20:36

IceCream I seem to remember us being very similar sizes - mine are a 26 and they bag between washes. I'd go for a 26 and a 27. You will love them.

Big aaah to first smiles Carciofi. so lovely, I remember feeling thrilled that I was finally getting something back. And gorgeous that the relationship is developing between the two girls - DD reserves her best smiles for DS.

Petit wild expenditure!

NY you make me want to be a fitter woman.

I would be very torn there Apuski - can you see yourself living there. Logistics can be worked around I guess. Might be worthy considering on a 6 month let?

redllamayellowllama · 19/07/2011 20:37

And glad you had fun at the cinema WAN - I loved Bridesmaids too.

redllamayellowllama · 19/07/2011 20:39

And, I can't decide between this coat and a cozy. I know the two aren't comparable, but can't justify both purchases. For now.

petitdonkey · 19/07/2011 20:48

Red - I hadn't even heard of a Cozy until yesterday!! Just looked on the DKNY website and thought that I would get one if I get my colours done - they are lovely. Really can't advise you between that and the coat though!! Like the coat but it would be too boxy on me - if you are super slim like the model then it would look great! Not sure it's a supremely versatile colour either, maybe a bit too tan?? Okay if it's not going to be a staple. Sorry - feel free to ignore me!

Can anyone suggest an amazing yet cool top for me to wear on friday with Joseph black skinnies? Preferably not more than £100, bright, maybe printed... Could I be more vague?? I have a topshop kimono jacket which I love belted but the colours aren't great, I fancy something like that in Emerald green and magenta maybe. Now I'm being rather specific!!

OllieinOrange · 19/07/2011 20:51

Running in as wanted to share what i saw today which i know you all would 'get' - two shops next to each other, one had blochs in the window and the other had seafolly swimsuits/bikinis!!!! Oh how i smiled and thought of you all!!!! We were on the ile de re (lovely island) and hired bikes to cycle round as weather not great, and went to St Martin, v chic town. Of course it was lunchtime so shops were shut but am angling for a return visit on thursday as dying to try on grey swimsuit! Maybe there is a shop selling ash too? Smile

Bloss trust me, take bikini on hols, you see all sorts of shapes and nobody notices! Your figure would be a vision of loveliness on the beaches round here!

3 more days of holiday left, have just booked to return next july as we love it so much. Owners are so lovely and have great taste in interiors which they also sell. Website here

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/07/2011 20:53

Red - bicester dkny always seems to have loads of cosy's in stock at reduced prices. They don't work for me as a bit too voluminous - have you tried on?

redllamayellowllama · 19/07/2011 20:59

Oh no MrsCB, just my latest fixation after deciding that there is a gap in my wardrobe for such a garment - my glam cousin had a lovely asymmetric cashmere cardie/wrap that she lived in whilst here and it looked so comfy. I've never been to Bicester - haven't driven since a crash last year (must combat this soon). Petit you may be right on the coat - I love it though but it could swamp me height-wise. I wear lots that would work with the colour though, so not too concerned about that. Will have a hunt for your Friday top.

Ollie sounds like you're having an amazing time. Place looks gorgeous.

petitdonkey · 19/07/2011 21:13

Ollie - that looks fab!

I love this swoon!! Further away from dreamland, do I need this?? I love the colour and I don't own any DvF but do I need it? Might wait until morning and consider it if it's still there...

God, what is wrong with me tonight??? This is what happens when your husband works away Grin

redllamayellowllama · 19/07/2011 21:13

I quite like this top a la Reine and also some nice kimono style numbers here and also feel I should re-iterate how amazing this looks on. It may well be that one of those items meet your criteria though!

redllamayellowllama · 19/07/2011 21:15

That should be none. The DVF looks like a fab dress, you probably don't need it though. Do you already have anything similar?

OllieinOrange · 19/07/2011 21:20

Just managed to order a pair of agnes via iphone whilst sitting up against window to get wifi reception!!! How avid!
