Just popping in to say that Ash are bringing out another version of jalouse at the end of the month - (spoke to customer service re "flint" jalouse)(no luck) Sad

called "jessbis"

Black or distressed brown (yipee)!

side zip

skull charm hanging from said zip [hconfused]

carciofi · 16/07/2011 12:46

NY, fab cake. Hope your DD has a great birthday.

Petit, hope my Agnes fit, I ordered my regular size. I found that cutting down on carbs helped (though trying out my new bread machine now while googling the witching hour! The baby is very fussy from 7-9pm).

Don't like the sound of a skull charm on the Ash boots though I do like the Jalouse.

Awful weather here too, hope it clears for your sister's wedding, Red.

Fritzi, I got new thank you cards printed with DD2's correct birth date! No one has mentioned it but they are probably just being nice. :o

My lovely friend called over yesterday with a massive box of clothes for the baby, mostly Petit Bateau and White Company so she will be very well dressed.

IceCreamCastles · 16/07/2011 14:45

Hi all, just dashing in to ask bloss if you have any recommendations for restaurants and or hotels in Chester?

FritziGreenEyes · 16/07/2011 14:51

Happy birthday mini-yummy! Cake looks spectacular Smile

blossoming · 16/07/2011 16:34

Grosvenor is the posh place icecream, bang in the centre, next door to Boodles and opposite R&B. I'm hoping to be there for lunch next week! I love Piccolino for (Italian) food. Abode is new and looks nice, overlooking the racecourse.

This is the never ending day.

blossoming · 16/07/2011 16:47

Just saw the cake. mrnotyummy triumphs again! Quite different from last year's though! I love that knee length dress on you in your pics ny.

IceCreamCastles · 16/07/2011 18:29

Thanks bloss- we were thinking of the grovesnor- very handy for shopping.
Hope the parties have gone well. Fab cake mrNY

OllieinOrange · 16/07/2011 18:32

Its been raining all day and forecast is terrible for the next 5 days. White dress hanging unworn in wardrobe mocking me! Now busy planning a few city visits which may improve shopping opportunities tho! Keep seeing lots of chic french ladies in beautiful scarves, i want me some scarf action! Cheese consumption still out of control, 6 months of shredding literally undone within a week!

Hope all is well in W&A land. Hope assorted weddings/bday parties etc go well, great news about your house Dolcee, sounds worth the wait. Off to put some socks on! Grrrrrr!

Bloss, never ending day here too. DD's violin concert this morning (10.00am - 1.00pm) that was actually lovely/friendly/personal and then the monster of all ballet shows (2.00pm - 5.00pm) that was neither of the above. Poor DD, she has to stay there until 9.00pm tonight and then do it all x2 tomorrow again. Although the show was mightily impressive with fantastic routines and costumes it was somewhat lacking in soul. Needless to say I have been on the phone to a rival ballet school that I have heard great things about and after giving the Principle the third degree I feel that it might be better suited to DD.

Anyway, enough about me Grin...

NY, there is no end to your DH's talents. Hope DD is having a lovely day.

Petit, DH saw HP last night and said that everyone stood up and clapped at the end...it was that good. Pizza Express, yum, yum, I love their Bosco salad.

ICC, you're not thinking of moving to Wales are you? Hope you are feeling well in your pregnancy, any morning sickness?

Enjoy the rest of the weekend y'all.

pickledsiblings · 16/07/2011 18:53

Hi Ollie, pity about the weather but love your positive attitude - more shopping opportunities indeed.

MrsCampbellBlack · 17/07/2011 06:37

Hello all and congratulations to all the pregnant ladies! And yeay for Dolcee and house.

Just back from holiday and it was good but soooo hot - literally too hot for anything but a bikini and thin dress in the evenings.

Flights were hard work as you'll know if you saw my AIBU thread - lordy there are some horrid people on mn nowadays.

Its pouring down with rain and am waiting for ocado delivery with milk so I can have coffee!

wideawakenurse · 17/07/2011 07:22

mrsCB. Welcome back! Glad you had a good holiday, despite the stressful flights.

Dolcee congratulations in the house news, it was worth the wait in the end.

Carciofi. Thank you so much for the package. Everything is great, especially the extras and the bump bands. I have to confess that I had no idea what they were for before, buy having found out, they are brilliant. Hoping they will keep me in my houlihans for a while.

Those that are coming to the meet up, I will pm again tonight with my mobile number. It's really hard to PM on the app. But will use DH's computer this evening.

red how's the packing going?

Miserable weekend here too, such much rain. Trying to do some DIY as Estate agents coming this week for valuations.

I am going into London tomorrow alone, DH wants me to get him a sweater in American Apperel. What can a very early pregnant women buy? Help!!

wideawakenurse · 17/07/2011 07:24

Meant to say to ollie sorry about the weather. I believe a chic scarf purchase may just make up for it. Smile

Ny could not see the cake pictures as on the App, hope DD had a wonderful day though.

petitdonkey · 17/07/2011 08:26

WAN - have fun in Town - I remember spending £79 on lipgloss on the Stila counter in Selfridges when I was first expecting DS! Make-up was always my downfall when pregnant. Could you treat yourself to a new Jo Malone candle? If you burn it throughout your pregnancy, it will always take you back there in the future. Same goes for body lotion or perfume.
Other purchases could be; ballet flats, great scarves, cardigans (nice cashmere wrap type maybe?), handbags (am I getting a bit carried away now??)

MrsCB - glad you had a great holiday - I can't remember where you went (if you said). Weather sounds amazing and now you're back to this!! Hope you get your coffee soon.

Pickled - Ballet show sounds traumatic!! Had a lovely evening thanks, ate far too much in PE and loved Harry Potter - I shed tears at several points!!

Ice-cream - As a student I used to work at the Chester Grosvenor and it's a really special place. DH and I have been back and stayed a few times now, tell them its a special occasion, we've had a room upgrade three times!! (And the 1st was the first time we stayed so it wasn't like they thought we were regulars). The main restaurant is fantastic and (I've bored people with this before) the Brasserie does the best Caesar Salad at lunchtime!! Worth going in for even if you don't stay. Friends of ours have stayed at Abode and said it was really lovely. I'm envious of you going to Chester, are you just having a mini-break or are you working?

Carciofi - cutting down on carbs works for me too but I always struggle to stick at it for longer than three weeks, I just love bread, pasta, potatoes... (says the girl who had a Pizza for supper last night!)

MrsCampbellBlack · 17/07/2011 08:34

We were in Kalkan in Turkey - wouldn't go back but the villa was lovely. DD got ridiculous amounts of attention from men pretending to steal her and wanting to show here their puppies - seriously! DH and I laughed but it was quite surreal.

Oh and bored at airport waiting for flight so bought various lotions and potions thinking how reasonable it was and then realised at till it was actually the price in euros so spent £150 rather than £75!!

MrsCampbellBlack · 17/07/2011 08:34

WAN - a handbag!

wideawakenurse · 17/07/2011 09:15

I am liking your enabling petit. I have now decided I would like some zebra print ballet flats. Anyone seen any about?

Funnily enough, MrsCB we have Kalkan on our short list for a week away in September. Would you not recommend?

petitdonkey · 17/07/2011 09:23

french sole?
and again

wideawakenurse · 17/07/2011 09:38

I love the ones with the pink trim. Bit worried about the slim fit though, my trotters are wide.

I do need a plain black pair too, my cheap new look ones are falling apart.

I am sure I can justify, seeing as I am bot buying a new outfit for DH's birthday meal next week! Oh, that and the fact I am on holiday. Wink

carciofi · 17/07/2011 10:00

GRRRR, just lost a post.
WAN, glad the clothes arrived. Sorry there was no note, I came home to find I'd left the notes I'd written to you and Icecream on the table. I saw zebra print ballet shoes in Russell and Bromley, they are on my list for autumn. I second scarves, shoes and handbags!
Petit, I love carbs too and my new breadmaker is fantastic so I can see I'll be using it a lot. You look great in your photos. I have no time to eat in the evening as my darling baby is wide awake from 6 until at least 9 and then again every 3 hours.
Ollie, hope you are having a great time despite the weather.
Welcome back, MrsCB. Going to check out your thread now!

notyummy · 17/07/2011 10:05

Ooh, nice shoes Petit!

Glad you enjoyed the holiday MrsRCB - although the plane does sound a bit stressful! Having decided to drive to Italy next month(via overnight ferry that will hopefully be an exciting adventure for DD) we are currently preparing for the journey to end all journeys!! Car sickness pills, games ideas, talking books and DVDs ahoy!

DD had a great birthday yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed her party....which was more than we did!! The venue was supposed to provide 2 'helpers' who would basically corrall the kids/do party games etc. having had a manic run up to the party and with DH so busy on the course that sounded ideal. Yesterday there was only one helper - and he had never done a kids party before! Grrrrr. Cue me googling on iphone ideas for part games that didn't need equipment etc. The kids had a great time because there was a bouncy castle and I had brought lots of 'tat' for prizes so we did lots of musical statues, simon says, grandmothers footseps etc, but DH and I were not impressed and he will be writing to local council (was council sports hall and we have the leaflet that 'sells' the party offer and tells you what you should get - which we did NOT get.)

MrsCampbellBlack · 17/07/2011 10:14

NY - happy late birthday to your DD!

DH now busy planning next year's holiday to France so we can take in some of the tour de france and drive/ferry so will be interested how you find it. Eldest DS and I are total sun worshippers so we're still planning Maldives Wink

WAN - Kalkan was fine but to be honest I found the attention the dc's received just a bit too much and also am not really a fan of the hard-sell which was everywhere. Think I just prefer Italy/France and also the food was impossible to get a decent coffee but I am uber fussy. However the company we went with - Exclusive Escapes - were fabulous.

pickledsiblings · 17/07/2011 10:55

MrsCB, you forgot to mention the dogs that were everywhere too Smile. We went at Easter, so weather was just right. Have decided that we may go to Kas (around the coast a bit) when the DC are older for some diving, the sea really is spectacular.

WAN, one of the attractions is that you are pretty much guarenteed good weather and the flight costs are reasonable, so on that score it's great.

IceCreamCastles · 17/07/2011 10:58

Morning all,
carciofi I think they tried to deliver the parcel while I was out yesterday so it's stuck at the post office until monday- I can't wait to fetch it! Hopefully my inaugural NAP order will arrive soon too.

petit what a lovely idea to have a special scent to remind you of pregnancy. Smell is so evocative isn't it. I only have to get a whiff of (don't laugh) the White soft and gentle deodorant and I'm immediately back in Paris on a trip with friends at 17!

Thanks for the grovesnor info- we're going to go to chester for my 30th so I can choose my own present (dh floundering) and want to have a fairly upmarket time eating and sleeping wise.

wan have a lovely shopping trip. Def bag, shoes or scarf.

pickledsiblings · 17/07/2011 10:59

NY, glad DD enjoyed her day. It'll make a great story to tell her when she is about ten and can appeciate and laugh at how frazzled you must have been.
