Mrscb- glad you had a good(ish!) holiday. That level of attention does sound slightly unnerving!

ny sounds like hard work but good that dd had fun regardless- I would definitely be complaining to the company though.

pickled your dd must be shattered with violin and ballet concerts at the end of term - bet you are very proud.I can imagine the interrogation you gave the new ballet school Grin

I'm feeling quite well thanks- no sickness but crushing tiredness in the afternoons and I don't have the luxury of crashing out on the sofa after work like I did last time! First midwife appointment on thurs- it all seems a bit more real now!

Dd in a funny mood today- last night she woke up screaming that there was a train in her room and this morning she was convinced that there was a crab in her porridge.

Oh, last thing -wan I prefer the mobile version on mn to the app- just click on 'view mobile version' at the very bottom of the normal page.

Enjoy your rainy Sundays everyone

pickledsiblings · 17/07/2011 11:21

ICC, I remember the tiredness well. 30th in Chester will be wonderful, it's such a lovely city.

The ballet thing gets worse - DD had a fab day and when I spoke to her of my concerns she just said, in that voice reserved for ten year old girls, 'that's called being professional mum'. She loves her own ballet school apparently but since I was just trying to help, she'll go for a taster session at the new one with the proviso that unless it is a lot better she'll stay were she is Hmm. I think I'm proud of her for handling it this way Grin.

FritziGreenEyes · 17/07/2011 14:34

ollie Shame about the weather... Depending on where you are in France there might even be some outlet shopping opportunities to fill the time until the sun comes out again???

mrscb Welcome back! Sounds like the purchase of a fab bikini was justified for your holiday Smile.

icc Hope you can get some rest at the weekend.

notyummy Very annoying about your DD's party.

Had a group of friends plus DCs round for BBQ yesterday (again) and I was so busy I forgot to eat properly and had too much white wine and two caipirinhas Blush.

MarshaBrady · 17/07/2011 14:47

Fritzi I think I will be doing the same today. Brother is here from Berlin, friends coming round. Have started on the bubbly!

FritziGreenEyes · 17/07/2011 15:13

marsha Hope you won't end up dancing in your kitchen at 1am all by yourself long after everyone has left and DH gone to bed Biscuit

wideawakenurse · 17/07/2011 15:14

NY that is very poor, how annoying. Sounds like you put on a great party though. Thank goodness for I-phones!

Thanks for the info MrsCB. I know what you mean about the haggling, very tiresome in the end. I am also put off by the two hour airport transfer.

ice-cream that sounds like a perfect way to spend your 30th.

fritzi that's the thing with drinking in the day. Hope you had fun though.

I am stuffed from roast chicken, but thrilled to see DS eating well, and he seems to have outgrown his carrot allergy! Fantastic news, one down, many to go!

MarshaBrady · 17/07/2011 15:19

hahahah Fritzi Grin that is brilliant. Given that I am working (waiting for people to turn up) and have had a glass already I think it is entirely possible Grin

I remember someone on mn dancing tipsily and someone else saying 'she is watching herself in the French windows' which makes me laugh and laugh every time.

well done WAN!

blossoming · 17/07/2011 19:39

Hi everyone. Phew, nice BIl and Sil just left. It has tipped down all day, but didn't stop them from taking dh and ds on an 8 mile bike ride. Very proud of both of them. Wish dh would take more excercise really. Quite fancy him hot and sweaty Blush.
Sorry to hear about the weather ollie, hope it perks up soon.
Can't find your aibu thread mrscb. Good to hear from you!

redllamayellowllama · 17/07/2011 21:12

Hi ladies! I'm running in and out again having only skim-read posts so will be very rude and fill you in on the wedding and return tomorrow to have a good look through and a catch-up (we're still entertaining the masses here, but have all the leftover wedding food so it's an open buffet).

Lovely, lovely day despite the rain; we worked bloody hard to set everything up (in a marquee which was in a field) and it looked gorgeous. We were dancing until the early hours as we had a cottage on the farm for the DCs. A lot of fun. My sister looked stunning and everyone had a great time. Perfect, really. My cousins both copped off with some of BILs single friends, which provided us with much entertainment.

Haven't got many pictures through yet, but have popped one on profile.

Back to cards and wine. Have lovely evenings all.

blossoming · 17/07/2011 21:20

Sounds perfect redllama. You look great in the photo!

ReineDeSaba · 17/07/2011 21:39

hectic weekend making hearty winter style meals for freezer [sceptical] thanks to the terrible rain..

red you all look so happy..sounds like a wonderful day and all your hard work paid off.

petit thanks so much for the lowdown on teaching..I'm not convinced it's the right career for sis-in-law..she gets hugely stressed and is extremely sensitive.

mrscb nice to know your children are cuties but Confused maybe a bit too much attention..glad you got to wear your lovely bikini buy.hope emo found something in the end.

happy birthday littleyummy ..love that birthday cake..bet there wasn't much left!sorry the hall messed you about.hope you are relaxing nicely now.

pickledsiblings · 17/07/2011 23:57

Lovely photo Red, glad it all went well Smile.

Late night shopping here and spotted these if anyone is still after them:

Ash Jalouse, size 37 at Anna (£102).

wideawakenurse · 18/07/2011 07:29

red that sounds like it was the prefect day. Glad that everything went well.

What a grey wet day here. Looking forward to my trip though!

notyummy · 18/07/2011 07:50

red - what a lovely photo and I am so pleased the day went well. I bet you will feel exhausted now after running on adrenalin for so long!

Weather is grey, windy and cold out. Long term weather forecast is not looking positive for our first camping trip with DD next weekend. DH is adamant that we are not going if it throws it down (like me, he has done plenty of military 'enforced' camping and does not necessarily associate the whole thing with fun!!) DD will be really disappointed if we dont go though.

Trying to good and not spending (got my eye on the price for the big trip to Australia next spring...) so shopping the wardrobe mostly. Wearing new Gap dark denim pencil skirt (bought by DH for me!) and stripey jumper, plus wooden wedges. TBH I feel like I should be in tights but it is July FGS! DD has a 'beach theme' day at school today. I guess that will be a British beach in summer, so fleeces and windbreakers all round...

Counting the days until I depart to warmer climes on holiday....

blossoming · 18/07/2011 08:18

I know how you feel notyummy. It was dark early last night, and it was dark again when I got up this morning. It feels like autumn tbh.
I'm off to school this morning! Just to sort a few things out, as term has ended here. Ridiculously excited though. Can't wait for my mum to come and take the kids!
DS very tired after the bike ride yesterday. Up with the lark as usual though. So mum can take care of his bad mood instead of me!

MarshaBrady · 18/07/2011 09:13

Ooh bloss have fun.

Am itching to buy a ridiculously expensive belt. I wore the Kors one so much, and need an new non-summer version....

I will wait a week and see what else comes in to NaP

Have fun bloss!

NY, hope the weather picks up for the weekend.

marsha, I really like studded belts for the winter.

dolceebanana · 18/07/2011 10:32

hi. Just worked out who ice cream is....Wink So pleased about your news!

Carciofi - DD 1 sounds so sweet with the baby. Aww... Unbroken sleep is hopefully not too far away!!

Think the house renovations will take at least 12 months so will have to continue renting. Aleady have my lists going, and dh doing the spreadsheets, sourcing Biomass Boiler etc. Hmm

Party went well - oh yes, 16 children screeching around my house was lovely! They were, on the whole, very good. We had lots of games to keep them occupied but honestly the boys are only a moment away from fighting at any given time. DS had clearly had enogh at the end as he shouted, 'Excuse me, but could you all now go home, as I am tired!!!' The shame of it, but my sentiments entirely!

mrscb - glad hols mostly good. We went to Turkey in 1991! Yes, v hot, and yes, unwanted attention v unnerving! We regularly do ferry trip with DCs to France - overnight good. Normally Plymouth/Roscoff. Some of the 'luxury' family cabins v good.

I used to love Plymouth/Roscoff dolcee. You have a really exciting time ahead of you! We have an amazing boiler, 4 floors down in the garage that somehow powers 2 power showers upstairs. Well worth it!
I've said it before, but it took almost 4 years from initial idea to moving in here. But looking back, time flew by. The worst thing is trying to be in by Christmas! In the end, it was February when we moved in, and the better for it, or I would have invited everyone I knew, and trashed the place from the start I'm sure!

I had a very productive morning at the school, and I am invigorated and enthused at the prospect of returning to work. Just a few more weeks to get through, then holiday, then back to earning! Links ahoy!

dolceebanana · 18/07/2011 13:10

Bloss...you shall be my mentor in this process then ! Wink Your house does sound lovely.

We did do a big ren on our last house which we lived in through all the work, though we were child free at the time. Would not contemplate this time around, and in any event, the house is unliveable (phew!)

Exciting times ahead for you too...jobs sound fab!

dolceebanana · 18/07/2011 13:12

Oh and thanks Annie...house is certainly not stuff of 'dreams' quite yet...but it will be I'm sure Wink once magic fingers have been to work!
