Time for a new thread.....

OP posts:
MrsCampbellBlack · 18/07/2011 13:23

Dolcee - let me know if you get a good architect as we're still looking for one . . .

Annie - the attention is weird isn't it - I mean I strongly believe that no-one has to accept being touched/kissed if they don't want to and have never forced the children to kiss relatives as I used to hate it as a child. But you feel as though you're being incredibly uptight if you don't welcome all the attention.

Luxury cabin sounds good Dolcee - and think thats what we'll do next year. I do find it hard to find a holiday that works for all of us as basically I'd happily lay on a sun lounger for a fortnight with a stack of books/drinks but DH and Dc's not quite so keen on that Wink

Oh read in one of the glossies that j brand are going to do plum/forest green jeans for AW which I'm already hankering after.

Thanks for all your good wishes ladies - am feeling a bit of a wreck today and am now summoning up the courage to begin on the packing.

The wedding truly was glorious - a real family affair with lots of kids running around the field, stunning food and excellent music - classic wedding fare (Fleetwood Mac's Everywhere was a real high) mixed in with some cooler stuff from BiL's superstar DJ mate (whose dubious behaviour was v unimpressive).

Exciting news on the house Dolcee. Our place is going to be a bit of a nightmare for the first year, I sense, but we have no choice but to live there and get on with it. Aaaaah. Good to hear you had a lovely holiday MrsCB and that it wasn't marred too much by the journey and the unwanted attention. We've just received our plans for the extension, from a company recommended by friends in Bristol and the guy was fantastic, happy to pass on details.

So glad you enjoyed your trip in to school Bloss, September is going to roll round so quickly, am sure.

Happy birthday to all the mini-A&Wers; the various parties sound wonderful.

Lovely dress ice-cream, look forward to feedback!

Fritzi am annoyed on your behalf about the Jalouse.

Think I am going to invest in a DKNY cozy. I know I've heard mention of them from someone before. Carciofi, maybe? Would you recommend?

Big wave to everyone else.

Hmm, probably Annie - unless you know it will be v relaxed/boho style event, in which case anything goes. Depends on the crowd I guess! I have been at two wedding where there was a HUGE amount of cats bum faces made about a lady in a v short skirt in one case, and a man in a blazer with jeans.

Fashion minefield!

notyummy · 18/07/2011 15:32

Have you got a VWA? I can see you looking amazing in one of those dresses with your Jimmy Choo heels! My figure doesn't work in them (VWA, that is), so I like to live vicariously through others!

IceCreamCastles · 18/07/2011 15:44

Beautiful baby beckham. Even more beautiful daddy beckham Blush mrscb is a fellow fan aren't you?

Red- please can you add my new name to your list so I can see the wedding photos? Sounds like an amazing day.

VWA has arrived. It certainly does good things figure wise (with a belt) but is incredibly gapey at the top. I'll try it on again with some sort of vest top later to see if that works but not sure.

Am v admiring and envious of your enthusiasm bloss. Looking forward to seeing all your 'now earning' links

how not to wear you Agnes'.

Bloss, great to hear of your excitement around work. Agree that they are very lucky to have you. When will you find time to post come Sept? It is so nice to have your daily input on here so I hope you're factoring it in to your planning Smile.

annie, did you see the purple dress that the runner up of the Apprentice wore last night for the after show chat? That would look fab on you...

You can see Helen's purple dress here but you can't get a great look at it. Does anyone recognise it?

ReineDeSaba · 18/07/2011 16:09

carciofi is dd1 still at nursery..am finding it easier to get dd2s routine settled without the interruptions of nursery run.Everything is so hard on broken sleep.

icecream VWA a great price..shame it's not quite doing it for you.

annie love the sound of your Choos!I have yet to have S and B dreams but i do find myself asking you all questions in my head Confused like today I asked mrscb what she was wearing to weddings this year and I continually ask bloss and Clever to take my sis-in-law to have her colours done(unfortunately she seems drawn to the least flattering shades for her colouring...am getting quite nervous about her wedding dress!)

Hi to everone else!

pickledsiblings · 18/07/2011 16:10

oh I can't wait to see HP but dc's too young - for us it will be cars 2 Hmm

Loving all the imaginary conversations.

Am wearing this today which I love - is a tad Real Housewives but hey . . .

redllamayellowllama · 18/07/2011 17:31

Annie my favourite outfit wasn't a dress but this blouse worn with tuxedo trousers rolled up and high, high heels. My favourite dress was an emerald green floaty number with contrasting green underneath which the wearer said was from a little shop near Portobello. Which helps no-one.

Will add you now ice-cream.

Beautiful baby and lovely, lovely DB. I too am a big fan.

wideawakenurse · 18/07/2011 17:40

*red, what a lovely picture. You look stunning.

Annie, I love the tuxedo idea too.

Well back from my trip. Only purchase was a pink and black leopard print scarf from Whistles. A nod to MrsCB there!

Looked at the zebra prints shoes in French sole, they are not pony skin and so are quite plastic looking in real life.

I am so over the sales, the shops just look
like jumble sales at the moment.

Suspect I will be more successful shopping on my own town.

blossoming · 18/07/2011 18:23

That is bizarre annie! I was thinking of you earlier and your lovely work clothes, when this anglomania top pinged into my inbox. Thought it would be great with your colouring tucked into one of your pencil skirts.

Lovely top there mrscb. How is your house coming along?

I'm with you being over the sales wan. I want to buy some Boden a/w stuff but have no code! It's expensive this season without.

I decided to send back the white splendid racer back tank. It was too big, looked like I was wearing one of dh's vests. But the fuchsia one is a keeper, and I have a similar one in charcoal from Jigsaw last year which will go nicely too.

Have a bit of a dilemma though as my bil and dsis (remember them?) have realised where we're going on holidays and want to meet up. I can just see DH's face when I tell him. Mutual friends of ours want to meet up too, I may just have to get them all over with on the beach one day. (Note to self, double shred, double shred, buckets of fake tan..)

DD is running around saying 'poo coming'. I have got up 5 timesf (been writing this since lunch time Wink), and realised she's playing, and it is in fact the tombliboo who has just had a successful visit to the potty.

IceCreamCastles · 18/07/2011 18:56

Just popping in to say thank you very very much to carciofi for the lovely parcel of clothes I've just picked up. They're great.

Tantrum city here today (dd, not me) not helped by the fact it has been pouring with rain ALL DAY AGAIN. It had better get better by the time we go to Cornwall (in just over a week) else I will be most displeased.

Hope your weather has picked up ollie - or that you've found some amazing French shops.

Congratulations to the tombliboo bloss. DD has now started calling that she needs a wee at 5am. I could do without that but it seems mean to make / let her do it in her nappy if she asks to go.

Thanks red - you look great.

carciofi · 18/07/2011 19:14

Red, glad you enjoyed the wedding, you looked great. I have a couple of DKNY cozys, I like them and they are indeed cozy. I mostly wear them ballet wrap style. If you are ordering online, they run large, I am a 12 and wear small/medium.

Hi Reine, how are you doing? She finished two weeks ago but starts full time in September in another school. The babysitter is away this week, I miss her already!

Annie, your Jimmy Choo heels sound amazing.

MrsCB, cool top.

Glad you enjoyed being at the school, Bloss.

I ordered another scarf to replace the one I gave to my mil. Have spent a lot recently and have ordered a few things from the Boden autumn preview (though will probably send most of it back) so need to calm down. Although I might buy this before putting the credit card away. I like the sound of plum J Brand jeans.

Pickled, DH liked the Maeve bag and said it was much nicer than the hideous pink version!

Heard today from two different sources that there was another attempted abduction around here. I don't let DD1 out of my sight now.

carciofi · 18/07/2011 19:15

IceCreamCastles, de nada :)
